In view of the difficulties of the last one and a half years, the staff at Buchan House have done all they could to keep the residents safe and happy. I think they have achieved very well under the circumstances. Always keeping us notified of what's happening. I don't think they could have done much more.

The care home has been way better than I thought it would be. The staff look after mum as if they were family. The care they give is so much more than just a job they really love the residents. I was talking to mum as a cleaner came in to restock and said hello and asked if she was ok?.

My mum went to live at Buchan House at the beginning of December 2020 after leaving her home and being in hospital for a fortnight... it could have been a very difficult time as she was in a strange place with no familiar faces and we could not visit in the pod for the first fortnight due to COVID restrictions. We have found the manager and staff to be extremely caring and patient... my sisters and I continually phoned for updates on how Mum was doing, and they, in turn, contacted us if they felt we needed to be updated. I have now been able to visit her face to face as restrictions are gradually lifted and find her happy and upbeat... the staff are very kind to her, and for us as her family, this is most important. We very much appreciate the hard work and extra duties the Buchan House staff have given during this very difficult time.

Care for my husband with advanced dementia could not be better. Staff are always kind, patient, professional and attentive. They are assiduous in keeping me informed and have managed the difficult situation presented by Covid restrictions exceptionally well. Updates on visiting regulations are full and easy to understand and my visits have been made easy by prompt testing and the provision of safe spaces to meet my husband. I saw his room for the first time today and I am impressed by its comfort and cleanliness. Overall I am happy that he is being very well looked after, with sympathy, kindness and dignity.

I find Bchan House, especially at this time with all the Coronavirus, have gone the extra mile to keep the residents family at last, able to see our relatives. The hard work and hours all the carers and management put in to make the home safe has not gone unnoticed. I would like to thank all the staff, especially the manager and a gentleman for all their help and support. Also, the lady in activities.

The support and care given at Buchan House are very good, Always kept up to date as a family about the care given to our family member in the home. Through the pandemic, this didn't change. Staff are friendly and welcoming and our family member is happy there which is important to us. Thank you.

When I visit my mother I find the staff always very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and my mother is always well dressed, clean and of high spirits, although she does not know why she is there!
At least I know she is well cared for and looked after in a loving and caring way as I would or could do myself.

Thank you to all the marvellous staff.

Buchan House is warm and friendly. Just wish our relative would mix more out of his room, very lonely at times. Main carers very friendly towards our relative, some just come into the room, put food down and go - no conversation.
Food very good apart from some foreign food, but loves the Sunday Lunch and pork chops. Very fond of the cooks. They visit and find out likes and dislikes.

He feels safe and secure and that's important to him.

I couldn't have asked for a better place.
The staff were so friendly and caring.
Although my husband refused to eat or drink and was very belligerent, they tried always to make him eat even getting special fruit for him.
He was always kept scrupulously clean and observed most of the day.

I felt great peace, in the end, knowing he had passed away in such a lovely, caring place.

My late father was a former resident at Buchan House Care Home from February 2019 till May 2019. He when there for respite care to start off with but my mother and I were so impressed with the home that we felt happy for him to become a permanent resident there.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. And they always do their best to make sure that the residents are well cared for and any needs they have are met.
The home itself is clean and tidy and is a welcoming place to visit a loved one.

I would recommend Buchan House Care Home to anyone looking to make sure that their loved one is well cared for.

Have found all staff very friendly towards Mum and ourselves when visiting. This also applies to other patients in the home. We are always updated when we visit on Mum's health and well being which we find reassuring. They offer different activities for patients to keep them occupied.
