Very pleasant stay.

My mum received very good care during her four-and-a-half-year stay at Walstead Place Care Home. The care staff were very caring and supportive of the family.

My respite visit was a facility I required at the time and served my needs. I would not hesitate to return in future should I need more care.

Everything was okay apart from the toilet, which was far too high.

All the staff, without exception, are so kind and caring. Nothing was too much trouble. The programme of activities was well thought out and delivered and completely inclusive.

My mother has been made to feel so welcome. Every time I visit she tells me how kind all the staff are. She thinks the food is excellent and the house is very homely. We cannot thank everyone enough for helping us in our hour of need.

I would recommend Walstead to anyone looking for a care home. Walstead is very clean, serves good food and have the most wonderful and caring staff who look after them and entertain them.

My mum went into Walstead Place for respite care following an illness. She was very weak when she arrived and after just the first week the difference was very evident. She has told me she loves the food, it is amazing and the staff are wonderful. She has been there over Christmas which has been very reassuring for the family as everyone has been very kind, caring and supportive to her. I would highly recommend Walstead Place whether that's for respite or long term care.

My mother was a resident for only three weeks but received the kindest, most compassionate care from the staff at Walstead Place. She could not have had more attentive staff from the management team, carers, cleaners and housekeeping staff. As a family, we felt so beautifully cared for ourselves during every visit, telephone call and enquiry about Mum. It was truly a home from home during the last few weeks of her life's long journey. Thank you to all who knew her.

My wife attended Walstead Place for a seven-day respite. She was very happy there, felt safe and thoroughly enjoyed her stay. The entire staff were very kind and approachable during her stay.

I cannot thank the staff at Walstead Place enough. Mum was in the home for 3 weeks, she received very good care all done with love during those weeks. She was clean, comfortable and kept safe. She sadly died there and this was handled with love, care and support to her children and grandchildren. This has continued after her death.

My mum stayed for a week in Walstead Place after a spell in hospital to recover and gain confidence to return home. She and I found the care that she received exemplary. All the staff, without exception, were so very kind to her and they were all so friendly. I noticed, when visiting, that the residents were treated with respect and kindness. The home was very cosy and welcoming.

My 92-year-old aunt became a resident at Walstead Place Care Home after a short period of respite there. At home she was isolated and becoming more withdrawn, she had carers but her care needs had become greater than what they could provide. Since being at Walstead she has once again become the aunt I knew and has flourished with the stimulation, on hand care and good food provided. Last Sunday she became acutely unwell and it was through the prompt action of the staff managing the situation very well that the outcome was a positive one. My aunt was taken to hospital for treatment, but all the way through this episode Walstead have kept me informed as to what news they had. Thankfully, my aunt is now back 'home' at Walstead and many of the guilt feelings I might have had about her not ending her days in her own home have been assuaged by the fact she is so well cared for and happy at Walstead.

Seems fine although mother is sad and grieving for her husband.

My husband had two weeks respite and seemed content and found the food and care excellent.

My wife is well cared for and when problems (falls etc) happen we are kept informed.

My father was very poorly when he came to the home from the hospital after a fall at home. He has various health problems and had lost a lot of weight and become very fragile. He received a huge welcome when he arrived at Walstead Place, and the staff couldn't have been more caring and showed more empathy. He has come on leaps and bounds since being here, has gained back his appetite and started walking again.

Regular reviews take place. All staff are caring and helpful. Mum is very happy in this home.

in these difficult times, I cannot think how Walstead Place management and staff could have done any better caring for my mother. Both the physical care (food/medicine etc) and mental care (staff chats and activities) are as good as we dare to hope for. And, importantly, I know my mother would say exactly the same. Just look forward to being able to take her out from Tuesday.
