Deerswood Lodge

Deerswood held a Jubilee street party for all of the residents and invited friends and family. They were so helpful and got everyone out to celebrate. My nan loved it and got to celebrate with the ones she loves alongside other residents. We had scones, jam and cream, as well as cold drinks and lots of other food. Thank you Deerswood for letting us celebrate!

After the initial first months which were very difficult for Mum, she is now more settled due to the care and patience of the staff who take really good care of her. My sister and I are grateful for the care she receives which makes us more settled too.

Lovely, caring place. All the staff are friendly and look after my gran with exceptional. The building is always clean and cheerful.

My mother moved to Deerswood Lodge earlier this year (2022). All of the carers have made her feel welcome. The manager was very helpful in offering advice and making the move as smooth as possible. Whenever I visit my mother, she always seems settled.

My mother was admitted for 12 days respite care. Deerswood Lodge were extremely helpful from the minute we arrived until the minute we left. The team were amazing in their care towards my mother and I was notified immediately when my mother had a short period of being unwell. My sister and I agree that this is by far the best home she has been in and that is including some that we paid privately for. Thank you so very much.

When the time comes I just hope and pray that I can get him in with Deerswood. The staff are indescribably brilliant with him and he has never once complained to me about anything which takes a lot of strain away from a very difficult time when dementia is progressing to that awkward stage when I am thinking about permanent care for him. I have always found the staff, across the board, very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. I cannot recommend Deerswood Lodge high enough, if I could give them ten stars - I would! Well done team!

I have found all the staff very friendly and kind to my father. The staff in the office are extremely helpful and nothing is too much. The care staff attending to my father are very warm and show a great deal of care for him. They keep me informed as to his condition on the days I see him.

My dad is being looked after in very safe hands. The care he is receiving is second to none. Everyone so cheerful who I have seen. Nothing seems to be any trouble. The room is clean and tidy, as he also is. I would like to say a very big thank you and to say you are doing a wonderful job. I couldn't do it and remain so positive. Well done, all of you and thank you.

As someone visiting a resident, particularly during the Covid-19 situation, I have been welcomed and treated with friendly and courteous staff. The parts of the Deerswood Lodge Care Home I have visited are clean, tidy, light and airy. The resident has been made very comfortable and treated with warmth and respect. Although it wasn't a planned move to the home, she has adapted well and this is due to how the staff have made her feel and within a short stay she is happy to now call Deerswood Lodge her home.

I cannot thank Deerswood Lodge Care Home enough for their care and commitment and professional behaviour during this very stressful time. Their communications from the service manager is excellent.

My mum has been settled at Deerswood Lodge Care Home, home and grounds are lovely, staff are friendly and helpful, no complaints.

I honestly can't say enough about the staff and the facilities at Deerswood Lodge. The team leader took such good care of my mum the whole of her stay.

On arrival, I was immediately greeted with a friendly smile and was put at ease. The manager there talked me through everything and what I thought was going to be stressful was made easier. Mum is happy and is being treated and looks very well. I have no worries whatsoever that Mum is in a very good place.

My father, who suffers from dementia, has been staying at Deerswood Lodge for the last 18 months and the staff have given him excellent care and have been really kind and caring. It's been a difficult time for care homes during COVID and the Deerswood staff have been fantastic and have constantly been in touch and communicating with the family as well as facilitating visits under difficult circumstances. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

My Mum spent the last year of her life at Deerswood Lodge and was extremely happy. She was always treated with respect, dignity and received wonderful care. The staff at Deerswood were always welcoming and friendly, and professional, and contributed to a warm and friendly environment, with the resident's wellbeing their primary concern. A special mention to the Team leader who, during the pandemic,( as we were unable to visit, ) took great care of Mum. He always called if he had any concerns, and also went the extra mile, enjoying Mums sense of humour, listening to her stories, and singing with her! We felt fortunate that Mum was there and would recommend it as a first-class care home.

The gardens are well kept too.

Putting our Dad into a care home was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make as a family made worse by the fact that we had lost our beautiful mum and Dads beloved wife a year earlier. The virus and subsequent lockdown added to Dad's loneliness and even though we did what we could to keep Dad motivated and provide company for him it was never enough, he was neglecting himself in lots of ways including nutritionally. We knew we had to act and look for somewhere he could live with only the very best care and somewhere he would be safe. We chose Deerswood Lodge and I am so glad we did, the staff team have been amazing from the time we were met at the door they were so welcoming and friendly and have remained so every time we visit. We have noticed a difference in Dad in just a few months he has been there, he looks brighter, happier and has put on weight, the very fact he is never without company makes us happy. The Manager and her team have been fantastic from the start.

I was admitted to Deerswood Lodge having been in hospital after having treatment for a fall. I was welcomed by a member of staff. I was surprised at the size of the home and my impression was of a very clean and organized care home. Throughout my short stay, I was treated with extreme dignity and kindness from all of the staff who cared for me with the utmost professionalism. I make special references to the helpfulness of the staff who were friendly and always willing to help me whenever I required. The food was served regularly and was of a good standard and variety. The washing facilities were very good and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, I was not able to explore the home as I was in isolation as per their protocol in order to maintain covid-19, and this was very strictly carried out. The Parrot constantly sang and added to the happy atmosphere which prevailed.

The staff at Deerswood Lodge were all very caring and understanding. They helped in every way they could to meet my father's needs and he settled in very quickly. They always had time for me and enabled me to have as much contact with my dad as I could as his stay was during the lockdown period.

I would be very happy to do another review when the virus is finally under control and things go back to normal. I am writing this review about the home while they are going through the most difficult time ever and they are doing the best they can under the most difficult circumstances.
