Glendale

My father is in this care home. From looking around it a year ago, we knew this was the right place for him. Our priority was him receiving care, love and compassion and that is what we have experienced. They also take great care of us as relatives and we would highly recommend it. Today, we had the joy of joining my dad and the other residents, relatives and staff for a D-day event which was truly special. Thank you to the manager, another particular member of staff and all the carers.

I would like to send a very sincere thank you to the staff who looked after my Mum. Mum was a resident from 2004 until her passing in 2023. I have nothing but praise for the care and management of the staff. The whole home is clean, tidy and the food is excellent. The staff are polite, caring, sensitive and have empathy and sympathy for the residents and their relatives. They treat residents with respect and offer support to all. Thank you Glendale.

So very impressed by the care given to the residents. The home is well-appointed, warm and welcoming. The carers are so nice, not just to patients but to me. Feel so lucky to have got my husband into his home.

Moved into Glendale and I am very happy. The staff are great and are very friendly. The home is spacious and clean. The rooms are a good size with en-suite. There is a good choice of meals on the menu each day. There is also a lovely garden to walk round and seating area too.

I am very happy with everything, and want to give a big thank you to all the staff for all their dedication and hardwork.

My mum moved to Glendale from another care home in February this year. She was looked after very well. I found all the staff very friendly and polite. Unfortunately Mum passed away on May 25th, she was 99 years old. It was a great comfort to me that I was told two members of staff were holding her hands when she passed. I would certainly recommend Glendale.

My mother has been a resident at Glendale Care Home for just over two months due to her worsening dementia and declining mobility issues. The experience so far is all that we could have wished for in terms of providing Mum with an engaging, reassuring and fun living environment at her stage of life. There always seem to be plenty of staff members on hand to provide care and we have not encountered a single one that isn't cheerful, compassionate and always ready to help. The management team are open to suggestions and gives due consideration to any ideas we may have as relatives. Combined with good, varied food choices and diligent cleaners and laundry staff, we are extremely happy with the care that Mum is receiving which gives us great peace of mind.

My mum has been in Glendale Care Home for eighteen months and has thrived with the excellent care and attention from the wonderful staff. I can’t thank them enough. The Glendale management, team leaders and carers create an environment to enable excellent care of the residents, thank you.

Things seemed much improved. At long last, there seems to be a consistency with staff, which for me and my mother is very reassuring. After two and a half years, my mum's room could most definitely do with a lick of paint. I'm tempted to do it myself as it won't take long and I'm sure no one would notice. Reception being staffed Monday-Friday is still a bit erratic. Waiting to gain entry is still frustrating. The weekend reception is very good indeed.

Excellent staff. They care for my uncle and every member of staff talk to him and us. He looks well and the people have taken care of him. He's happy and so are we. Thank you to everyone at the care home for supporting my uncle with his special needs and wants.

Dad originally came in for respite care but the care shown by all the staff made it easy to make it his permanent home. The kindness and professionalism shown to Dad with all his ailments have meant I no longer worry about him as I know he is being well looked after. The friendly staff (especially the team leaders) keep me up to date and informed of any issues. I highly recommend Glendale.

The staff are excellent, caring and always go above and beyond. The accommodation is wonderful. My brother always looks well cared for. The staff are supportive in every way possible. He is always entertained with activities and games, every day of the week. My brother says the food is excellent. I have peace of mind knowing he's so well looked after and safe.

My mum recently passed away. She had only been at Glendale for four months, however, from our very first visit, we were thoroughly impressed with the home and the carers. From the initial greeting, the receptionists were so cheerful and couldn't do enough to please us and we always received a welcome greeting. For the short time Mum was at Glendale, she received wonderful care and all her needs were met by the carers, cleaners and housekeeping. All the carers we met were compassionate and friendly. We received regular calls to update us with any of Mum's medical needs and they kept us fully informed. Thank you to all the hardworking staff at Glendale, your care is appreciated.

My mother died earlier this month after fifteen months at Glendale. The care she received was usually good and sometimes excellent. On the day my mother died, team leaders and carers were extremely kind, compassionate and respectful. Overall, however, my view of Glendale has been tarnished by poor leadership, management and communication; poor information sharing, misunderstandings, lack of compassion in face-to-face meetings and unanswered emails when clarification was sought. My mother died on a Sunday, and the staff that day were wonderful, however, in the days that followed we received no message of condolence from managers - disgraceful.

My friend is well looked after and cared for very well.

Overall, all staff are very pleasant to visitors and residents. Activities are encouraged but you can lead a horse to water but cannot make it drink, that is my cousin set in her old ways. The only complaint I have as a visitor is the lack of available seating for taking into the resident's room as sitting on beds or cupboards is not the best option. Plus the option to purchase a drink on a long visit would be nice to share with the resident.

It is a happy place, the staff are very polite and do support my nan. Staff have a good understanding of my nan, her likes and dislikes, games or TV shows. Activities are very hit and miss, could be more willing to do them. Food is nice, it is presented lovely and she is given an option. There are two staff members in particular who stand out and are excellent.

All care workers are amazing. Reception, both weekdays and weekends, are first class. Food is very good but very dry e.g. fish cake, new potatoes and peas with no sauce e.g. parsley sauce. The cleaner is excellent. My mother is very well cared for.
