Whilst the staff are caring and friendly they work hard. I don't feel there is enough of them to cope with all the residents' needs. It is not their fault as they all do their best but I feel they are stretched. Overall it is a personable home and the activities they bring in to entertain residents...

It is not their fault as they all do their best but I feel they are stretched. Overall it is a personable home and the activities they bring in to entertain residents are a lovely bonus.

Thank you for the nice review, I just want to explain about the number of staff on duty. Every shift the number of staff is calculated based on Dependency Rating Tool wherein we record the time we spend on each resident within 24 hours covering all the activities of daily living, it will then calculate how many staff needed for 24 hours. We review the needs every month as minimum and immediately when there is a sudden change in the resident's needs. This is a very effective and transparent tool to ensure each individual resident get the time they need at all time.

With the care and support of the staff, our father has settled in well at St Mary's. The staff have also supported us as a family to come to terms with father having to go into care. Staff are friendly and very approachable at all times. We feel we made an excellent choice choosing St Mary's for our father and he has improved in health since being cared for by the staff.

Overall Experience
My mother has been in St Mary's for three and a half years. She has been treated very well with the utmost kindness. All the staff are brilliant and understand the needs of these frail, elderly people. It is a challenging job especially as most have dementia of varying degrees.

My mother has been in St Mary's for three and a half years. She has been treated very well with the utmost kindness. All the staff are brilliant and understand the needs of these frail, elderly people. It is a challenging job especially as most have dementia of varying degrees.
The food is good and looks very appetising. The rooms are kept spotless and my mother always looks clean and tidy. I cannot speak too highly of the care she receives. Everyone is kind to me too and I know I can call in at any time to speak to the staff about any queries or worries I have about my mother's health. They are friendly and helpful. It is nice to know when I leave her she is well looked after and by people who genuinely care.

My mother has been in the home since March 2017. In that time I have found her care to be excellent. I am informed of any problems and her condition is constantly reviewed and the necessary action taken.
