The care is excellent. The assistant managers, Samantha and Marie, truly care about the residents and are proactive about their needs. All sorts of activities are arranged throughout the month, and the food is freshly cooked in house. A lovely care home.

Since joining the home my mum has benefitted from excellent personal care. The staff are warm and friendly. Their focus is on providing excellent support and care for my mum and her immediate family. Eridge House is like a home from home. I always enjoy visiting as I feel welcomed. Any concerns are
promptly dealt with. The food is excellent. My mum is in good health, despite numerous health problems. I would recommend Eridge House to anyone needing extra care and support. It is a warm and caring environment for not just its residents but their family.

My parents are both here sharing a twin room. Mum has had some health issues, which were quickly dealt with by the staff here. She spent 3 days in the hospital and is now back and is settling back in. My father, an ex-chef, seems happy with the meals here. Good home cooking, fresh cakes each day are
available so no complaints on that score. All considered, I am very happy with their treatment at Eridge House.

My mother in law moved into Eridge House on 23rd February having spent 8 weeks in hospital, and it was my husband and I that had to view and decide a home for her to move into, we went to Eridge House, and both came out of there saying the same, that's the one! It's so homely, cosey and inviting, the
room offered to us was bright, clean and just so lovely. I admit I was very anxious on the day my mother in law moved in from hospital, but I had no need to worry, she has been there nearly 3 weeks now and is so happy and content, she loves everything about it, the food, the staff , the room and the other residents, so all in all, we couldn't be happier to have placed her in such a lovely care home .
Reply from Rhia Laloo, Registered Manager at Eridge HouseThank you for your kind feedback. We are delighted to hear your Mother in Law has settled in so well and is enjoying her time here at Eridge. Your comments mean so much to the whole team!

My mother moved into Elridge House in the middle of October, after living in the same house for 63 years. As you can imagine, it was very daunting. From the first day, the staff have been wonderful, helping her adjust to her new surroundings. They are always smiling and cheerful. Everyone is very caring
and attentive and always keep me up to date with any concerns or changes to medication etc. I cannot praise them enough. Also the food and entertainment is amazing with good choices and encouragement to join in the activities.

My sister has been a resident for the past 3 months, and we were worried how she would settle. We need not have worried, she settled very quickly and has been very happy throughout. The staff have all been great with us all. We were very lucky and very grateful to you all. One day, when I took her out,
she asked Am I going back, and I said to Eridge House. She said yes, I confirmed where she was going, she replied oh, good. Says it all!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.827)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.827) out of 10 for Eridge House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 48 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.827 for Eridge House is calculated as follows: ( (481 Excellents x 5) + (85 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 573 Ratings = 4.827
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Eridge House is based on 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 48 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
