Park House Nursing Home

Of all the homes my father was in, Park House Nursing Home was undoubtedly the best. Dads needs were complex and Park House Nursing Home rose to the challenge. We were happy that Dad was well looked after and secure.

I am so grateful for the kindness, support and care given to my father by the dedicated staff at Park House Nursing Home. Also a special thanks to the management team who went out of their way to offer support and kindness. Excellent level of communication and support.

All the staff are very friendly and caring. Please note because I haven't seen the food and drink provided to the residents, nor the types of activities made available I can only mark them as satisfactory.

Always makes guests welcome.

I went in to visit my Auntie. It seemed short-staffed in the office as the receptionist was on the phone. A man came out from the back, I think he was the manager. He was very friendly and used my name a lot in conversation making me feel valued. Had my covid test and returned twenty minutes later. Went in to see my Auntie and while I was there, a member of staff came to offer her a cup of tea and propped her up in a sitting position. Saw the manager when I left and booked a future appointment, again very friendly. Happy that my Auntie is being really well cared for.

This review covers my experiences from March 2020 to June 2021. Overall, a very well run establishment with all staff that I have dealt with being very professional and helpful. The manager explained in detail how the home operates and the administration side of things is well organised. The Covid pandemic has thrown up many procedural changes and these have been explained well throughout. Nursing care appears very thorough and I have been informed whenever there has been an issue with my mother’s health and well-being. I am aware of activities that take place but my mother’s choice is to not get involved so I cannot comment.

Excellent facilities, good staff and a good chef. The home is the best I have stayed in.

After recently speaking with the manager regarding some issues I had with some aspects of my father's care. I am pleased to say that all points were listened to and actioned immediately. Resulting in my father being more responsive.

I just wanted to say what a tremendous effort the staff at Park House have put in to make my Mum's 100th Birthday so special today. There was a beautiful cake with candles, flowers, buntings and special '100' balloons decorating the area where we took photos of Mum. One member of staff came in on her day off to celebrate it too. Thank you all.

Park House continues to give excellent, loving care to my mother. They give support to family and throughout the Covid pandemic, have done all they can to help with contact with Mum.

Having our mum live with us for 15 years, we were upset to think she had to go into a nursing home; how wrong we were. Our mother was loved and cared for by all the staff to which we will be eternally grateful. Thank you for giving her care in her final days. Beautiful place.

There are really no words to describe the care at Park House, other than 'outstanding'. From the moment we went to visit Park House, we knew we had found a special home with special people to care for our Dad. The love, care and attention that Dad received was such a comfort to us as a family. Just knowing that Dad is being looked after in such a personal, professional manner has brought great comfort to all of my family. We will eternally be grateful.

We were so pleased with the outstanding care Mum received while at your home. She was only with you for 8 days at the end of her life. She felt safe and was well looked after. All staff were friendly patient very respectful and caring with Mum, also to myself and my sister who were allowed to visit at a difficult time. Thanks to everyone. Keep up the good work.

All the staff are caring and friendly. Mum is being looked after very well, and she is very happy considering she was very anti about going into care. I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work in these difficult times.

Park House was mostly a very pleasing environment for my mum to live in, in her final years. The staff were kind and attentive, her health needs were met by the fantastic nurses, and her room and the facilities were kept in good condition. Food and drink requests were accommodated where possible, and kitchen staff helped celebrate her birthdays with wonderful cake and tea in the dining room. New managers arrived partway through her stay; they seemed competent and helpful. Mum said she was happy there, though at times I felt she could have benefitted from more 1:1 engagement, as she was bed-bound in her room, unable to join in activities. Thankfully, visits at any time were permitted.

I find the home very good and well cared for. I find the carers very helpful and very polite.

The staff are universally caring and attentive to my mother. Sometimes it looks as if her room has not been cleaned and hoovered but I think that maybe because my mother simply drops things and makes a mess. So far as I can tell from a distance, my mother's medical needs are also cared for. But 1, we bought special bed linen for use because of my mother's eczema, to be washed separately, it is often not on her bed and 2, communication from Park House to us, and between the staff when something is requested is not always good.

Last weekend, I visited my great aunt. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They offered food and drink, checked in on us, and I was made to feel very welcome, as it was my first visit. Thanks.

Park House has been home for our aunt for 5 years, she has always been safe and comfortable. We are pleased with the facilities and the staff care.

My mother has been at Park House for six and a half years and during that time, her care has been consistently good. Staff are kind, humorous and treat her with dignity. I am accepted and welcomed and in general kept well informed about her care. At times of crisis for my mother, the carers have been supportive to both of us.
