Set in Peterborough's leafy Park Crescent conservation area, Park House Nursing Home is a long-established facility for 52 residents which offers, within elegant and spacious surroundings, all necessary modern facilities for fully discreet nursing care of the frail elderly.

The aim for each resident making their home at Park House, is to ensure a fulfilling individual lifestyle, one completely respectful of personal dignity and choice, and with all nursing needs met, monitored and regularly re-assessed.

All accommodation is, of course, en-suite and comes fully furnished, together with a large flat screen TV receiver in each room; staff always welcome additional individual memorabilia and personalisation to complete that feeling of "home". Each day's pattern is of the individual resident's choice, and the highest standard of catering, based on fresh, local supplies, individually presented according to need, ensures all meals are enjoyed as much in the expectation as the actuality. Residents have several lounges available for different get-togethers and social occasions, and diverse weekly activities programmes, as arranged by the six-strong activities team, ensure all may be involved in active social focus as they desire; group or one-to-one. Various outside entertainers bring their skills and talents to Park House, and thus help to complete a picture of "Life is for Living" whatever its constraints may be.

The team provide medical and palliative care for the elderly as well as having a separate dementia community. The owners are delighted to have been awarded, in 2011 and 2012, the accolade of double national award winners for dementia care and community.

I remember the first time I went to view Park House, it had a lovely, homely feel about it and you could see that it was also very professionally run. I could hear laughter coming from the bedrooms where Carers were assisting residents and everywhere was very clean and very well decorated.


Mum had

a stroke 5 years ago and she also had dementia so she now had to rely on Carers for all her needs - personal care, drinks, food, hoisting etc. This was all done by very kind and caring staff who treated her with a very high level of dignity. Whenever I visited, mum was always washed, dressed lovely and smelling of her favourite perfume and on most days, they had taken time to put make up on her as they knew this was something she used to do when she lived at home. Together we went to the various morning entertainment and as a family, we also attended the special evening events which were lovely and of a high standard.


Sadly, mum died at the end of October but we couldn't have found a better Home for her last 15 months. Throughout, the Management and all other staff were very supportive to us as a family and Park House will always be very special to us all

Over 6 years ago my mother could no longer stand or walk and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She was very confused and could no longer remain at her home. I visited many of the Care Homes in Peterborough and came to the conclusion that Park House was the best for mum. It seemed to offer care
whilst still looking homely and the staff appeared to understand her condition and be well trained and kindly. I have never regretted that decision.
Mum moved in and her room was very pleasant and she was encouraged to take part in activities and the social life of the home. She was kept clean and as she said was “warm and comfortable”. I never felt I had to worry about her well-being. The staff became fond of her and whilst she did not always want to be “bothered” she became fond of them. This was helped by the stability and good level of staffing.
About 2 years ago mother went to hospital. She was put on the Liverpool Care Pathway and left in bed without food or drink. I contacted Park House and they organised her return to the home. Through Park House’s team’s skill in dementia care and support mum recovered and without serious medical intervention survived for another 2 years. My respect for the staff’s skill and care is therefore very high.
Recently (Aug 2015) I was called because my mother was having difficulty breathing. When I arrived she was in considerable distress but she was being helped with skill and kindness by staff. Medical help had already been called and within two hours my mother was treated and was able to sleep. The next day she died peacefully. I was treated with great kindness and sympathy and the staff clearly cared about my mother and me.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Park House to any family who has an elderly relative who needs their high level of care.

My mother has been in Park House Nursing Home for 4 years with dementia and she no longer recognises her family and she is now in the dementia unit upstairs having started off downstairs. She is always clean and well cared for and treated with kindness and respect. I find the staff friendly and welcoming
whenever I visit. (I do not pre warn them of a visit I just turn up.) I was recommended by a cousin whose mother-in-law had spent the last years of her life here. She highly recommended it and I would do the same.

I am in my 98th year registered as partially sighted. Have been in Park House Nursing Home nearly 5 years and all that time have had wonderful attention when needed. The atmosphere is excellent with all kinds of activities from quizzes to board games. I can't praise it enough.
