Was with my dad today and again noticed the radiator in his room has still not been fixed. It has been over two months now it has not worked. Although he has an old heater, it is not that warm in his room. I was disappointed at what my dad was offered for his tea on 26th December - egg on toast is not
very festive.

As a new Manager, it is sad to receive less favourable reviews, however, without these reviews, it is impossible to learn and move the home forward.
Having spoken with you I am confident that things are improving and that you will continue to see improvements in the home over the coming months.
There does appear to be an issue with the heating in this room, which is being looked into, which is why we have moved Dad into a different room until fixed satisfactorily.

Needs a refresh of decoration in residents' rooms, its looking very tired and somewhat depressing.
Trips need to be better thought out as to cancel at the last minute is very upsetting for the residents.

Struggling to find a Care Home that could provide urgent short notice respite care for my Dad I had called several local ones when I tried Olive House. The call was answered by a lady who from the start was so warm and welcoming, she understood the situation our family was in and went above and beyond
to ensure there was a room ready for Dad for the very next day.
Although initially due to stay for a week this was extended to 2 weeks as Dad was getting on so well. The level of care he received was first class and every member of staff I encountered was so friendly and clearly all very passionate about their jobs.
Dad loved the food and the activities he was invited to participate in and although it took him a little while to get used to the everyday noise of a Care Home I know he thoroughly enjoyed his time there.
A massive thank you to all at Olive House.

I enjoy the food very much. The carers are very kind and think of me very much. The daytime medication is of real help and always on time. The meals are very nutritious. I am given plenty of drinks during the day.

I cannot praise Olive House enough. The manager and staff have been absolutely brilliant, not only for my mother's end of life care since Christmas but for the last seven and a half years as a resident at Olive House. I have visited the home every single day for seven years, it is like a second home
for me, all the staff are like my extended family. My mother had a wonderful, happy and fun life due to the fantastic staff members. On the evening of the 13th of April, as I sat with mum, holding her hand, it was our wonderful manager plus the night staff who sat and helped me with mum as she passed away. That is what you call great staff. Thank you!

Dad has settled in well. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is convenient and the surroundings good. The visiting arrangement are, currently, restricted by Covid but the family and friends have had no trouble in getting to see him. Overall, Olive House is a nice place for Dad to be during
his respite.

Olive House is always welcoming and friendly. My mum seems very happy there. She enjoys the food and activities. My only concern is that they seem as if they are understaffed, long time answering bells, etc.

Visited my aunt in a pod, it was clean, warm and comfortable. It was only for 30 minutes so not as long as we usually visit but we were ok with that as it's only the second visit since March.

My sister has been in the care of Olive House since she lost her husband and the carers have made Olive House a home from home for her. They also helped her to recover from the loss of her husband. They are always on the other end of the phone if we need their help. Best care home I have ever had to

Although this has been a really difficult time to see family in care homes, it was fantastic to finally see Mum in the new visitor's pod. It was good to have a 'near normal' chat with her instead of trying to shout through a window. The care home staff have been fantastic throughout the whole year trying
to keep everyone safe and providing entertainment to keep residents occupied. I can't wait until we will be able to go inside again! But know we have to be patient to keep everyone safe.

I have always felt that my Mother is well cared for, safe, made to feel important and listened to, and above all, happy at Olive House. The staff are friendly and always go above and beyond to make life happy for the residents. The latest addition of a visiting pod now makes it easy to make these much-needed
visits to see Mother and enable her to feel connected once again to the family through these difficult times of covid 19. I would not hesitate to recommend Olive House to anyone needing care,

My brother became ill during the lockdown and was discharged from the hospital to Olive House, who cared for him brilliantly while his strength returned. He can be a very difficult and ungrateful man, but the staff were always compassionate and caring and bent over backwards to help him feel comfortable
and at 'home'. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed in any way to his care.
