I was able to relax knowing that my sister was safe and well cared for at all times. She could get up and go to bed when she wished and choose whether to join in the many activities. Her health was monitered and I was kept informed of any changes. When eating became difficult, care was taken to assist
in every possible way. I have great respect for the staff who do a difficult and demanding job with cheerfulness, patience and kindness.

I am incredibly thankful for the exceptional care my mother has received at Augusta Court during her one year there. The management and staff members are not only professional and friendly but also genuinely caring, providing attentive support to meet all of her needs with a warm heart. My mother enjoys
participating in various activities offered at the care home, which keep residents engaged and content.
The facility's inviting ambience is complemented by the delicious food provided, as well as the delightful tradition of afternoon tea. Overall, I am deeply grateful to the compassionate and devoted team at Augusta Court for their unwavering dedication to making my mother feel valued and cherished every day.

Augusta Court provides a safe, caring home for my father, who is 90 and was diagnosed with dementia. He can be 'difficult' on occasion but this is handled sensibly and sensitively by the staff.
I have only good things to say about the management and staff. They are proactive, helpful, calm and caring.
The manager always has time to discuss any concerns and is an excellent role model for her staff.

My aunt really loves to whole experience at Augusta Court Care Home. She is blooming and looks better now than at any time in the last five years or so. All staff are welcoming, supportive to both her and our needs. At a recent family get-together for her birthday, the staff accommodated our needs beyond
our expectations.
Thank you.

Our mum lived at Augusta Court for the last year of her life and we were very happy with the care she received. The home is well organised and despite the challenges of caring for the confused and elderly, the staff are remarkably kind. They strike a good balance between protecting the vulnerable and
allowing as much freedom as possible.
Her room was comfortable with an ensuite wet room, kitchen area and door out to a small patio area and secure garden. The windows were large enough to give a good view but not so large as to allow sunlight to overheat the room. We placed flower pots and bird feeders to make it homely.
As she became more frail, the home provided a motorised bed and a motion sensor to alert the staff if she got up and in the final days she was gently and regularly turned, washed and made comfortable in a calm environment.
We would recommend it.

Since my father joined the Augusta Court community last year I have found the standard of care to be excellent. There is a real focus on my father's individual needs and he often comments on how lovely the team is. The home has a lovely feel and is always very welcoming and relaxed when we visit. This,
despite the obvious recent challenges of Covid where the team has been working very hard 'behind the scenes' to make daily life normal for the residents. The outdoor garden areas are particularly enjoyed by my father and (as with inside the property) are well looked after. Each resident has a spacious flat with its own kitchen area.

From the first meetings with two different staff members, our impression was of a caring and competent establishment. On his first day, Dad was shaved and his chosen picture was printed and put outside his room that same afternoon.
All staff, no matter what their role, were understanding and patient.
They showed Dad and all his relatives that visited over what became a short stay, great care and compassion.
Knowing that the fees were fixed at a flat rate, meant that if Dad's care needs increased slightly, this was not an issue. Recognising star members using nominations is a good idea, but, along with the numerous Covid related questions, it made signing in and out a more lengthy process. We were conscious of keeping staff waiting for longer than might have been necessary.
We are very happy to recommend Augusta Court as an excellent place for a resident to stay.

My family and I have seen the care my mother has received for well over two years. We feel reassured she is safe and her needs are met by the caring and very cheerful staff. It is good to see and hear of the range of activities for Mum to do and know of the comfort she has, when necessary. Whilst we
do feel the cost of her care is high, we are happy with the quality of her life. Thank you.

The care my grandmother receives is excellent. It's personalised to her needs, and she is very happy there. The food is good, and the entertainment is varied. She always seems to be treated with respect and is happy to go back when she has been out. Highly recommended to anyone requiring this level

Large airy room, always clean. The patient and his clothes are always clean. Variety of activities early on, but little activities now.
Food is excellent if someone helps him throughout the meal. I have never heard a carer raise his/her voice to anyone.
Kindness and care prevail.

My mum stayed here for six weeks, she had the most amazing stay at Augusta Court. I had never seen her laugh and smile so much in quite a few years and it was the place that she passed away in. The staff went beyond their job descriptions, nothing was too much for them, I'm sure if you looked closely
you would have seen a pair of wings on their backs. In the last few weeks of her life, they gave her love and smiles and care that melted our hearts, and in the final week, they cared for us as well. The events and things they provide for the residents are fun, and entertaining, and help residents mix and keep active in many ways. The room or as Mum said her flat was a fantastic size and we could take any furniture or pictures in that we liked to make Mum feel at home. Thank you Augusta Court.

Mum has been resident in Augusta Court Care Home for almost two years. It is a lovely care home and she has enjoyed living there. The staff are wonderful, very kind and caring and have really got to know Mum. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and also spotless. Mum is always clean and well-dressed
in her own clothes, she sees a hairdresser every week. There are numerous activities that Mum has enjoyed joining in with. She enjoys the excellent food and likes having a choice at all meals.
Mum went into Augusta Court during the Covid epidemic, the staff managed this very well and throughout Mum was allowed visitors as long as they kept to obvious health rules.
The staff are in close contact with family members at all times. Any little problem is immediately reported to us. As a family, we feel that Mum is safe and well cared for. She has also enjoyed lots of good, varied experiences with excellent support. We are very grateful to the staff for the excellent all-round care Mum has received.

My mum stayed here while I went on holiday. She went in a few days before I went away so I could see her settled. On my return, she had been well looked after. The carers always very helpful and kind. Mum had good words to say about them all and said they were all very kind and caring. She said the
food was lovely and joined in some activities. Did have a few issues with her hearing aids which is important for mum but this was sorted quite quickly. I would not hesitate if I needed mum to return for further respite or even when the day comes that I can't give her the full care she needs. Rooms are basic but obviously if to go there permanently you'd take their belongings to make it more homely. The home itself is very homely, friendly and welcoming. Even has nice touches like a little area as a pub for residents to sit and a shop. All in all very pleased and mum was in good spirits on her return.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.758)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.758) out of 10 for Augusta Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 42 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.758 for Augusta Court is calculated as follows: ( (387 Excellents x 5) + (91 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 492 Ratings = 4.758
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Augusta Court is based on 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
