The Shelley is a 32-bed residential care home set in the residential area of Worthing, 10 minute walk to the seafront. The home has been running for 20 years and the team are proud to have established a reputation as providing the very best in care, focusing on the little things that matter and that can truly make a difference to a resident's day.

The Shelley is a beautifully designed, warm and comfortable home offering daily and extensive activities and great food. The Shelley is a very comfortable home with a lovely garden and Mum felt both safe and well supported and had a really positive experience during her stay. Mum enjoyed the food and company, and the staff were very kind and caring. The family were always warmly welcomed on our visits and we would highly

Fantastic building. Every resident gets their own room and all our needs are attended to. The activities are really fun. Food is very good throughout the day. The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them.

The service at The Shelley exceeds all expectations. The carers and support staff are very professional, capable and friendly. Suffice to say that my wife reckons that she will join me here if and when she needs similar care. The management here keep accurate records of my medical needs, including my
diagnosis of early stages of Parkinson's Disease and Dementia. Altogether first class. Food is superlative.

I booked my dad into The Shelley for two weeks of respite care. The rooms and food were lovely and the staff were all extremely caring. This place would be our first choice if he chose to have long term care. If they keep up the standards, I'll book my place in twenty years or so!

My Uncle was very happy with his respite stay. The staff were extremely kind and very attentive to his needs. Food, including the Christmas menus, was well planned and very good. Very nice room and en suite facilities.

I came into The Shelley at the beginning of June 2021 for a two-week stay and liked it so much that I am still here. My cousin (next of kin) came with me and we were both immediately impressed with the appearance, facilities and friendly staff. The twice-daily activities were interesting and stimulating
and the food was good and nicely presented. I was able to bring some items of furniture, pictures and ornaments, so very quickly felt at home. The staff are, without exception, helpful and cheerful with a valued can-do attitude. I am very happy here and well cared for, to the great relief of my family.

I lived alone in a second floor flat on Worthing seafornt for twenty years. In December 2018, I had an accident requiring hospital treatment and came to The Shelley care home for two weeks respite care. I was so impressed by the overall standard of the home that I did not return home, but continued
to live here for three years. I have let my flat as I have no intention of leaving The Shelley. I cannot think of anything that could be improved. Now that the covid restrictions are being relaxed, the activities are returning to their former high standard.

My father was at The Shelley from September 2020 to July 2021 and I can't recommend the place enough. All the staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. My father was treated with care and dignity and it was lovely to see him chatting at joking with everyone. The home is beautifully
appointed with spacious rooms and spotlessly clean. I have marked the activities as good rather than excellent as they were restricted due to Covid-19. The staff made the best of it but it was a difficult time for staff, residents and visitors. Birthdays and Christmas were made extra special with thoughtful gifts and birthday tea and cake. My father's health condition declined whilst there and the home managed the changes and kept him safe. They took care of hairdressing, chiropody, arranged for in-home eye tests and liaised with the health care professionals. This meant my visits were focused on time with my father rather than organising things for him. I am so thankful for his time there.

The staff were very accomodating and cared about my needs. The menu was a little bit limited, but they made up meals that I wanted if they weren't on the menu. The salads were excellent. They also gave me tea and coffee making facilities, after checking I could use them safely.

My experience of The Shelley home has been acquired over several years residence. It is, for me, a very comfortable residence with very nice accommodation, a comfortable bed, nice furnishings everywhere, a well-maintained garden with plenty of room to entertain family and other visitors. The staff are
well trained and experienced, able to fully back the excellent conditions of living here. I would recommend this establishment and the staff unhesitatingly at any time.

The Shelley is the most amazing place and the very best there is available - the staff are wonderful and extremely caring and kind at all times. We could not hope for a better place for my mum to spend her final years - the home as recently changed ownership which did come as a worrying shock however
there was no need to worry as the new owners seem to have settled in very well and are very attentive to the residents and indeed the family members keeping us informed whenever possible.
They are happy to try and do everything in their power to keep the residents happy in these very difficult times.

My Great aunt visited The Shelley for respite care over the Christmas holidays and had a wonderful time. The activities manager made it such fun with his extensive range of activities and the care staff were so kind and caring that my great aunt cannot wait for her next visit in the summer. Cannot recommend
