Ashville House is much more than a care home; it is a community. It welcomes family and friends, the staff are dedicated and fun, with exemplary standards of care and cleanliness. All residents are treated with dignity and respect. Many of the staff have worked at Ashville for many years, confirming
how well run and supportive Ashville is. The food is of a high standard and there is a programme of entertainment.
Our family would not hesitate to recommend Ashville House.

Our mother recently died after living at Ashville House for two years. During all this time, we were very impressed by the standard of care she received. The food and facilities are excellent. Regular entertainment is provided and the staff are warm, caring and compassionate and care for the residents
with dignity and good humour. As her health deteriorated, she received excellent end of life care. Everything that could be done to make her more comfortable was done. She died peacefully and pain free with a trusted carer by her side. We could not ask for better care. To further demonstrate how much they cared, 3 members of staff attended her funeral to pay their respects.

I would also like to say how much we appreciate the devotion that the superb staff have shown Mum while she was there. She loved the House and every single carer that came into contact with her. They looked after her every need as if she was their own and it was a pleasure to visit her there.
The
care and compassion that everyone showed Mum, in her final days, was absolutely amazing. They were all so caring and helpful to us as well while we were there with Mum.
I would recommend Ashville House as a caring and loving environment for loved ones, from the lovely room, fabulous grounds (which Mum adored) and the professional and compassionate carers. They provide comfort and special care every moment for the residents. They attend to their comfort, meals, entertainment and their religious needs. It is a fantastic place with wonderful people and support to all the residents and their families. It is a relief to the family when we know just how much our relative is looked after.

My mother was in Ashville House for 11 years. During that time we never had cause for complaints of any kind. My mother was always happy, well cared for and enjoyed her food and the entertainment. As her health failed the care and attention increased and I was very impressed at how well she was looked
after. All the staff over the years were always attentive, polite and professional. It was nice to be able to rely on Ashville to take the best care of my mum.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.461)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.461) out of 10 for Ashville House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.917 for Ashville House is calculated as follows: ( (33 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.917

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.544 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashville House is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 51 registered maximum number of service users is 10.2. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.2 = 0.294

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
