We have found the experience to be first class. The staff are amazing, so caring , supportive, helpful and attentive. The facilities are excellent.
It is a beautiful residential home.
She is very happy here and is recovering nicely.
Thank you to everyone for your support.
Cannot recommend this home enough for your relatives/friends enough.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I feel rested and confident to go home.
The food has been amazing and every effort has been made to encourage Dad to eat to improve his health.
There has always been someone I can have a chat with when needed about Dad's health.
I'm so pleased we found Place Farm and the wonderful, caring, calm and fun staff.
A big thank you to everyone.
I have had connections with Place Farm House for over ten years, firstly, care for my beloved aunty and now my precious mum. I have never had any anxiety or concerns that the care was, is, ever less than 100%. The staff always engage with any worries or questions I have with kindness and respect. Leaving one's most dear family members is the hardest decision and I will be forever thankful to Place Farm for making this transition.
Place Farm House, what a wonderful place for people to recuperate from an illness or long-term care. The staff are very friendly and supportive. Management excellent and provided guidance and support when needed. Even when undergoing renovation work the home was spotlessly clean. Great place to stay.
Feeling anxious about entering a care home, my fears were dispelled by such welcoming staff, comfortable bed, lovely food and the atmosphere that surrounds you at Place Farm House. Cheerfulness and so caring. I would come back. Grateful thanks to all the staff, you have been amazing.
Very happy with the care I receive and comfortable and clean. Food really good. Staff excellent, always there when needed.
All the staff at Place Farm House are wonderful and go about their work with diligence, patience and humour. They’re all so calm and nothing is too much trouble. My dad was there for five years and always referred to it as his 'home'. He enjoyed his food and a chat and I’m pleased to say that at Place Farm House he thoroughly enjoyed the home-cooked food and staff have the time and inclination for a good old conversation. He did not want for anything in terms of the facilities, he was comfortable and entertained, either through the home run activities/excursions (varied and fun), the TV in his room, reading on his tablet, and chats with staff and other residents. His heart's desire was to end his days at Place Farm House and following a few days of Palliative care this came to be. The staff were just amazing during this time with input and medical care from a local hospice. We are so very grateful. He was in his bed, in his room, in his home.
Thank you for your kind words, we appreciate the great feedback and will pass this on to the team. It was our pleasure to look after your dad, as he was a lovely man who was a major part of the Place Farm Family and will be sorely missed by all.
Just to say what a very pleasant time I had here and how wonderful the staff were. I must have been a pain at times, demanding this and that. I'd recommend anyone to have a stay here. I shall be dropping in to say 'hi' to them in the future and meet up with all the patients whom I got to know very well. So all the best to everyone, regards and love.
A lovely care home, with wonderful, caring and friendly staff who looked after my mother so well during her recent respite stay. We are so grateful for all the attention and care she received from everyone, and for making sure Mum was comfortable and that she felt safe and secure. Thanks again to all the management, carers, kitchen staff and domestic staff.
What a lovely atmosphere Place Farm House has, the staff and manager are so welcoming to new residents and families. The food is such good quality, my mother would definitely love to stay here again.
I was greeted by the manager who was very warming.
My auntie is very happy and would not go anywhere else.
Staff are really nice and they look after all the residents very well.
Visiting your relative is no problem to staff. Parking in the street is normally quite easy. A village coffee shop is in easy reach of the home.
All the staff at Place Farm House are a pleasure to deal with and always have the best interests of the residents at the forefront pf their minds. When the new building work is completed before the end of 2023, then Place Farm House will be scoring even higher marks. I would definitely recommend Place Farm House.
Generally, when visiting our friend we are made welcome. The care given is excellent and the home is clean and tidy. Food is tailored to meet our friend's vegetarian preferences. We are completely happy with the care provided to our friend.
Well looked after and very happy.
Everyone is so friendly. I like everything about the Place Farm House. The food is always excellent.
My mother has experienced excellent care during her stay at Place Farm House. I would highly recommend this home, all the staff are first rate, with nothing being too much trouble. It really is a home from home.
I have found Place Farm House to be a home from home for my mum. The staff and management are exceptional. From the moment you arrive, you can't help but notice the laughter, respect, kindness and helpfulness that radiate from the staff. Another blessing for me (living abroad) was the relative gateway app (electronic internet care diary) It enabled me to stay connected with mum's care and needs and everyday life.

Meet the Team (3)

The family business originally started with the purchase of Abbey Lodge in Hythe in 1996, with Liz running the home with her husband Neil & the family living in the flat above the home. This has given both Liz & Andy a unique depth of experience and insight caring for the elderly, and this is manifest in the running of Place Farm House.
Having since retired and sold Abbey Lodge, Liz takes a keen interest in supporting Andy, who oversees the running of Place Farm House and is the Registered Manager at their sister home, The Shelley. After growing up around Abbey Lodge, Andy sought his own healthcare career, initially training as a Registered Nurse and working in post-operative care. Andy’s wider management experience developed managing NHS contracts and then more latterly as an Account Manager for BMI Healthcare.
Liz & Andy strongly believe in providing a fulfilling and tranquil setting where the elderly can enjoy their lives, in a person-centred way.

Karen has developed Place Farm's service to ensure it provides intimate care to our residents which they can enjoy in a relaxing environment. This is taking a long time to develop and building of a strong and supporting team is an ongoing process. Karen has been integral to ongoing success of Place Farm during the disruptive COVID pandemic as well as the extensive development of the building and grounds between 2022-2025
Longer-term, Karen really enthused about improving Place Farm House with the aim to be an Outstanding rated care home one day.

Mandy & Elaine are an important part of the daily care which is provided to the residents, and oversee the running of the wider care team on shift. Amongst their many roles, they ensure the residents are comfortable & have their medical needs catered for, working closely with GPs & professionals. Mandy & Elaine are also heavily involved in medication management and wound care.
Mandy has worked at Place Farm since 2001 & is part of the fabric of the home. Previously, she was the home's Welfare Champion before moving into her current role. Elaine had previous experience as a foster carer and then in community home care before moving to Place Farm in 2021.
