Mum seemed happy at Shipdham Manor therefore we were happy with how she was cared for in her last few years.
On the whole we were very satisfied with the care my great aunt received. All staff very friendly and caring to all residents. Lots of activities for residents which my great aunt thoroughly enjoyed while she was able to join in. Our appreciation and thanks goes to all staff, including management for all the care and love the showed until my great aunt passed away and beyond xx
thank you for your kind words, I will pass this onto everyone. it was a pleasure to have your great aunt here as well as all of you, as part of our family.
I found Shipdham Manor well run. The staff were very caring and very alert to quickly act on residents needs. The food was good and staff were always ready to help those who needed it. The management was always very helpful and very friendly. The staff were very pleasant and always interacting with residents.
thank you for your kind words, our staff are very skilled in responding to residents needs to ensure a high standard of care and safety is provided.
Seeing and experiencing the level of care, help and assistance and love shown to my mother since her arrival at Shipdham Manor gives me a great deal of relief. I am familiar with the high level of care provided, as my auntie stayed at the Manor for 7 years, and our family are completely happy for mum to be with you.
thank your your kind words, it is a pleasure having mum back with us after her many years of visiting.
Staff are friendly, caring and compassionate. They know the residents well and respond to their individual needs, calmly and appropriately. Residents appear clean and well cared for. There is a range of regular activities, garden for those who enjoy being outside. Sometimes the alarm bells can be left ringing for some time. Residents are safe.
thank you for your kind words, our staff are all very passionate about providing person centred care. I am sorry you feel call bells can be ringing for some time, I will address this with the staff, we complete regular call bell monitoring audits to ensure bells are responded to efficiently and will continue to monitor this.
The home has a warm homely atmosphere, the rooms are very clean, decoration is good. The residents are encouraged to bring in ornaments, pictures etc to make them feel at home. Rooms have en-suites which allows privacy & dignity for the residents. The views from the room look onto very well maintained gardens with easy access to them. The two large lounges are very spacious. The management & staff are very caring & supportive well staffed & are good at keeping familes up dated. My friend really enjoys the food & there is a wide variety of activities. The safety & security is a high priority excellent value for money.
thank you for your kind words, we are pleased that your friend has settled in well and you have been pleased with your overall experience.
I have found the Shipdham Manor care home to be an excellent choice. My wife spent the last 2 1/2 years living there and I believe she was as happy as she could possibly be whilst suffering with dementia which she has had for over 5 years in total. The family atmosphere which is encouraged at the home was largely responsible for my wife's relative happiness and I appreciated the care and support for both my wife and I have always received. I have always been made very welcome on my many visits. I would and regularly recommend the home to everyone I know and meet.
Thank you for your kind words, we pride ourselves in making a homely atmosphere to help everyone feel safe and relaxed. We are here to support loved ones as well as individuals in our care, we are one big family.
I have had two relatives stay at Shipdham Manor one of which died there, I can honestly say the cre she received was so caring and dignified right to the end, there compassion was amazing nothing was too much trouble, my other relative who still resides there is very happy and loves all the care and attention she gets. Amazing place.
thank you for your kind words, we understand that End of Life care can be difficult for all involved, we work hard to ensure that everyone feels reassured, loved and cared for to make this time as easy as possible.
Staff at Shipdham Manor are exceptional. The care and support my mother has and is receiving is outstanding. Staff always engage with family members and keep myself updated with any relevant info. Mum enjoys living at Shipdham Manor and as I, thinks very highly of all the staff.
thank you for your kind words, staff are employed not just for their skilled set but their kind and caring nature. Our staff work hard to go above and beyond and truly care about each person that enters our home, we strive for open communication and ensuring everyone is kept up to date.
I cannot praise the staff enough for the care and support that Dad and our family received, they all went above and beyond to care for dad despite the fact he could sometimes be very challenging.
As soon as you enter shipdham manor you can instantly see and feel just how much the staff really care about all their residents and even though dad was only with them for a short time it felt like an extension to our family.
The care even continues after dad passed away, a few of dads main carers came to the funeral and we were invited to come and join them at the home for some of their Christmas activities, the navitity that the staff put on was amazing.
Thank you again for making a very difficult time a lot easier.
Thank you for your kind words, we always say that when anyone comes through our door they are part of our family, and you always will be. We are really glad you enjoyed the nativity, we are hoping to do more Shipdham manor productions and are currently looking at a summer show which would be lovely...
We have met many staff over the years and they have all been friendly and caring.
The home offers regular updates on mum and keeps us well informed.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to others.
Thank you for your kind words, we involve our residents with decisions around their care and how the service is delivered to provide person centred care.
The food is a very high standard with the kitchen staff going out of their way to make sure everyone is looked after at meal times.
thank you for your kind words, we are really glad that you are happy with the care and service provided to dad. He has settled in really well from the transition to us and we are glad that this has been smooth for you all.
Shipdham Manor Care Home is an excellent home. I feel the staff all genuinely care and give their best. There are wide range of activities including visiting entertainers. The food, hygiene, medical care is excellent. The rooms are well kept and generous. I thoroughly recommend.
Thank you for your kind words, our staff are chosen not only for their skills and knowledge but their caring and friendly nature. We all work as one big team to provide outstanding care.
Happy with the care of my father, all his needs are met.
Thank you for your kind words, it is a pleasure to have dad here and he has settled in really well.
My relative has recently moved into the home and has settled in really well already. The staff are all lovely, the admin staff always greet me with a smile and are so helpful, making me feel welcome at all times. The care my relative receives is exceptional, he is treated with love, respect and dignity. I can't thank the staff enough for their care and support over this time. I would recommend Shipdham Manor to anyone
Thank you for your kind words, the transition of moving into a care home can be stressful on everyone and we aim to make this as positive as possible to aid individuals to settle in. All our staff go out of their way to make all feel at home and its lovely to hear from the moment you step in you are greeted by our lovely admin staff.
My wife has Alzheimer's and has been at Shipdham Manor for 18 months. There are no restrictions on visiting hours and I am always made to feel welcome. Staff were well together and seem happy as they perform their duties. Her room is always clean and tidy. My wife has always been a fussy eater but never refuses her food. The quality of which I can personally vouch for. Everyone at the home is treated with respect. I am very happy with the quality of care that my wife is receiving. She is safe and I can rest knowing that she is being well looked after.
Thank you for your kind words, we aim to make our home, your home away from home when you are visiting. We have recently changed our winter menus and have added more variety and choices, our chefs work hard to provide home-cooked fresh meals every day which everyone can enjoy!
From the first time I went to Shipdham Manor, I was impressed by the friendly, efficient and caring atmosphere of the home. The staff are always very welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. There are various activities and outings for the residents, and I would highly recommend it.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are always looking at different activities we can provide. Hopefully, having the local preschool visit in the next coming weeks.
Must say they also kept a close eye on her husband. They were very accommodating in supporting him to watch the funeral online as he could not attend. My grandad continues to stay at Shipdham Manor. I can't dream of him being anywhere else.
Thank you for your very kind review. Nan was a big character here, and we miss her cheeky ways. We continue to support Grandad on this journey he is going through. Thank you.
The head of care keeps me updated with any doctors visits and medication changes.
We always feel very welcome to visit and I like how the staff know who I am and talk about my mum with fondness.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. Your mum is such a big character here and has a good relationship with a lot of the staff.
Shipdham Manor is mainly a dementia home, so my friend found it noisy and residents kept coming into her room. The staff were excellent but trained more for dementia residents. The food was good. The internal decorations could do with some paint and TLC.
Thank you for your kind review. Majority of our residents do have dementia and we have put measures in place to make sure all residents have their own privacy and space. We have a process in place and currently working on our inside decorations. I do apologise for the late response I was having difficulty with my account. I hope you are well.

Meet the Team (7)
I love that we are all one big team, we all get on and muck in. The residents' welfare is everyone’s priority no matter what job role they have. My favourite part of my role is spending 1 to 1 time with the residents, being able to talk and listen to them, having a laugh and making them smile.
Sheena is the activities co-ordinator and she plans fantastic shows, classes and fundraising events for the residents as well as providing group and one to one activities for the residents, Please see the activities board near the main reception for the weeks' activities.
“Our motto is that care comes first no matter what and the whole team here lives by this. All team members will get out on the floor and help when needed. We want to be sure residents can continue to live normal and fulfilling lives.”
“I had never worked in care before but knew that’s what I wanted to do, Shipdham Manor has a good reputation and good reviews when I spoke to people and done some research. I love that everyone at Shipdham Manor works as a team, it’s like a big family, our residents are our main priority, and we all do our best to ensure they are happy and well looked after.”
“I started working at Healthcare Homes in 2012. I started as a kitchen assistant straight from school and am proud to have been made head cook; it’s the highlight of my career so far!”
My favourite part of my job is being able to bring enjoyment into the lives of our residents. I work hard on developing new and exciting plans for activities that meet the changing needs of our residents. When I'm out and about, I'm always keeping my eyes open for new ideas that I can try. Recently, I have taken on the role of administrator, and I am enjoying learning more about the business side of things.
I have been working at Shipdham Manor for 25 years now, and I love every aspect of my job. I find it particularly rewarding to build relationships with the residents and offer them the support and care they need. The staff I work alongside, as well as the wonderful residents I get to care for, are the reasons why I have been here for so long. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else, as Shipdham Manor feels like my home away from home.
