The management of this home is very good. It is a happy positive place to come into. The front of house staff and deputy manager are welcoming and know my mother well. This is very good and welcome. Moving into care is traumatic for all. The home has managed this exceptionally for me and mother. What is of notice is that there is no difference in care, ethos, or practice on her wing with the regular change of staff. This is driven by the quality of the senior staff in leading the teams. It is seamless. A very happy home with countless positives and opportunities to learn to improve practice taken on board effortlessly.

My Father recently passed away after many years under the care of the team at Davers Court. Throughout the team has looked after him with care and dignity. The facilities are excellent and the home was always looking for ways to improve and introduce new initiatives, ranging from a 'shop' the residents could visit, to animals being brought in to add extra interest to the day. Being a number of hours away, the communication and engagement was first class and I always felt informed. I can not praise the entire team enough and Davers Court would be my immediate choice if the unfortunate situation arose again where a relative needed residential care. 5 stars.

My mother recently passed away at Davers Court following a diagnosis of cancer.

There are no words to express how fantastic the team at Davers Court were throughout her time with them from the staff to management. During her illness, the home did everything necessary to keep her comfortable liaising with the GP and family. The caring and support given to both myself and my mother during her last days were outstanding by the team on her unit both day and night. Amazing, generous, kind, understanding and professional are just a few words to describe them. This is all on top of such comfortable, clean and homely surroundings not to mention the fantastic food. Thank you all.

Mum has lived in Davers Court for four months now and I cannot express how happy we are with every aspect of the home! The food is amazing. The staff are so friendly even when Mum is being difficult. 10/10 for cleanliness, even Mum has commented on how lovely and clean it is. We now have peace of mind that she is in a happy and safe environment.

Amazing care is given to my Grandad. My Grandad has dementia and the staff here provide him with the respect and dignity he deserves. Davers court has a lovely atmosphere and the staff always make our family feel welcome. I believe my Grandad is still alive due to the care he receives here.

My father has been in this care home for 16 months and all the staff show compassion and empathy in every aspect of his care and they make all family members feel welcome any time, night and day. The office staff always make you feel welcome and the kitchen staff work hard to provide excellent meal choices at the home. Brilliant service throughout. Thank you all.

An excellent service which enabled my husband to recover from an operation. It was a difficult time as he has dementia but the professional, caring team gave him the best chance of recovery.

My father lived in this home for just over a year until he sadly passed away. He thoroughly enjoyed being in the home and greatly appreciated the care, warmth and friendliness of all the staff (managers, carers, nursing staff and all those involved with the everyday running of the home). It gave him a new lease of life just as he needed it as his health and mobility gradually declined.

I would recommend the Davers Court in Bury St Edmunds unreservedly having seen the way that my father was helped and supported.

Although only at Davers Court for 5 months, my sister was extremely happy and very well cared for, all staff were very attentive and aware of any issues.

Relatives and friends were warmly welcomed in all areas. In total felt that the pressure had been taken off us a family.

I cannot thank the staff enough for their professionalism and kindness. From the moment that I made the first enquiry, I couldn't have hoped for a better service. If unable to answer my queries at the time of calling then someone called back very promptly. In the 10 days my father was with you he received more care than he had had in the previous 5 months. Thank you.

I would not hesitate to recommend Davers Court to anyone who needed excellent care. The compassion, respect, dignity and privacy was paramount by all of the staff, nothing was too much trouble, the food was fantastic and everywhere was clean and tidy.

I am absolutely confident that my partner received the best of care during his stay, and cannot wait to visit again soon.

My mother stayed for 10 days respite care following a hip operation.

The care and kindness she received meant that although she came into Davers Court in a wheelchair she was able to walk out. No mean feat for someone of 95! Many thanks.

From my very first visit, in November 2017, to my neighbour in Davers Court, I could see how well he was being looked after. He looked warm, clean and very comfy. He had a pleasant room with his own TV and it was very quiet. The staff I met couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating and were genuinely caring even though he could be extremely difficult a lot of the time. There was often entertainment taking place in the main reception and I even saw staff dancing with residents. The home always looked clean and always smelt fresh. Sadly, my neighbour recently passed away but I know the staff did everything they possibly could for him in his final days. This is the second review I have submitted for Davers Court, the first being shortly after he went in. I can't speak more highly of the home and when the time comes, would be very happy to spend time in there myself! Thank you to all the dedicated staff- it's you who make it the welcoming home it is! Thank you.

Management and all staff were very helpful, caring and compassionate during my fathers stay at Davers Court. The home is well kept and modern with excellent facilities - my father particularly enjoyed the day centre on site and when able, joining in with the activities on offer as well as having coffee in the downstairs cafe.

They delivered execellent palliative care during his final days and he was made as comfortable as possible. As well as caring for my father, staff and management supported the family, at this very difficult time, emotionally and physically. We were able to use guest accommodation to stay on site 24/7 to enable us to spend as much time as possible with our father, with meals and drinks as required. Nothing was too much trouble - Thank you Davers Court.

My husband has just gone into Davers Court, before this he was at home and used the Day Care there.
He had respite in the home and loved it, that is why I chose this home.
He is well looked after and the staff are so kind and friendly. He tells me he loves it there.
That makes me feel better and do not feel so guilty, but of course, I would rather he was at home with me.

He is there for his own safety and also for my health.

Meet the Team (1)

Sophie Evans
Sophie EvansJob Title:Home Manager

I have over 14 years’ experience in the care sector, working my way up from a Care Assistant, and I joined Care UK in 2016.

I’m passionate about working with the team to make Davers Court the very best it can be. Residents are happy and well cared for; it’s great when one of them wants to tell me about something they’ve enjoyed doing that day, because if they’re happy, we’re happy.

I love leading the team to provide the best possible care and support colleagues internally to be the best they can be and develop in the same ways I have over the years to reach their career goals.

It takes the right people to make a house a home, and the Davers family are a true family home.
