Set in a 17th century manor house, Walstead Place is luxury care home in Haywards Heath. The dedicated team provides round the clock residential and dementia care on a permanent and respite basis, as well as compassionate end of life care.

My mother has been at Walstead Place for five years. The care and attention she has received has been exemplary. The staff are efficient and well trained and also very caring, not just to the residents but to the relatives too. The food is good and weekday activities (my mum's particular favourite)
are outstanding. The staff are a friendly, happy crew with the tone being set by management.

Just dropped my dad back from a day out and the staff welcome him back like he is one of the family.
The team of carers are so friendly and really care about what he has done.
It is lovely to see my dad laughing and smiling and remembering so much more. This is all thanks to the interactions that
he is having with the team at Walstead and the fact that he is sleeping and eating so well.
This month I was really pleased with the clocks changing to be able to get to the care home in time to take him out for a walk after supper.
Thank you so much for all you do, it is great to visit him and see him so happy.

The Walstead has a wonderfully positive atmosphere, with much laughter between staff and residents. Carers are happy to help and show great warmth and empathy to everyone's needs. The feel is very engaging and the staff are friendly and engaging.

Everyone and I mean everyone is fantastic and really care about making the residents feel like they are at home. The support my mum has been given is exceptional as is the support and advice I have received.

An excellent afternoon tea party at Walstead Place. The 40's, 50's and 60's singer did a wonderful job of entertaining all the residents. The staff and residents all joined in the singing and some dancing! Great fun all around, thank you.

I stayed for ten days but am afraid I was disappointed. I booked for two weeks but stayed for ten days. I wanted rehab for two weeks but found the rehab was not what I expected. I was charged for two weeks although I stayed for ten days as the experience was not at all suitable as I was led to be expected.
I think the charges were too much for only ten days. The staff were excellent, and very caring, hoping to hear from you.

My mother has been a resident at Walstead Place for nearly five years and she feels secure and happy due to the kindness and professionalism of the management and staff and the friends she has made in her time there.
The staff coped extremely well during the very difficult period of the pandemic and
despite having to wear face coverings all day and dealing with relatives' concerns, they remained positive and in good humour, doing their best to carry on as normal.
Although not like the Ritz, Walstead is homely rather than clinical and Mum regards it as her stately home.

Mum had enjoyed several stays at Walstead Place, until her sudden passing in December 2022. She was looked after right up to the end with one of the carers present at the moment of passing. She even had a warm cup of tea at the side of her bed.

I found the staff very welcoming and helpful.
The room is comfortable but the bed making poor.
Breakfast poor, especially porridge. Other meals satisfactory.
Activities well led.

My late father was a resident at Walstead Place several years ago and his treatment was exemplary.
Unfortunately, my sister has developed a mixed dementia and is now coming towards the end of a 6 week's respite stay at Walstead Place having begun to struggle in her own home. I am delighted to say that
standards remain very high at Walstead Place. She has been treated with the utmost care and respect, and without a doubt, she has flourished during her stay. She has gained weight, become far less anxious and is no longer socially withdrawn - she has been actively participating in home activities. She looks 10 years younger!


A sincere thanks to all staff at Walstead Place, this is a Care home with a capital "C".

I needed respite at short notice for my 86-year-old mother after a fall. They went out of their way to accommodate her. The staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, they have an open door policy which makes life much easier. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The most important aspect of Walstead Place Care Home is, for me, highly satisfactory and that is that our dad is happy there, well cared for and treated with respect. Beautiful home, staff are very friendly and make the service users feel at home. Walstead Place does not feel like a care home, it feels just like a home should be - warm, welcoming and clean. I would not hesitate in recommending this home.
