My mother came on in leaps and bounds at Oak Lodge. The care received by the three daytime staff was second to none. Her room was bright and spacious and clean. Residents are encouraged to mingle with others and the carers would participate in board games with them. Superb and many thanks.

My aunt (aged 94) was discharged from hospital in a very poor condition and after living in the same house for 78 years was reluctant to come into a care home. She was very difficult at first and was extremely obstructive. The staff and management were very patient and considerate in their care of her and she is now back to her normal nice self. Thanks.

Reply from Joseph Greiner, Manager at Burgh House

No problem at all we all go through difficult times no matter how old we are. It has been a pleasure helping get her back to her positive and charming self. We look forward to caring for her for the considerable future.

When my mother came to live at Burgh House earlier this year she was very poorly having just had an emergency operation and had been suffering from ulcerated legs for years. Since then there has been a marked improvement in her health and well being through the care she has received at Burgh House. All the staff are extremely kind and caring with a positive attitude and she has easy access to all her medical needs. There is a good social life with events happening throughout the week and occasional outings. Her legs are now free of bandages for the first time in 4 years due to the care she received. It is such a relief to me that Mumis being so well cared for in a happy environment.

When we were suddenly faced with needing to put our mum into care we were so pleased to find Burgh House who were only too happy to accommodate her. After a month's trial she became a permanent resident. We have been so completely satisfied with everything from the care team through to the management, the food and the comfort of her room. Following an accident outside of the care home, Mum needed surgery on her knee. On returning from hospital she has been well cared for by everyone at Burgh House. Mum tells us that she is very happy and content and that everyone is lovely and very kind. What more could we ask for.

I am very happy and consider this to be my home. The staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I feel loved by everyone in the home and have even been given the job of head gardener and look after all the hanging baskets.

Lately, my health has not been that good and the staff have all been extra caring and helpful. The manager even took me to an appointment himself. This home is wonderful and I would happily recommend it to others.

Outstanding facility. I could not wish for anything better to help me recover after my stay in hospital. Superior accommodation. Excellent staff who are all excellently trained not only in the caring but also in all other aspects. Top of my list. Food lovely with a good variety of menu. Laundry service second to none.
I would recommend this facility to all and everyone.
Oh, by the way, brilliant management who make it all possible.

Thank you so so much.

After being hospitalised for 8 weeks it was apparent that my mother was too ill and frail to return home, so the only alternative was to find a care home for her. Some years ago her sister had been in Burgh House so it was decided that this was the home where she would be happiest. Considering her care needs I was doubtful whether Burgh House would accept her, but how wrong I was, they welcomed her in with open arms and showered her with kindness. Her room was bright and sunny, looking out over the open fields, which she could see from her bed. The girls were lovely, regularly attending to her needs night and day.

Unfortunately, Mum was only there a few weeks before passing away but in that time she was treated with the dignity that a lady of 92 deserves. The manager is a lovely young man, caring and approachable and the staff are brilliant. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for the next chapter in their loved one's life and for their peace of mind.

My mother was resident in this home for nearly a year following poor health issues. She had her own private room, bathroom facilities, television etc. They provided exceptional care to my mother at all times and were happy in their work. They also provide days out and external stimulation.
There are daily activities which take place whether you want to participate or decide not to. We are unable to find fault in this home which is rare these days and they provided a perfect setting for my mums later years.

I would highly recommend Burgh House Residential Care as a full package if you are in the position to need the facilities for yourself or for a loved one. We cannot thank them enough for their wonderful care.

I was recommended giving Brugh House a look from a customer of mine, so that's what I did.

From the first visit to the home we all knew it was a nice homely place and that my nanny would settle here (which I'm glad to say she has and has become to know this as her home).

Unlike other places, you can come and go here to see you're relatives at any time of the night and day like you would if they were still living at home (which is not the case in other places that have set visiting hours).

From the very top (manager) down all staff are very nice and approachable and nothing is too much to ask of them, there are always different activities going on and trips out of the home, which my nanny takes advantage of.

I like the fact that we are encouraged to also use it as a home, if we want a coffee we can go and grab one, it really is a home from home. Trust me when I say your loved ones will be in safe hands!

The care and kindness in Burgh House are wonderful. The management is fully engaged with the residents which makes it much more of a home. Different activities most days help keep minds alert and help people chat together and not sit on their own all day in their rooms.

Being in a care home is not most peoples choice but if it's necessary this home has to be ranked amongst the best.

My father in law resides at Burgh House.
From the moment we needed help to safeguard his care, Burgh House has been incredible. Although there were difficulties with him settling at first, Burgh House were kind and very patient, he now loves his 'hotel'.
Recently with health issues, his care has been incredible.
While keeping the standard of fun and care at all times the home meets each resident's needs.
We are so grateful to all the staff for the brilliant way they have looked after our relative.

Thank you.
