Lovely residence mum loves it here. Amazing staff. Made to feel very welcome.
Thank you for your review. We are proud that our visitors always feel welcome and comfortable on their visits to the home.
The staff have always struck me as caring and polite. I have not really had any dealings with management so far. My mum was a little concerned about the security of items in her room, after 'losing' items. However, one of those turned up in the chest at the foot of her bed, which she seemed unaware of (because it looked like a seat?) She said that other residents sometimes wandered into other's rooms, although I don't know if this is true.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased that staff have made you feel welcome on your visits. Mum has felt that items have been lost but these have always been found in a safe place in mums room, where she has left them. We are not aware of any residents having access to mums room however, we can discuss with mum if she would like to have a key and keep her door locked.
We find the home excellent staff warm and friendly just the care Pauline needs. 100/100

I am pleased that you were happy with the care and support that your mum received during her stay with us here at Lilac Lodge. The staff at Lilac Lodge are a dedicated team, being happy and helpful makes a wonderful caring environment and I will pass your kind comments onto the staff.
No one wants to go into a care home and no family is wanting this either - however, couldn't have asked for better care, compassion and genuine affection given to my mum during the 2 years she was with Lilac Lodge. Knowing she was safe, had stimulation and trips out when she wanted to was so important. With at times complete health needs, the staff were always there, kind and professional. There is a real and genuine feeling of extended family - from the management, to house-keeping and kitchen, and nursing - all were valued and brilliant with mum an welcoming to families.
Thank you for your very kind words. I am very pleased that you are happy with the care that staff give, and that you have felt the warmth of a family atmosphere here at the home.

Meet the Team (4)

My career in care started in January 2000 when I started working as a carer and then team leader in a Suffolk County Council Home in Lowestoft. Every day was different and I loved the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of the vulnerable and frail people that I cared for.
I later became the manager of an older person’s rehabilitation unit and I worked in this role for 6 years as part of a multi-disciplinary team working alongside, social workers, occupational therapists and physiotherapists. When the funding ended for this service I became the manager of the Wellbeing Centre. This involved providing care and stimulating activities for older people and people with dementia.
In 2015, I started my employment with Kingsley Healthcare as manager of Lilac Lodge and Lavender Cottage.
I am proud to manage the home and the team that I work with. The staff are kind, caring and respectful to all residents. The home has a warm and welcoming feeling that is often commented on by families and visitors.

Kimberley Shaw is our deputy manager, and she started her career in teaching, switching to the care sector in 2015. She relishes her role working with both residents and staff.

I joined Lilac Lodge in March 2026 and have over 10 years of experience working in health and care settings, including 3 years in administrative roles. I enjoy the variety my role offers, as well as the opportunity to solve problems and support the day-to-day running of the home. What I enjoy most about working at Lilac Lodge is its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Since joining, I have enjoyed becoming part of a friendly and supportive team that genuinely cares about our residents. Outside of work, I enjoy baking and spending quality time with my family.

I joined the team at Lilac Lodge in March 2023. I have over eight years of experience working in residential care homes and feel I have the knowledge and experience to provide well-balanced meals and cater for the residents who have dietary requirements. The team at Lilac Lodge is very friendly, and my colleagues make me feel very welcome. I feel part of a team here and love working with everyone.
In my spare time, I love to travel to different places. I also enjoy trying different restaurants and cake making.
