I would like to thank all the staff for the wonderful care you gave my mum for the short time she was with you. The place was always spotless, and the carers were amazing. My mum came from a bad run home to you, and I can't thank you enough for taking her and looking after her so well.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the manager and the team.
We were allowed to practically move in to be with Mum during her last days on this earth, and whilst it was a very sad time for us, it was so comforting to spend around the clock time with her during her last
journey. At a time, when so many have been deprived of spending time with their loved ones, we felt honoured and privileged to be given this time to say goodbye one more time.
The staff were amazing and sensitive to the situation, and our feelings, what a great team, we were treated as if part of the home. We will never forget your kindness and care towards us and our mother. Thank you to you all.

Firstly, I want to express heartfelt gratitude for the care you gave my father during the few months he was with you. He was happy and much more settled during those months, and you gave us peace of mind that he was safe, that his needs however complex and despite his somewhat challenging behaviour
at times were met and fulfilled with dignity, care and kindness.
The home was always clean, well organised, the staff were all polite, helpful with queries and always kept us updated with health issues etc.
The activities were well organised, fun and plentiful.
The food was always varied, the choice was good and adapted to his needs at times.
Thank you for being with him and caring for him during his last days through this long journey of his life, and for giving him the comfort we so wish we could have given him ourselves, especially with the Covid-19 situation restrictions in place, you kept us informed every step of the way with compassion and understanding.
We would recommend you to others based on our experience.

My father arrived at this wonderful care home on 16th May. The Manager went way beyond the call of duty with his assistance and was extremely kind and compassionate with an unexpected situation. All other staff were equally helpful and kind and made the eventual arrival at my father's new home much
easier. A huge thanks to them all. I just have to pray now, that father will settle in. Obviously I am not able to comment fully about all of the following facilities, as my father is newly arrived.

My husband has recently become a resident at Summerville Care Home. On the 17th April there was a tea party to celebrate the Queens 90th birthday. I was truly amazed at the trouble the staff went to, to make it a very special day. The entertainment was tops, the banjo man gave a great performance and
everyone who could was encouraged to get up and dance. It was a joy to see the happiness on their faces. What can I say to express how good it was for the residents at Summerville and also invited residents from other homes. I must say that the buffet food was excellent and the birthday cake was very special. The staff and helpers did a really wonderful job. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.192)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.192) out of 10 for Summerville House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Summerville House is calculated as follows: ( (11 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 11 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.192 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Summerville House is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.2 = 0.192

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
