Elmfield House Care Home is a MULTI AWARD WINNING Care Home located in the picturesque village of Bisley, near Woking, Surrey. It is a family owned residential care home which caters for the needs of 18 elderly residents who have residential or dementia care needs. With just 18 residents it allows the team to give a much more personal service, and allows residents to feel part of the ‘family’ at Elmfield. Bisley is close to the A322 and is conveniently located close to Woking, Guildford and Camberley. The home is directly opposite the idyllic Bisley Green and is well known in the local community.

Elmfield House have been caring and looking after residents for 25 years, during which time they have seen many changes in both the caring system and Elmfield House itself. However, one thing will never change, is the ethos to create a ‘home from home’ environment, where residents feel safe, secure and valued, just as they would in their own home.

Independence is promoted and encouraged. Residents are involved in making as many decisions for themselves as possible. Every resident is always provided and cared for with his or her individual needs in mind. This personalised bespoke care is what makes Elmfield House different from all other care homes.

Elmfield provided my mother-in-law with such love and care for the last few years of her life. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff, meals were specially cooked for her and she gained weight! The manager is not just in the office, many times she helped out with caring or in the kitchen, nothing
too much of a problem. A lovely friendly home, not big, but a real nice feel about the place.

Review from P H (Son of Resident) published on 17 November 2021 Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mother entered Elmfield House in December 2020 having lived by herself independently for 38 years. It was a massive shock and for 3 months she was often distraught, confused, upset, aggressive, awkward. The staff recognised that this was completely out of character, as my mother is inherently polite
and grateful. In the spring of 2021, she recovered from covid and she is now happy and recognising that Elmfield is 'home'. All the staff have been wonderfully supportive and caring. Highly recommended.
Reply from Darren Somauroo, Director at Elmfield House Care HomeThank you for your glowing review of Elmfield House and for acknowledging that the staff have been wonderfully supportive and caring during a very difficult time. It is lovely to read that your mother recognises Elmfield as 'home' and we will always try to ensure this remains the case. Best wishes to you and your family from us all at Elmfield House.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.949 for Elmfield House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (434 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 455 Ratings = 4.949
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Elmfield House Care Home is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 18 registered maximum number of service users is 3.6, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
