Set in Peterborough's leafy Park Crescent conservation area, Park House Nursing Home is a long-established facility for 52 residents which offers, within elegant and spacious surroundings, all necessary modern facilities for fully discreet nursing care of the frail elderly.

The aim for each resident making their home at Park House, is to ensure a fulfilling individual lifestyle, one completely respectful of personal dignity and choice, and with all nursing needs met, monitored and regularly re-assessed.

All accommodation is, of course, en-suite and comes fully furnished, together with a large flat screen TV receiver in each room; staff always welcome additional individual memorabilia and personalisation to complete that feeling of "home". Each day's pattern is of the individual resident's choice, and the highest standard of catering, based on fresh, local supplies, individually presented according to need, ensures all meals are enjoyed as much in the expectation as the actuality. Residents have several lounges available for different get-togethers and social occasions, and diverse weekly activities programmes, as arranged by the six-strong activities team, ensure all may be involved in active social focus as they desire; group or one-to-one. Various outside entertainers bring their skills and talents to Park House, and thus help to complete a picture of "Life is for Living" whatever its constraints may be.

The team provide medical and palliative care for the elderly as well as having a separate dementia community. The owners are delighted to have been awarded, in 2011 and 2012, the accolade of double national award winners for dementia care and community.

My mum was in Park House years ago and it was the only nursing home I would have wanted her to go to at that time. It has since changed hands and I now visit as a Therapy Dog Volunteer but it still seems the same, friendly, caring place, it always was, and a lot of the staff I knew when my mum was there
are still there which I think says a lot about the place. There is no urine smell (unlike a lot of nursing homes!) and from my observations, residents are treated with dignity and respect.

My brother is a resident at the nursing home. The care he is receiving is of the highest quality, nothing is too much. The happiness of residents is foremost, they are encouraged to be independent to their ability. Everyone gets the same no matter what their medical condition.

The standard of nursing care and attention to detail by staff at Park House Nursing Home was extremely high and personalised. My mother stayed at Park House for over five years, during which time she had a range of difficult medical issues to cope with, but all the staff handled the situation well.
Staff were also a great support to me and my partner and there was always a nice, friendly atmosphere throughout the home. It is not impersonal or like an institution and, within reason, residents are allowed freedom of choice in how they spend their time.

My mother always appears to be well looked after and genuinely cared for.
She seems to have blossomed since her mealtimes have been taken in the front dining room and has made some valued friends there.
I feel confident that she is receiving all the care that she needs at this stage in her life.

The Park House staff are very friendly and helpful. They interact very nicely with the residents.
There are lots of activities and events throughout the year. Friends and family are made welcome. The home is nicely decorated and homely.

My mother has been at Park House since 2004. I was concerned when I was advised that the owner was selling the business. However, Healthcare Homes have not made any detrimental changes as I had feared. My mother is content and happy. The staff are kind and thoughtful. I am pleased to see very few staff
changes. Continuity is important.

Park House Nursing Home is always very welcoming and friendly. The staff all work very hard to create a strong sense of community for residents and residents alike. The care is of the highest standard - calm, caring and very professional. Nothing is too much trouble. On the social side, the food is
very tasty and varied and the daily programme of activities for the residents is imaginative and very involving. We greatly enjoy the monthly programme of events which include family and friends. The bedrooms are well appointed and very well maintained, each with their own TV. The three lounges are very welcoming and comfortable, the dining room is always inviting and the secluded garden is always greatly appreciated. My mother has felt completely "at home" and very happy since arriving at Park House Nursing Home 18 months ago and we continue to be extremely pleased with our choice.

My mother has been in Park House Nursing Home since August 2011 and during that time I have never had cause to complain or be upset by any treatment she has received from the staff. All of the staff I come across act in a very professional and effective manner. I always like to say that they are carers
that really do care! Mum is always clean and well presented and even though she cannot communicate, the staff talk to her and it is a testimony to them that they are often rewarded with a smile. Mum's room and bed linen are kept spotlessly clean always.

Biggest problem is speed at answering the bell. The carers are very good, but don't have the time to give to each individual. There is a problem with communication, although 1 or 2 carers know about problems or preferences, not all do.
With shortage of time, it is not always possible to leave notes
for other carers. I suppose it all "boils down" to shortage of staff!
Activity staff are very good. Could be more variety, or more of what is most popular. Overall... all try very hard.

The home is a well-run care home, looking after all my dad's needs, the staff are extremely helpful and the care us excellent. Dad can be a handful but believe he is in the best place possible.
I have not had experience of other homes and I am extremely happy with Park House and the care given to my
dad.
I feel comfortable in the knowledge dad is safe, secure and well looked after.

I attended an afternoon tea party and found a lovely atmosphere. The staff took time to talk to the residents and spent time with those with no visitors. The staff were most welcoming to all visitors and we had a lovely tea and an impromptu sing-song. My friend whom I visit really enjoyed it.

I wish to congratulate all the Healthcare Homes on the smooth takeover from Park House. We were all initially concerned for our loved ones, we are now aware this concern was unfounded. Healthcare Homes have continued with their personal tender loving care initiatives as promoted by the manager. Carer
numbers have remained so have all the activities which make this nursing home so special. I have just come back from a wonderful, and filling afternoon tea in aid of breast cancer. Thank you.

We, the family have experienced respite care, dementia care and nursing care at Park House. Currently, Dad resides upstairs (dementia) and Mum downstairs, having nursing care (terminal lung disease). The staff are, without exception, lovely and it would not be possible to do more than they do. I feel
very fortunate to know that they are in the best place possible and would not hesitate to recommend Park House.

Peaceful, tranquil atmosphere from day one, helped by the surroundings. Spacious gardens with easy access, light airy rooms, no unpleasant smells at any time. Staff caring, courteous and readily available. nothing too much trouble. Couldn't ever wish for a better place for Mum to end her days. A pity
she wasn't able to enjoy the excellent food and presentation for very long. Thank yo to all the wonderful staff.

Mum has been a resident at Park House for nearly ten years. In that period I have always been impressed by all aspects of her care. If that is to continue, the organisation will need to work hard to retain existing staff and to transfer their style to any new appointees. At this stage a little more
consistency over administrating/financial arrangements would be welcome.

The care provided is very good the staff are lovely and caring. The rooms provided good, could be updated along with the fees that residents have to pay. Too much. More variety for the menu choice is needed as sometimes the resident has commented same old thing. The home has just been taken over by
new management which I feel are not as forth coming as previous owner. More needs to be looked at if I have anything to talk to as before, manager my door is always open. More family care.

Our Auntie has been in Park House since the beginning of April. We had been to look around 3 homes and decided Park House was the one. How right we were.
We "drop in" regularly and are always greeted by friendly staff. We are made to feel very welcome and it has the feel of a big happy house rather
than a home. Our Auntie is very happy and settled there which gives us peace of mind. She receives excellent care from all the staff and nothing is too much trouble.
Park House is a wonderful place to stay and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

My mother was in Park House for 5 months from August 2015 and right from the start she really liked it there. She felt safe, secure and well looked after. At first she enjoyed taking part in many of the activities and it seems that these were many and varied.
As time went on she was unable to join
in for these but she enjoyed them whilst she could. I visited quite often and could see that the standards of care, attention, and cleanliness were very high.
I am so pleased that we found Park House because it gave us both peace of mind. I would be very happy to recommend this nursing home.
