First class care home, my Mother-in-law is very happy and well looked after by excellent staff, all staff are always very welcoming when we visit.
since being in Eridge House Mums health has improved due to the excellent care given by staff, standards of care is excellent and daily events are arrange,
which she enjoys, participating in. The garden is nice to sit in when weather conditions allow.
There is always coffee and a cake for visitors to enjoy, a fantastic home for Mum.

- Excellent access to relevant management team members and direct communication of results.
- Staff members in general appear to have a genuine desire to provide excellent care and support to residents with dignity being paramount.
- Food is good considering various diets, but perhaps more variety
could be considered in choice of vegetables.
- Good policies in place to provide equality and balance of service to individuals.

My mum came into Eridge House in a very depressed and negative state. The change in her is incredible. She is happy, settled and feels that life is worth living. The home is full of happiness and warmth. There are always fun activities. The staff are dedicated, caring, and are really happy with their
work - you can feel it. The residents are lovely and all seem really happy and well cared for. It was the best decision made for our precious mum.

Mum has settled in very well since she came to EH in Jan'25. The staff are very kind and patient with her, even though she can be difficult at times due to her Alzheimer's.
All staff are courteous, helpful, really lovely!
EH is very homely and the facilities and activities are excellent. Mum has
told me that she's happy to be here. She feels safe and well cared for. My brother and I are very satisfied with everything/service provided.

My Dad spent approximately 8 weeks at Eridge House after suffering a fall at home and subsequent fractured hip. Our family felt my Dad would benefit from the safe and caring environment of a residential home whilst rehabilitating and regaining his confidence.
Eridge House was already on my radar having
been highly recommended and so choosing a residential home was easy.
The process of organising a period of respite at Eridge was made smooth and simple with the help of the excellent management team there. My Dad and other family members were also free to contact the team to ask questions prior to his admission.
My Dad really enjoyed his stay at Eridge and still talks fondly about all the lovely staff he met.
As soon as you walk into Eridge House it feels homely and welcoming. The staff are exceptional at putting residents and relatives at ease with their warm, cheerful approach.
The care my Dad received was excellent and activities organised for residents were an added bonus.

My father recently moved into Eridge House at the beginning of July , the stress related to finding the correct home for your loved ones can obviously be very difficult and overwhelming hoping that you are finding the right place for them . I was fortunate to already have some guidance from outside
sources regarding this home on how well it is run and how friendly and caring their staff and management are . My father has now been there for just over 3 months and I could not wish for a better home to care for him , the staff seem to be more like a family than just a care home and the whole experience in the home from both a visitors and a residents point of view is so friendly and welcoming , I know that my father has improved both his mental health and his physical health since moving into the home and wouldn't want to be anywhere else , I would highly recommend this home and believe all the staff deserve recognition for all their hard work in making this home so well run.

My mother has now resided at Eridge House for the last 15 months as a permanent resident. Although she had a shaky start with settling in and getting used to life in a carehome through no fault of her own due to mild Dementia and memory problems it was the staffs total dedication to her welfare that
pulled her through. From management to hands-on staff, not once have I felt worried in any area of mums care. She is always spotlessly clean as is her room and toilet, and the food is nothing but amazing , in fact the smell of cooking when you walk in just makes the whole environment feel more like a 5 star country hotel rather than a carehome. The continuous entertainment and workshops provided during the days is incredible and when the animals turn up it's smiles all round especially from my mum . In all I cannot recommend Eridge House enough and if you are lucky enough to get a residency there for yourself or a member of your family you've definitely won the lottery.

Urged by family members to have a respite period, I was very impressed by the standard of care by each member of staff. Always cheerful and anxious to please. I felt confident that I could rely on any member of staff to assist me at all times. I shall return when I feel unable to carry on alone!

Eridge is a fabulous home-from-home when support, kindness and care is required. The staff are professional, attentive, friendly and compassionate.
My parents moved into Eridge care home together, both in their nineties. They needed a full and diverse range of personal and physical care, and the
wonderful staff were gracious and compassionate, as well as skilled and efficient. My parents were very happy there.
The food and mealtimes were friendly and enjoyable as well as delicious and nutritious. There are a variety of activities offered most days, so there is company and interest if required.
I can't recommend this home highly enough. I was amazed, thankful and so happy to visit. All the staff are welcoming and professional; they are amazing people and a great team. All my parent's medical needs were managed professionally, but there is also a sparkle and warmth - that is the core of it for me. Perfect.

Very happy with this hotel style care home. The staff are warm and professional. Food is lovely and lots available.the staff keep the residents very entertained with lots of topics, quizzes, music etc. 1st Class.

My mother has been very unwell, and after a short stay in hospital, returned to Eridge House. The care she received was outstanding.The staff were very patient, caring and attentive.They supported mum so well she has now made a full recovery, able to walk and dress herself again, and fully participate

I feel my nan is very well looked after, nan is always smiling. The activities were amazing when the Activities Coordinator did it. I know the staff are tying their best with activities and maybe they are being done at different times I just haven't seen as much. Overall I am very happy with everything.
The staff are very friendly and informative. I definitely recommend the home. Some staff are better at updates than others and some do not acknowledge you.

Heidi

Heidi Haddow

Job Title: Proprietor Joined: 1988

Heidi has a wealth of experience in the health and social care sector, including working as a manager of a care home prior to becoming the proprietor of Eridge House.


In Heidi's words... I have had the privilege of owning Eridge House since 1988. I have lived in Bexhill for most of my life and for ten years I held the post as a trustee for two local charities which I found most rewarding. One of my biggest achievements is seeing the development of Eridge House from registration of fourteen in 1988 to that of forty-three older people today. Embracing the changing ways in which we work, and the diverse and skilled team led by our Directors and Managers.

Laura

Laura Witham

Job Title: Director Joined: 2018

Laura is responsible for managing the management team and working closely with Heidi to oversee the running of Eridge House as a business, alongside Nicole.


In Laura's words... My first ever job was at Eridge House as a teenager. I went on to become a Care Assistant here, obtained my NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, and after a few years away I returned as manager in 2018 until 2022 alongside Nicole. I thoroughly enjoyed my role here as manager and am thrilled to remain working at Eridge House, now in the role of Director. I have achieved my NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care and have experience working in both a care home setting and as a domiciliary care provider. Working at Eridge House has always felt special. People often comment on the homely and friendly feel and that is something the entire team are dedicated to providing for all residents and their loved ones.

Nicole

Nicole Witham

Job Title: Director Joined: 2017

Nicole is responsible for managing the management team and working closely with Heidi to oversee the running of Eridge House as a business, alongside Laura.


In Nicole's words... When I was offered the job of Supper Assistant at the age of 14 at Eridge House I never imagined that I would become a Director here alongside my sister, Laura. After travelling and acquiring various work experience, I was delighted to return to Eridge House, first in the role of Accounts Manager, to then go on to become the Registered Manager, and now a Director. The friendly atmosphere makes Eridge an enjoyable place to work alongside our dynamic team. My role requires commitment, dedication, and diversity and this is incredibly rewarding. I have obtained my NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care.

Rhia

Rhia Laloo

Rhia is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of Eridge House.


In Rhia's words... I started working at Eridge House during the first COVID-19 lockdown. I had every intention of staying on board as bank staff and returning to my old job, however, when I was offered a permanent role at Eridge House, I couldn't say no, I loved the homely feel and knew I would be happy here with such a good team around me and lovely residents. Alongside Marie, Samantha is responsible for assisting Rhia in managing the home and providing support to our Care Assistants in their role. “From the young age of 13, I found myself drawn to caring. I started out as a tea girl in a residential home, but what I hadn’t realised then was that it was a calling for a lifelong career. I have gained my Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care and Dementia qualifications and stepped into more complex roles and eventually into leadership. After working my way up the chain, I am now Assistant Manager. I really love working at Eridge House, especially the wonderful team and lovely residents”

Janet is responsible for the financial aspects of running Eridge House and provides support on Human Resources matters for the team.


“I joined the Eridge House team in 2024 after working in the financial industry for 40 years, and I have really enjoyed getting to know the team and all the residents. I have worked with small businesses in my previous role and in the voluntary sector for so I hope this experience will benefit my contribution to Eridge House.
