I lived alone in a second floor flat on Worthing seafornt for twenty years. In December 2018, I had an accident requiring hospital treatment and came to The Shelley care home for two weeks respite care. I was so impressed by the overall standard of the home that I did not return home, but continued to live here for three years. I have let my flat as I have no intention of leaving The Shelley. I cannot think of anything that could be improved. Now that the covid restrictions are being relaxed, the activities are returning to their former high standard.

My father was at The Shelley from September 2020 to July 2021 and I can't recommend the place enough. All the staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. My father was treated with care and dignity and it was lovely to see him chatting at joking with everyone. The home is beautifully appointed with spacious rooms and spotlessly clean. I have marked the activities as good rather than excellent as they were restricted due to Covid-19. The staff made the best of it but it was a difficult time for staff, residents and visitors. Birthdays and Christmas were made extra special with thoughtful gifts and birthday tea and cake. My father's health condition declined whilst there and the home managed the changes and kept him safe. They took care of hairdressing, chiropody, arranged for in-home eye tests and liaised with the health care professionals. This meant my visits were focused on time with my father rather than organising things for him. I am so thankful for his time there.

The staff were very accomodating and cared about my needs. The menu was a little bit limited, but they made up meals that I wanted if they weren't on the menu. The salads were excellent. They also gave me tea and coffee making facilities, after checking I could use them safely.

A real home from home and family feel. Nothing is too much for the staff and management. They keep me informed on any concerns or issues they may have in the care of my parent. Always made to feel welcome. My parent is so happy here.

My experience of The Shelley home has been acquired over several years residence. It is, for me, a very comfortable residence with very nice accommodation, a comfortable bed, nice furnishings everywhere, a well-maintained garden with plenty of room to entertain family and other visitors. The staff are well trained and experienced, able to fully back the excellent conditions of living here. I would recommend this establishment and the staff unhesitatingly at any time.

The Shelley is the most amazing place and the very best there is available - the staff are wonderful and extremely caring and kind at all times. We could not hope for a better place for my mum to spend her final years - the home as recently changed ownership which did come as a worrying shock however there was no need to worry as the new owners seem to have settled in very well and are very attentive to the residents and indeed the family members keeping us informed whenever possible.

They are happy to try and do everything in their power to keep the residents happy in these very difficult times.

My cousin stayed for a couple of weeks respite just before Christmas. She was overwhelmed with kindness and compassion. Christmas decorations were second to none, like a stylish London Hotel.

My Great aunt visited The Shelley for respite care over the Christmas holidays and had a wonderful time. The activities manager made it such fun with his extensive range of activities and the care staff were so kind and caring that my great aunt cannot wait for her next visit in the summer. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The Shelley looks like an elegant 5-star boutique hotel. My cousin's room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Food was delicious, you would not get better in a top restaurant. The atmosphere was relaxed and everyone friendly and welcoming. Staff were brilliant, helpful, polite and very caring. The home was spotlessly clean. The activities staff were great, a lot to do every day and something for everyone.

I feel secure. Having vowed never to leave my home, I feel I have done the right thing. Where else could you find the kindness and competence shown by the united and happy staff? The generosity in providing extras like manicures, the efficiency of the laundry services and courtesy to visitors is special. And then there was my birthday party - Wow!

I have stayed at The Shelley care home for 3 weeks respite from 6th January to 27th January 2020. As you will see in the section below I really cannot criticise anything I have experienced. I have been treated at all times with dignity, care, courtesy, great kindness and understanding by all the staff. I would be very prepared to advise anyone to choose The Shelley care home.

My brother stayed at The Shelley for four weeks following surgery. I was impressed with everything at The Shelley, from decor to activities. Staff were brilliant, they were very friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was always very good and people active. I was often invited to stay for meals which were all delicious. My brother's room was very nice, spacious and beautifully decorated.

My father thoroughly enjoyed his three weeks respite at The Shelley. I visited almost every day and saw nothing but kindness and compassion from staff. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and put both me and my father at ease. Food was lovely, plentiful and with a lot of choice. Homemade cakes were delicious. Activities were engaging, interesting and stimulating. Well done to all of you at The Shelley.

I stayed here for one week after an operation.

The care staff and activities were all excellent. I would go back again if I had to. A wonderful first-class and home and thanks to all at the home for the help. It's first class.

I have had a really wonderful week here. I arrived on Monday 17th June feeling very fragile after an operation in hospital. I was made to feel very welcome and reassured right from the start. I have been given a lot of care and nurturance from every one of the staff.
I really appreciated the comfort and quality of my room and of the whole house and I've enjoyed the activities that I've been along to during the week.
It's been very restful and uplifting to live in such a friendly and supportive environment and I am sure my recovery has been greatly helped by being here. I have felt stronger and stronger every day.
I've also enjoyed meeting the other residents and spending time with them at meal times and in the lounge.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who has made my stay such a happy and positive experience. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to spend the beginning of my convalescence here.
