Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees
for respite stays.

an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Since Mum moved into Davers Court Care Home she has been treated with the utmost dignity and respect. She was underweight when she arrived, could hardly speak and was wheelchair bound but after just 2 months she is eating well, chatty and now walking a few steps on a frame. She is also interested in
her surroundings again and thinks that she is staying in a very nice hotel so we are more than happy with her care.
We understand that there are various activities most days and although we haven't witnessed any as yet they sound very appropriate. Mum loves music and is always singing to herself so any activity involving music would be very beneficial.
We only have one small gripe and because the home was locked down during a Covid outbreak over the Christmas period was probably why communication lacked. We have asked several times for Mum to have her hair done regularly on a fortnightly basis so would be grateful if this is put into place and Mum looks like the mum we know and love again.

I feel having male as well as female carers has helped my husband to accept being in a Care Home. Generally, there seems adequate staff around but sometimes there seems no one. Cleanliness seems good and rooms are always tidy with clutter minimal. The catering seems to be a strength of Davers Court,
and by good food, easy selection for residents, and a sense of dignity at the table with good tableware, this gives a feel-good factor. All in all a good experience for residents as well as family and friends.

My aunt became unable to cope at home and I realised I had to find her a care home. She was in the hospital, not because she needed medical care but because she needed personal care and I knew I had to move her quickly. I emailed the home to enquire about availability and I was contacted shortly afterwards.
From that first phone call, I realised they were very efficient and helpful. We were allowed to book her in for 28 days of respite to make sure she was happy there and she is now a permanent resident. The staff are really friendly and do their best to accommodate personal preferences. The food is good with a varied choice. I particularly like the cafe area where we can sit when we visit and get refreshments for a small donation. My aunt has settled well and likes to join in with all the activities. I am so pleased I chose Davers Court.

My wife and I visited my sister not long after she moved in. I was impressed by the quality of the environment in the building and my sister's room was lovely. She herself reported very favourably on her new home, mentioning, in particular, the food. I wasn't there for more than 40 minutes and will
not be returning any time soon but I have formed a very favourable impression. The staff were courteous and helpful (if a little slow to come to the reception desk). Thank you.

My mother is 96 years old and in good physical and mental health, and Davers Court has provided a warm and secure environment for her. My sister and I can sleep safely and not worry about her.
From an administrative point of view, it's been great; there was a delay in finding a place, and during that
time, we were kept fully informed in an open and honest way, and they were very accommodating in letting my mum move into one room and then change to another, more appropriate one later. Her room is beautiful, and she seems well cared for, both physically and mentally.

Overall, very good care. The staff are all kind and helpful, some require more training. Personal items sometimes go astray. Clothes are washed without reference to washing instructions and are therefore ruined. Over-emphasis on independence, which can lead to neglect of personal hygiene. Family care
instructions are not adhered to. Management did not offer or make available the pod visits on many occasions during the pandemic which had a significant detrimental effect on the mental well-being of my relative.

We are sorry to hear that on occasions personal items have gone astray and that items of clothing haven’t been washed appropriately. As always, the Home Manager is available to speak to about any of these concerns.

At Care UK, we pride ourselves on the care we provide and for enabling, supporting, and encouraging residents with full mental capacity to make choices about their care and how much they would like to be involved in day-to-day activities. We also ensure that residents in our care are supported to maintain their independence. All care interventions are performed in the best interests of our residents, consulting with other health professionals, and those involved in the resident’s care, should there be fluctuating capacity.

As you can appreciate visiting has been difficult to organise during the pandemic because of restrictions care homes have been under.

This is a very happy care home. Mum settled in very well and has been cared for by an amazing team of carers - nothing is too much trouble for them. There is a lot of love and understanding given to the residents and their families.

Auntie is a very independent lady and found it difficult to accept that she needed 24 hour care at first, but now is settled and happy. I have found the staff friendly and welcoming and keep me informed of any concerns. She has excellent care and is looked after very well. Auntie has a limited diet
and they do their best to give her food she enjoys and can eat.

My mother has been a resident at Davers Court for over three years and is very happy there. The staff are dedicated and caring and any problems that my mother has had have been addressed quickly. Staff are making sure everyone is comfortable during this hot spell. Cold drinks and ice lollies are provided at regular intervals. The common areas are cooled with fans. Last week my mother and son went on a ride to the Abbey Gardens and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Overall, happy with the care home. The only criticism we have is that when we telephone to speak to Dad or someone at the care home, we often can't get through to anyone. We understand that you are very busy, but it would be good if there was someone there to man the phones.

What a team! Excellent communications from all staff and a genuine concern for the welfare of the residents.
Covid has been a challenge for all but the Davers Court team have risen to the challenge and their actions have been 100% to ensure the safety of all, residents and staff alike.
Great care
team, cleaners, canteen staff, office staff, receptionists, management team etc under the home manager's guidance are impressive.
My mother had a challenging time when she came to Davers Court and being fiercely independent has struggled to adapt, but with the care and support from all, she is feeling the support and care that Davers Court provides.

My friend's experience from start to finish was excellent. From first contact to when she left Davers Court the staff were caring and compassionate and nothing was too much trouble. Although the home was in lockdown they still managed to ensure all residents felt safe and secure.

My nan became too poorly for us as a family to look after, so we decided to send her to Davers Court after word of mouth suggested the home was the best. The transition from hospital to the care home had complications but the customer relations manager took charge and made all the phone calls and necessary
arrangements and took so much stress and worry and Nan arrived at Davers Court. Once at the home the staff were caring and respectful. They not only looked after my nan but also me too, nothing was too much trouble, they always had time to sit with me and chat when I was upset. Unfortunately, my nan didn't live long and the staff arranged everything with the funeral directors. Even after she died I had phone calls to offer condolences and asking how I was doing, and if they could do anything to help me. The whole experience was upsetting and I felt so guilty for putting my nan in a home but I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they have done and I will never forget their kindness and compassion.

My mother moved into Davers Court from another area. Having viewed three different suites to find the one that worked best for her, we were so pleased to leave her that first day with a smile on her face and with her talking freely to staff.
This home couldn’t be more different than the one she had
been placed in after a short stay in hospital. It’s comfortable, with good food, caring staff and some extra treats available such as a hairdresser and a shop.

As a recently arrived resident, my mother has been made very welcome by all the staff and other residents. I have been impressed with the level of communication from Davers Court as my mother has settled in and as the difficult Covid-19 situation in the home has unfolded.
A minor frustration has been
occasional difficulty in reaching my mother by telephone. This is undoubtedly an indication of how busy the staff are being kept as a result of Covid restrictions.
Overall, as the daughter of a new resident, I have been impressed by Davers Court and am pleased to have chosen it for my mother.

I found Davers Court very homely and the staff were friendly. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for my mum.
I was impressed with the little personal touches regarding my mum's room and it was clear that a lot of trouble had been taken to make her feel very much at home.

Abhilash Gopi

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

I am passionate about providing meaningful care to older people and ensuring that we make a positive impact on residents’ lives.


I have been a home manager for eight years and have a BSc Hons. in nursing, as well as a level five in health and social care. I chose to join Care UK because of its values and ethos.


In my role, you need to be patient, have good listening and communication skills, and be understanding. Being calm in any situation helps too.


I think my favourite part of the day is the morning. It’s a time when we can decide what to prioritise and how to approach the day.


A lot of moments stand out for me as highlights. I helped achieve an ‘outstanding’ rating for another Care UK home in 2021. I’m also proud to be able to support colleagues and share the knowledge I’ve learned over the years. It’s all about improving care and standards for the better so residents can benefit.


Outside of work, I captain a local cricket team. I also enjoy reading and spending time with my family. My wife is also a nurse, and we have three children so life is wonderful and busy.
