After moving to Faldonside Lodge in Dec.19, the care team quickly recognised my dad’s difficulties and it was clear the support they provided was exceptional. Recently my mum became ill, the staff knew her from her regular visits and they frequently asked after her while she was in hospital, then in
the last days of her life, the Manager of the home and one of the carers went out of their way to bring my dad the 25 miles to visit my mum for the last time, which given my dad’s reduced mobility and anxieties, was no small task. After my mum died the staff were empathetic and compassionate towards our whole family, on the day of the funeral a carer accompanied my dad, she was amazingly compassionate and caring towards my dad. I have had many experiences with care homes over the years, but the care, compassion and person-centred approach that Faldonside have shown towards my dad and our whole family is outstanding and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a care home.

Smaller, bright and airy care home in a good location near local shops and seaside, clean and well maintained.
Professionally managed with excellent organisation, very approachable and helpful on any aspect concerning patients. Health and Safety and infection control well organised and maintained.
High
standard of professional care given at all times of the day and night. Carers are friendly and will do anything to make their patients stay feel like being in their own home. For example, getting things from the local shops when their patients are unable to do so.
Food is of high quality, varied and plentiful, with fresh locally grown vegetables
My Mums room was of a good size with its own TV and plenty of storage for clothes and personal belongings. There is a large bright lounge with TV and there is a good-sized dining room for the able patients.
Visiting was carefully managed during the Coronavirus for the protection of patients and staff but I was welcomed warmly and looked after well.

Finding Faldonside felt like an extreme stroke of good luck. I knew I was in the right place as soon as I walked through the door; light, clean, airy and welcoming.
My Mum stayed here for 9 months, my review is for September 2014 to May 2015. During all that time the staff were lovely, it was always
a pleasure to visit. I turned up at all times of the day and early evening and never came across anything that caused me any kind of worry.
The Manager runs a very good, caring home, he’s a professional, but always friendly and approachable and all the staff who are wonderful people in their own right take their lead from him.
The standard of care is exceptional, thoughtful, kind, effective and really quite inspiring.
Having my mum stay here was the best decision we ever made.
I doubt you could find a better home anywhere.
