Thank you for your kind words, we appreciate the great feedback and will pass this on to the team. It was our pleasure to look after your dad, as he was a lovely man who was a major part of the Place Farm Family and will be sorely missed by all.
Having lived in the same house for 60 years we were a little apprehensive as to how Dad would react to the change of environment.
We didn't need to worry as all the team at Place
I cannot recommend Place Farm highly enough.

Karen initially joined Place Farm as the Deputy Manager in 2017 and then became the Registered Manager in 2019. Karen has worked in care since she left school and it has always been her passion to help and care for others. She previously worked as a Deputy Manager in a Dementia Nursing Home in Brighton and prior to this, as an activities co-ordinator. Karen completed her level 5 in Leadership Management & Health and Social Care in 2017
Karen has developed Place Farm's service to ensure it provides intimate care to our residents which they can enjoy in a relaxing environment. This is taking a long time to develop and building of a strong and supporting team is an ongoing process. Karen has been integral to ongoing success of Place Farm during the disruptive COVID pandemic as well as the extensive development of the building and grounds between 2022-2025
Longer-term, Karen really enthused about improving Place Farm House with the aim to be an Outstanding rated care home one day.
Mandy lives and breathes Place Farm having worked with us since 2001. Mandy was made Welfare Champion in 2017 and then in 2020 she stepped up to become our senior carer. This is a wide and varied role which supports the care staff on the floor, but also supporting Charlie and Karen in management work such as care plans and medication. Mandy enjoys seeing the residents are happy and comfortable in their lives at Place Farm and looks after the presentation of the bedrooms to ensure they nice and homely for the residents.
Mandy says: "We are committed to this as a team to ensure Place Farm House remains one of the best residential Homes in Sussex and dare I say, in the UK. It's been tough times in the care sector with COVID but our staff are second to none and when it comes to Place Farm, it is how a residential home should be."
We are a family run care home and took Place Farm on in September 2016. I was the Registered Manager between 2016 and 2019 and this allowed me to intimately understand the running of the home and develop and strengthen how we provide care to our residents and recruit the best staff to enable this.
I believe that a quality home and service comes from leading by example and setting the highest standards throughout the home to give our staff pride in their daily work life and working at Place Farm House. I am a very hands-on owner, living nearby in Brighton and I want Place Farm to be the best home in Brighton so it not only does justice to the name, but also, justice to the outstanding quality care I think we already provide.
My previous work background has been in care, particularly having grown up in my teenage years at our other home, Abbey lodge in Kent. I qualified as a nurse in 2007 and have had experience in various hospital care settings including elderly and post-surgical care. I have gained healthcare management experience in NHS primary care and commercial experience in the Pharmaceutical industry and latterly in business development and marketing for BMI Healthcare, a national private hospital provider. This experience has been consolidated by completing a Business Management HND at Brighton Business School in 2015.
I am now the manager at our Worthing home (The Shelley) and I continue to support Place Farm and Karen on a daily and weekly basis to ensure it remains as good as it can be
