The staff look after everyone with great care and dignity.
The rooms are clean and fresh.
Mum settled so quickly with all the care and attention that she needed.

My mother has been a resident at Forest View since 2013 and before that, attended the daycare.
I have been extremely happy with her care and feel blessed to have such a wonderful team of kind, caring people attending to her every need.
We couldn't be happier with her "home away from home".

Forest View is a lovely facility, I looked at it with my Sister in law prior to my mother in law being homed there. It is a clean, modern building, with modern furnishings, it appeared to tick all of the boxes.

However, we were very disappointed with the level of care. Forest view are unable to

take blood pressure, my mother in law had a urine infection which was not picked up and she suffered for longer than she should have done.

The menu is very basic and we were told they didn't have the budget to offer fresh fruit. My mother in law always ate wholemeal bread at home but each time we visited she always had a white bread sandwich, we asked about this and were told she had the choice, though we were left in doubt.

My mother in law is now at another facility and 4 weeks on Forest View have still not returned all of my mother in law's clothes, we have been told they must be in the laundry which I find unacceptable given laundry is done on site.

I would not recommend Forest view, all that glitters really isn't gold.

My father was a resident at Forest View for just under a year. He was treated so well and his care and support were maintained to a high standard throughout. Sadly we 'lost' him on Christmas day but again he and the family were supported and cared for during this difficult time. Importantly, the dignity
of him as an individual was always there.

My father has settled well and we find him very relaxed and open. The fact that he can walk about from his room to the lounge/dining area and also through all the other open areas is of great benefit to him. The staff treat him with respect and great kindness.

My Wife's Aunt moved into Forest view in March 2018. All staff, from Manager, cleaner all treat her with respect and are all very friendly. When visiting, we note care being given to other residents and cannot fault what we see. We, as visitors, always receive a cheerful welcome. We are offered refreshments.
We have not been able to fault care being given to my relative.

Forest View has some excellent and caring members of staff. There are some cleaners who also care for residents by chatting to them, leading them to their rooms, looking for lost items and above all being friendly. I don't expect these things are in their job description but it makes a real difference.
Several carers go beyond the call of duty and show great kindness and awareness.

My mother is a resident at Forestview and she is extremely happy there and well looked after. I have nothing but appreciation for all the hardworking staff that work there. It's a shame that their efforts can't be rewarded and reflected in their pay packets. For what is a vital service, they don't
get paid nearly enough and for all those staff members that look after my mother, and other residents, at night, I was shocked to discover that they don't get paid any extra for working unsociable hours.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.747)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.747) out of 10 for Forest View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.747 for Forest View is calculated as follows: ( (265 Excellents x 5) + (72 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 344 Ratings = 4.747
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Forest View is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
