Set in Peterborough's leafy Park Crescent conservation area, Park House Nursing Home is a long-established facility for 52 residents which offers, within elegant and spacious surroundings, all necessary modern facilities for fully discreet nursing care of the frail elderly.

The aim for each resident making their home at Park House, is to ensure a fulfilling individual lifestyle, one completely respectful of personal dignity and choice, and with all nursing needs met, monitored and regularly re-assessed.

All accommodation is, of course, en-suite and comes fully furnished, together with a large flat screen TV receiver in each room; staff always welcome additional individual memorabilia and personalisation to complete that feeling of "home". Each day's pattern is of the individual resident's choice, and the highest standard of catering, based on fresh, local supplies, individually presented according to need, ensures all meals are enjoyed as much in the expectation as the actuality. Residents have several lounges available for different get-togethers and social occasions, and diverse weekly activities programmes, as arranged by the six-strong activities team, ensure all may be involved in active social focus as they desire; group or one-to-one. Various outside entertainers bring their skills and talents to Park House, and thus help to complete a picture of "Life is for Living" whatever its constraints may be.

The team provide medical and palliative care for the elderly as well as having a separate dementia community. The owners are delighted to have been awarded, in 2011 and 2012, the accolade of double national award winners for dementia care and community.

We were so pleased with the outstanding care Mum received while at your home. She was only with you for 8 days at the end of her life. She felt safe and was well looked after. All staff were friendly patient very respectful and caring with Mum, also to myself and my sister who were allowed to visit

Park House was mostly a very pleasing environment for my mum to live in, in her final years. The staff were kind and attentive, her health needs were met by the fantastic nurses, and her room and the facilities were kept in good condition. Food and drink requests were accommodated where possible, and
kitchen staff helped celebrate her birthdays with wonderful cake and tea in the dining room. New managers arrived partway through her stay; they seemed competent and helpful. Mum said she was happy there, though at times I felt she could have benefitted from more 1:1 engagement, as she was bed-bound in her room, unable to join in activities. Thankfully, visits at any time were permitted.

The staff are universally caring and attentive to my mother. Sometimes it looks as if her room has not been cleaned and hoovered but I think that maybe because my mother simply drops things and makes a mess. So far as I can tell from a distance, my mother's medical needs are also cared for. But 1, we
bought special bed linen for use because of my mother's eczema, to be washed separately, it is often not on her bed and 2, communication from Park House to us, and between the staff when something is requested is not always good.

Our first impressions on visiting Park House were that it is a warm, friendly residence. We continue to believe this and have placed my Mother in permanent care there. The staff and management show a keen interest in my Mother and our family, listening to requests and doing their best to provide for
her personal and medical needs. We are impressed with the range of activities and entertainments arranged and particularly pleased that my Mother is encouraged to take part in them. Above all, we believe that she is well looked after and safe.

Choosing a care home is hard but as soon as I walked in the door I was met with kindness and professionalism, my dad has been at Park House since September last year, he is so settled and the care he receives is of the highest standard. Nothing is ever too much trouble, when I visit I am made to feel
very welcome. I see the same staff every week. To me, that says a lot about a place. The staff show care, love and dedication. Park House is truly the best place ever. I am so happy I chose it for my dad, the worry has been taken from my shoulders, so when I visit my dad I can enjoy being his daughter.

Lovely, relaxed and calm feeling as soon as you go through the front door, staff are friendly, approachable and nothing seems to be too much trouble. They all know my mother well and treat her with warmth and respect and she is very obviously happy living at Park House. Food is excellent! Looks lovely
