The home has been running for 20 years and the team are proud to have established a reputation as providing the very best in care, focusing on the little things that matter and that can truly make a difference to a resident's day.

The Shelley is a beautifully designed, warm and comfortable home offering daily and extensive activities and great food. The Shelley is an amazing home, as soon as you are welcomed in you can’t help but notice the family friendly vibe.


Residents and staff alike always seem happy and smiling and you instantly feel at ease.


I really enjoy coming here, nothing seems too much trouble, you are made to feel so welcome

and part of it. Staff are so friendly, the house is grand yet homely and the activities on offer are excellent.


I for one would be very happy to live here.

My elderly friend has been a resident for several years now and I visit her usually twice a week. Having experienced other care homes (my fiancee works in the industry) 'The Shelley' most certainly ticks all the boxes. With the appearance of a traditional English 5 star hotel rather than a care home,
I always look forward to my visits. The staff are extremely warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. It's also quite obvious that they function extremely well together as a fully cohesive team under the excellent leadership of their very experienced manager. It's the little touches also that make such a difference such as 'Fudge' the home's pet cat, as well as the tasteful decor that makes it feel so homely (I'm convinced that the owner is really a frustrated interior designer at heart!). There are always homemade 'goodies' available to go with my coffee (thanks to the excellent kitchen staff) which is one of the reasons I'm not there on a daily basis (to save my waistline!). Personally, I'd move in tomorrow myself, but then, unfortunately, I'm only 53!

For the three and a half years that I have been here, I have received nothing but kindness and attention. The rooms which are cleaned daily are warm and cosy and many enhanced with personal possessions. The food is varied and nutritious although perhaps not to every body's taste, tea.coffee and soft
drinks are available at all times. Visitors are welcome and offered refreshment. Help from the staff is immediately at hand for any eventuality. The varied entertainment outings and activities are phenomenal.
The qualified management are always ready to give medical and financial advice if needed.

I am a fit and healthy 'eighty-four-year-old' who lives by herself and I felt it would be wonderful to have a weeks respite care where I would be fed, watered and perhaps pampered. I had an excellent time in The Shelley. My room was spacious, warm and comfortable. I chose to have my meals in the main
dining room and enjoyed chatting to other residents. The downstairs lounge was warm and comfortable and had daily entertainment, from musical recitals to interesting talks on numerous subjects. I had a wonderful week and left feeling rejuvenated. I hope to return later in the year.

The Shelley is a fantastic home, meeting its residents individual and personal needs on a daily basis. The care they provide is outstanding.
As a close family friend, I was warmly welcomed. They always went over and above with the care they provided. Excelling in the end of life care they gave and
the support to the family.
I would not hesitate to recommend the home and the staff to anyone. I asked the home for this review as I feel they deserve the praise and credit for their outstanding care.

My in-laws have received the most fantastic Care here!!! Nothing is to much trouble for the staff. There is always something going on outings and activities. We use The Shelley regularly for respite and my mother in law did not want to come Home!!! I completely understand how they have the outstanding

My mother loves The Shelley - their staff is wonderful and the residents all so friendly. Food is consistently of a high standard and the entertainment remarkably good. At Christmas and other celebrations, no expense is spared to decorate and provide a lovely experience. I cannot recommend the home

Since moving into The Shelley in early 2017 my mother has been very happy making friends as she has not had the occasion to do for many years. The staff at The Shelley are very caring and the management are also much involved and available, the food and accommodation are excellent. Visiting is flexible
and you are made to feel very welcome. Mum is experiencing failing health but she is being well looked after. I cannot wish for a better place for my mother to be at this time and I thoroughly recommend this care home.

The Shelley is a fantastic example of a well-run home.
It is beautifully appointed with tasteful furnishings and quality that really supports the high standard that the home achieves.
There is always well-trained staff on hand to assist whenever needed and that level of support from the owner, management
and staff is clearly evident.
The choice of food and quality is five star and I love the drinks machine that is available to all in the lounge, makes a fantastic coffee.
The home is kept spotless and I feel this really underpins the dignity of those that live in this beautiful home.

I visit The Shelley on a regular basis and am always impressed by the polite, helpful staff. The home is always sparkling clean and the seasonal decorations are amazing. The coffee they serve is better than the High Street and I am always offered refreshments. Entertainment is daily and varied and I
often feel I am visiting a hotel, not a residential home. I would recommend The Shelley to anyone.

After placing my mother in The Shelley for 8 months it is clear to see why The Shelley has an outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission. The care my mother received was simply "Outstanding". All the staff were always so welcoming, always had the time to listen and support the resident and

My mother became a resident at The Shelley after a period of loneliness and deterioration at home.
The staff welcomed her and her family so warmly and she soon settled in. What could have been a bewildering and worrying time soon turned into happier times. The management and staff couldn't have been
more wonderful. The comfortable surroundings were pure luxury. The Shelley turned into a true home for my mother where she received excellent care, second to none. There is nothing I could criticise. She sadly dies at The Shelley with dignity and in comfort.

Mum has been at The Shelley for a number of years now and from day 1 she has been happy there. It is a home from home. There is a wide range of activities and entertainment provided. A special effort is made to celebrate festive occasions (their Christmas decorations are superb).
