My father is pretty bed bound so the home activities are not that appropriate. However, the staff are very caring and attentive and appear to always do their best. The food does appear to be of a very high standard with good portion sizes.

Our first impressions on visiting Park House were that it is a warm, friendly residence. We continue to believe this and have placed my Mother in permanent care there. The staff and management show a keen interest in my Mother and our family, listening to requests and doing their best to provide for her personal and medical needs. We are impressed with the range of activities and entertainments arranged and particularly pleased that my Mother is encouraged to take part in them. Above all, we believe that she is well looked after and safe.

Choosing a care home is hard but as soon as I walked in the door I was met with kindness and professionalism, my dad has been at Park House since September last year, he is so settled and the care he receives is of the highest standard. Nothing is ever too much trouble, when I visit I am made to feel very welcome. I see the same staff every week. To me, that says a lot about a place. The staff show care, love and dedication. Park House is truly the best place ever. I am so happy I chose it for my dad, the worry has been taken from my shoulders, so when I visit my dad I can enjoy being his daughter.

Lovely, relaxed and calm feeling as soon as you go through the front door, staff are friendly, approachable and nothing seems to be too much trouble. They all know my mother well and treat her with warmth and respect and she is very obviously happy living at Park House. Food is excellent! Looks lovely and clean everywhere also!

My mother has been with you for just over a week for palliative care and you have made her feel so welcome and even let me in her room the day before she arrived so I could make it homely for her. All the staff have been so friendly and caring towards her to make her feel comfortable and safe in your care. As her son, the most important thing for me when she was discharged from hospital was that where she was going was going to be good enough for my mum and you have lived up to my expectations. Thank you!

My mum was in Park House years ago and it was the only nursing home I would have wanted her to go to at that time. It has since changed hands and I now visit as a Therapy Dog Volunteer but it still seems the same, friendly, caring place, it always was, and a lot of the staff I knew when my mum was there are still there which I think says a lot about the place. There is no urine smell (unlike a lot of nursing homes!) and from my observations, residents are treated with dignity and respect.

My brother is a resident at the nursing home. The care he is receiving is of the highest quality, nothing is too much. The happiness of residents is foremost, they are encouraged to be independent to their ability. Everyone gets the same no matter what their medical condition.

The standard of nursing care and attention to detail by staff at Park House Nursing Home was extremely high and personalised. My mother stayed at Park House for over five years, during which time she had a range of difficult medical issues to cope with, but all the staff handled the situation well. Staff were also a great support to me and my partner and there was always a nice, friendly atmosphere throughout the home. It is not impersonal or like an institution and, within reason, residents are allowed freedom of choice in how they spend their time.

My mother always appears to be well looked after and genuinely cared for.
She seems to have blossomed since her mealtimes have been taken in the front dining room and has made some valued friends there.
I feel confident that she is receiving all the care that she needs at this stage in her life.

She enjoys the visiting entertainment and shopping opportunities.

My mother has been at Park House since 2004. I was concerned when I was advised that the owner was selling the business. However, Healthcare Homes have not made any detrimental changes as I had feared. My mother is content and happy. The staff are kind and thoughtful. I am pleased to see very few staff changes. Continuity is important.

Park House Nursing Home is always very welcoming and friendly. The staff all work very hard to create a strong sense of community for residents and residents alike. The care is of the highest standard - calm, caring and very professional. Nothing is too much trouble. On the social side, the food is very tasty and varied and the daily programme of activities for the residents is imaginative and very involving. We greatly enjoy the monthly programme of events which include family and friends. The bedrooms are well appointed and very well maintained, each with their own TV. The three lounges are very welcoming and comfortable, the dining room is always inviting and the secluded garden is always greatly appreciated. My mother has felt completely "at home" and very happy since arriving at Park House Nursing Home 18 months ago and we continue to be extremely pleased with our choice.

My mother has been in Park House Nursing Home since August 2011 and during that time I have never had cause to complain or be upset by any treatment she has received from the staff. All of the staff I come across act in a very professional and effective manner. I always like to say that they are carers that really do care! Mum is always clean and well presented and even though she cannot communicate, the staff talk to her and it is a testimony to them that they are often rewarded with a smile. Mum's room and bed linen are kept spotlessly clean always.

Biggest problem is speed at answering the bell. The carers are very good, but don't have the time to give to each individual. There is a problem with communication, although 1 or 2 carers know about problems or preferences, not all do.
With shortage of time, it is not always possible to leave notes for other carers. I suppose it all "boils down" to shortage of staff!

Activity staff are very good. Could be more variety, or more of what is most popular. Overall... all try very hard.
