Set in Peterborough's leafy Park Crescent conservation area, Park House Nursing Home is a long-established facility for 52 residents which offers, within elegant and spacious surroundings, all necessary modern facilities for fully discreet nursing care of the frail elderly.

The aim for each resident making their home at Park House, is to ensure a fulfilling individual lifestyle, one completely respectful of personal dignity and choice, and with all nursing needs met, monitored and regularly re-assessed.

All accommodation is, of course, en-suite and comes fully furnished, together with a large flat screen TV receiver in each room; staff always welcome additional individual memorabilia and personalisation to complete that feeling of "home". Each day's pattern is of the individual resident's choice, and the highest standard of catering, based on fresh, local supplies, individually presented according to need, ensures all meals are enjoyed as much in the expectation as the actuality. Residents have several lounges available for different get-togethers and social occasions, and diverse weekly activities programmes, as arranged by the six-strong activities team, ensure all may be involved in active social focus as they desire; group or one-to-one. Various outside entertainers bring their skills and talents to Park House, and thus help to complete a picture of "Life is for Living" whatever its constraints may be.

The team provide medical and palliative care for the elderly as well as having a separate dementia community. The owners are delighted to have been awarded, in 2011 and 2012, the accolade of double national award winners for dementia care and community.

My mother passed away on 9th May all the staff, whether cleaner or cook. Manager or carer, offered me nothing but respect. Thjey were all so lovely and kind, we had a cup of tea with cake as a remembrance of mum. Can't thank them enough. Saying thank you does not cover their care and support.

I am so very pleased that my mother is in the care home. Her care is second to none and nothing is ever too much trouble. Since she has been here from being so very poorly, she has put on weight and is able to tell me she is very happy here.

My mother is safe, looked after well and her medical needs are all attended to and arranged for. Some of the staff have really gone above and beyond in the last 12 months.
1. The nurses have gone out of their way to be helpful and keep me informed.
2. Some of the carers in particular have been extra
helpful and more kind to my Mum.

My mother has been here for many years and enjoys every minute. They look after her extremely well. For example, they take her to the hospital and stay with her for many hours until it's time for her to come home. Always having a laugh with her which she enjoys and many other small ways makes all the
difference. It certainly was the best choice of all other places to live here. I thoroughly recommend.

Of all the homes my father was in, Park House Nursing Home was undoubtedly the best. Dads needs were complex and Park House Nursing Home rose to the challenge. We were happy that Dad was well looked after and secure.

I went in to visit my Auntie. It seemed short-staffed in the office as the receptionist was on the phone. A man came out from the back, I think he was the manager. He was very friendly and used my name a lot in conversation making me feel valued. Had my covid test and returned twenty minutes later.
Went in to see my Auntie and while I was there, a member of staff came to offer her a cup of tea and propped her up in a sitting position. Saw the manager when I left and booked a future appointment, again very friendly. Happy that my Auntie is being really well cared for.

This review covers my experiences from March 2020 to June 2021. Overall, a very well run establishment with all staff that I have dealt with being very professional and helpful. The manager explained in detail how the home operates and the administration side of things is well organised. The Covid pandemic
has thrown up many procedural changes and these have been explained well throughout. Nursing care appears very thorough and I have been informed whenever there has been an issue with my mother’s health and well-being. I am aware of activities that take place but my mother’s choice is to not get involved so I cannot comment.

I just wanted to say what a tremendous effort the staff at Park House have put in to make my Mum's 100th Birthday so special today. There was a beautiful cake with candles, flowers, buntings and special '100' balloons decorating the area where we took photos of Mum. One member of staff came in on her

Having our mum live with us for 15 years, we were upset to think she had to go into a nursing home; how wrong we were. Our mother was loved and cared for by all the staff to which we will be eternally grateful. Thank you for giving her care in her final days. Beautiful place.

There are really no words to describe the care at Park House, other than 'outstanding'. From the moment we went to visit Park House, we knew we had found a special home with special people to care for our Dad. The love, care and attention that Dad received was such a comfort to us as a family. Just

We were so pleased with the outstanding care Mum received while at your home. She was only with you for 8 days at the end of her life. She felt safe and was well looked after. All staff were friendly patient very respectful and caring with Mum, also to myself and my sister who were allowed to visit

Park House was mostly a very pleasing environment for my mum to live in, in her final years. The staff were kind and attentive, her health needs were met by the fantastic nurses, and her room and the facilities were kept in good condition. Food and drink requests were accommodated where possible, and
kitchen staff helped celebrate her birthdays with wonderful cake and tea in the dining room. New managers arrived partway through her stay; they seemed competent and helpful. Mum said she was happy there, though at times I felt she could have benefitted from more 1:1 engagement, as she was bed-bound in her room, unable to join in activities. Thankfully, visits at any time were permitted.
