Woodlands have cared for both my parents for nearly 3 years now and we are very happy with the care they offer.
They go above and beyond to ensure the residents are happy and cared for on a daily basis and offer a orogramme of entertainment to keep them engaged.
The freshly cooked food always looks great and Mum and Dad really enjoy it.
We are kept up to date regularly with their progress and any medical issues are dealt with promptly.

I would thoroughly recommend Woodlands.

Always happy, caring atmosphere. Mum always clean and as tidy as possible. Only negative point is the financial department at Head Office. Statements are never sent nor invoices. Caused huge problems when dealing with ESCC., and when they are sent, it is far too confusing. It has cost me over £1000 in accountants fees to sort. Hopefully after all this time we are straight!

My father has become a resident of Woodlands and I could not be more pleased with the home. The building is well maintained and kept clean. He really enjoys the food, which can be a challenge with him. All the staff are great. They are very caring and have endless patience. Highly recommended.

My dad came for 2-week respite. He seems to have been happy and taken part in the activities. Should he need further time in a care home, I would be happy for him to return.

This was a last minute booking. Immediately upon walking in, I could see that this is a happy, homely place. All the staff I came in touch with were lovely. The food looked fabulous, which would make my dad happy. It is clean, comfortable and run by kind, caring staff. Will definitely use again. The most important thing, of course, is that my dad was happy!

I cannot fault the care that mum receives here. The staff are kind and thoughtful, know the residents' likes and dislikes and all their individual needs. The activities are well thought out and relevant. The carers appear kind and sympathetic to the residents' needs. Very happy knowing mum is safe and cared for.

My Mother is a resident of Woodlands Care Home. I visit often with my wife. The care home is good in all care, activities, and safety/security and satisfactory in all other areas. It seems well managed and the staff are fine. I would like to see more care staff and perhaps more individual choices of food.

Mum had been at Woodlands since February 2020 and was well cared for despite being a little bit fussy. Nothing was too much trouble for the care staff. In September she became unwell and didn't want to go to hospital. She passed away at Woodlands under the care of the capable and lovely staff. Myself and my sister were glad that her wishes were listened to and we were grateful for the care that she received. She left this world in a peaceful place. Thank you all.

Communication between Woodlands staff and us is excellent, we receive regular updates and opportunities to discuss Mum's care. We recently attended the second relatives meeting where several of the staff team contributed to inform us of important aspects of the day-to-day running of the home- recruitment of staff, catering, activities and events, maintenance etc. The team encouraged feedback from relatives and responded constructively to suggestions. In addition, we always feel able to speak to any member of the staff if we have a query about Mum and know we have been listened to. We appreciate that relatives can visit at any time and are included in many of the events and activities. Our experience is that Woodlands promote openness in communication with relatives. Thank you all.

I am passionate about my work. I enjoy the variety of work and meeting new people and supporting them at time when they need help and reassurance. I absolutely love bringing energy and creativity to every activity and watch how residents’ faces light up.

"I joined in April 2024. My journey in the care field started in 2017, beginning with my BTEC in Nursing, which equipped me with a strong foundation for my career. Following comprehensive training in various hospital settings, including emergency, intensive care, and palliative care, I transitioned to roles in care homes. Starting as a support worker and progressing to assistant general manager back in Spain, I discovered genuine fulfilment in this environment.

Since relocating to the UK, I've served as a Senior Carer whilst qualifying as a Biomedical Scientist. What draws me most to working with older people is the profound sense of gratitude they express when receiving care and support. Witnessing their appreciation fuels my passion for this work every day.

In my role, I support the manager and team to make sure our residents receive the highest standard of care possible. I'm dedicated to providing compassionate support and assistance and fostering a sense of security and comfort for residents in our care."
