Excelcare Buchan House Care Home

All the staff are always helpful, cheerful and welcoming. The home is always clean and nothing is too much trouble.

There are always lots of staff present at Buchan House. They are caring towards my mother-in-law and are always friendly when we visit. It is nice to see what the 'Buchan family' have been doing on their Facebook page.

I would recommend Buchan House without hesitation to others.

My elderly friend lived at Buchan House for around two years. During that time, I found that the staff were careful, easily accessible and always caring. My friend had increasing dementia and always missed her own home, so nowhere would have made her feel happy and totally comfortable, but the facilities were ok and the staff were always caring, careful and did their best and more. I will always be grateful.

The care my mother receives at Buchan House is exceptional. The staff care very much about their residents, especially their well-being and needs. The meals are very good and variable. The vibe inside the home is a jolly one with plenty of activities. I cannot give Buchan House and its staff enough praise. Thank you Buchan House!

Dad was moved to Buchan House from another home after being discharged from hospital. Because I had covid and couldn't visit, the staff transferred his belongings for me and kept in daily touch regarding his progress. The staff and manager are excellent, punctual, caring and supportive and really go the extra mile. As a family, we feel reassured and confident that Dad's end of life is expertly and lovingly managed. We would recommend Buchan House to anyone needing a nursing home for their loved ones.

I Can not fault Buchan house staff, they are caring and understanding of individual needs. Management are informative and keeps us updated on dad’s needs and any changes to his care package. Every staff member seems to be happy to work there is always a warm welcome

Staff work really hard to look after the residents, which l know first hand can be a very challenging job. They are caring and will do their best to meet the needs of all residents. My mother is looked after very well, the meals are very good and will go out of their way to solve any issues. Staff take the time to chat to families even when they are very busy, which is most of the time. I am very grateful to the staff and cannot thank them enough for the hard work they do.

Thank you managerial and wonderful staff for looking after my partner. Every time I am at Buchan House it’s such a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere it’s so comforting to know my partner is Happy. Merry Christmas to you all.

All members of staff were so helpful in making sure my mother had a great birthday. She always seems happy and contented. Much appreciated by all our family for the level of care she receives and how she is treated as an individual in her own right.

My mother has been a resident since September 2020. In the time she has been there, there has been an overall improvement in her physical health. The staff are amazing, they are always pleasant, some are very chatty and jolly. They obviously know my mum well. They post lots of pictures and videos online for us all to view, lots of activities take place even in these difficult times. They have done a fantastic job in keeping the residents and staff safe in these hard times. The home has now opened up a bit more and we can visit between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm as long as we do a test. Mum's room is always clean and tidy as is her bathroom. I once got there while she was still having breakfast and caught her tucking into eggs and bacon. Mum is very happy as she loves her food. All the staff are great including the admin. So pleased mum is somewhere that I know is caring for her.

Having used another home that we were extremely unhappy with, we moved dad to Buchan House. Our eyes were opened to how wonderful a care home experience could be. All staff, with no exception, were outstanding. Dad was very happy and contented. When dad passed away, the staff treated him with the utmost respect and cared for us as a family with compassion.

My sister and I are very happy with the staff at Buchan House. I feel that a good manager leads a good team. We are confident that our mother is well looked after and her special needs are met. My mother has now accepted that Buchan House is her home. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place for a family member.

My aunt has been in Buchan House for a while now and I have visited on a number of occasions, I always find the staff friendly and very helpful. The home is always clean, tidy and the residents always seem to be enjoying themselves. My aunt is very happy at Buchan and gets on well with all the staff and she has made many friends since being at Buchan.

The team at Buchan House have now cared for my mother since February 2017 and since then I have been most impressed with the way in which they interact with her. She is French by birth and often reverts to her mother tongue which is very difficult for the carers as she has dementia and is often making little sense even if speaking English. They treat her with kindness respect and dignity. I am also well informed of her changing condition.

Very pleased that my mum is in a nice safe environment.

In view of the difficulties of the last one and a half years, the staff at Buchan House have done all they could to keep the residents safe and happy. I think they have achieved very well under the circumstances. Always keeping us notified of what's happening. I don't think they could have done much more.
