From the first time we visited when looking at Linwood for our Mum we were welcomed warmly and made to feel extremely welcome. After our Mum only having been in there for a month before lockdown it made us feel so much better knowing that she was in safe hands and would be looked after! The staff are friendly and available and look after the families which is reassuring. They have helped make a hard time much easier! I would recommend Linwood to anyone for a family member.

My mother lived at Linwood for nearly three years. Sadly she died in October. It is a very hard decision to seek a care home for your loved one. We were so grateful that we chose Linwood. In her first two years, she was so stimulated and joined in with all the activities, despite her increasing dementia. We always felt welcome as a family visiting and friends too, were always greeted and offered cups of tea in a quiet space to sit with Mum. Lovely touches, having a family group Christmas meal with Mum. And birthdays too. We felt like part of the Linwood family. Unfortunately, many things had to change with the Covid pandemic from March this year. Linwood did their best to help us keep in touch. We were able to Skype call, and a staff member would help Mum with the technology. We had a few window and garden visits, which were also great to see her in person, albeit with such big restrictions. When Mum came to her end of life, we were impressed by the compassion and care shown.

I have already recommended Linwood to others. I have always been impressed by the high quality of care, the variety and number of activities and the friendly, happy atmosphere created by the staff. In addition, the decor and furniture, following the recent makeover, are excellent and more reminiscent of a pleasant boutique hotel than a care home. Our mother was treated with great care and dignity in her final days and we were very grateful to have been allowed to sit by her side throughout her last days, despite these difficult Covid times.

Mum and Dad arrived around March 2020 having both been admitted to hospital and being unable to go home. Dad adjusted well, but Mum was up and down. Dad died while at the home, and in the time before he passed on, all staff including the cleaning staff gave above and beyond quality care, and total respect. Mums health is up and down, so when she is in good health, she enjoys her time at Linwood, when not, then she gets a little down and her views vary. Her diet has been up and down, but once her needs were fully understood, things were much better. A frustration is when staff say they will return within a certain timeline and don't always return. That also appears to be the nature of the care business when things pop up unexpectedly. That apart, staff are kind and put themselves out, and a number make her feel special. When visiting, I feel the staff are very understanding and helpful, and again, there are those that give above and beyond. We receive a very professional service from all staff.

Linwood have been looking over my mother for the last 6 or 7 months. She was admitted just prior to the COVID situation and have been very supportive and caring to my mother in what can only be described as extremely difficult circumstances.

I can highly recommend this home due to the way the staff seem to care not only for the residents but also provide support and advice for relatives.

Thank you to the manager and the team.

I would certainly recommend Linwood – and in-fact have done so in the last six months to relatives of someone already in care but unhappy with their service.
I would usually visit my mother twice a week but of course this is not currently possible. However, the staff have been very helpful to us with Skype and when necessary a phone call on Mother’s behalf. They have gone the extra mile with the care they give, for example a manicure which I would normally have done, and they make time for an informal chat with residents.

Linwood is clean, tidy and welcoming, last year’s refurbishment is tasteful and homely. There is always a cheery hello and a cup of tea. Any queries or issues are promptly dealt with, and updates on a resident’s condition (e.g. following a doctor’s visit) are always telephoned through. I feel that I am kept fully informed.

An excellent care home that I previously recommended to a friend when their mother needed to move into a care home. My mother has been at Linwood for over 5 years. The home has undergone a major refurbishment which has transformed its appearance. The staff are amazing - nothing is too much trouble and all are so caring. The home has been brilliant during the pandemic in contrast to others that one hears about in the media.

I know what good care looks like as my mum, who has Parkinson’s, is in an outstanding home in Wimbledon. I cannot comment in any detail about the care that my aunt received because the home refused to communicate with me or my sister or my aunt’s own sister and next of kin. My aunt was transferred from hospital to Linwood on the day of lockdown. We left so many messages in order to get an update on how she was settling in and despite our simple request to be communicated the home‘s newsletter, we were never called back. When she died 10 days ago, her death was communicated by a police officer and my aunt’s next of kin was not spoken to by the home for a further 5 days. Even for the cynical and in the context of Covid crisis, this treatment is terrible. When we finally spoke to someone and asked for my aunt’s address book to be sent so we could tell her friends, this was posted to us with no message at all. The only response we got was talking to the home’s finance department to settle her bill.

Linwood care home provided a last home for my mother where she lived happily in comfort and with friends. During the last year of her life which was a difficult time for her due to increasing dementia, the whole team at Linwood provided wonderful, thoughtful, kind and empathetic care on a daily basis. The management provided dedication, leadership and professionalism to support the Linwood team.

First of all, Linwood is a very welcoming, clean and tidy place to be, inside and outside in the gardens. I am always very impressed by the dignity and kindness that all residents are given every time I have visited my mother. It is such a reassuring comfort to know that she is always being very well looked after. If there are any medical concerns, I am always contacted to discuss the best treatment for her. As a relative, I know that I am always made to feel welcome when visiting and any issues or concerns that I may have are always responded to quickly and with full consideration. There is always up to date information about activities for the residents plus regular meetings for the relatives as well. The manager and her team are dealing very well with the Covid crisis putting extra measures in place and keeping relatives informed at all times. Each new approach to keeping in touch whether by FaceTime or the proposed new safe visits, is dealt with very efficiently and responsibly.

My 86 year old father arrived at Linwood in January 2020. It was a big upheaval for him having lived independently since my mother’s passing eight years previously. All the staff at Linwood welcomed my dad warmly and with sensitivity. He settled quickly and was soon praising the staff for all the amazing care he received. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were attentive without being intrusive.
It was particularly hard during Covid-19 but the staff went over and above to help us maintain contact when Dad struggled to used technology. The staff would call me to enable Dad and I to have that oh so precious chat.

I would absolutely have no hesitation to recommend Linwood Care Home. The manager and her team are truly dedicated to making every resident feel part of their caring community.

From the very first show round of the care home to the initial meeting of the manager, we have been so very impressed with everything. The home itself is clean, fresh and so well maintained; it’s modern and has such a spacious feel with a variety of rooms to suit every resident. The food is really good and the home bakes cakes... amazing! However, the real winner is the team of staff here, their professionalism but above all their friendliness and care is really incredible. My father was well looked after, staff took the time to know him and many went over and above to ensure he felt like he mattered, not just a number or a job to be done. We have felt welcome whenever we visited and communication between us and the care team was really good. I would not hesitate to recommend Linwood.

What a wonderful place this has become in the last year. I have been visiting this place for a while now and I have seen massive improvements from structure to staff behaviour and care being provided since new manager has joined. I don't think CQC rating justifies how wonderful this place is. Even I think CQC's own report doesn't justify the rating. I will strongly recommend to the people to not look at the report but actually go and see the place. Highly recommended.

Recent changes have been made and there is a huge difference at Linwood. The environment is nice, everything is new. There are so many activities going on, and the home is buzzing with laughter and happiness. If you want a quiet place, there are plenty of lovely cosy little lounges, where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea. Staff and management are always happy to help and they are so friendly.
