The purpose-built home provides residential and dementia care for older people, both permanently and on a short-term basis, as well as compassionate end of life care.

Mills Meadow has stunning lounges, a café with lots of homemade cake, a cinema room, art room and hair salon. All en-suite bedrooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, and residents can bring their own possessions and furniture to make their room feel more like home.

The lifestyle team works hard to guarantee residents and day club members always have something fun to do, with regular activities, entertainment and outings in the minibus.

Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees
for respite stays.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Mills Meadow is a lovely care home. There is always something going on for the residents. It is clean, bright and fresh. We always take Nan to the cafe or around the garden. Her room is lovely and clean and she seems very happy.

Mills Meadow agreed to take mother from hospital after a stroke because she was already a member of their day club. She was very poorly but they quickly made her feel cared for, comfortable and cleared up problems of soreness and lack of cleanliness left from the hospital.
Their care and communication
could not be faulted - even coming on days off to see how she was. Her last weeks were vastly better at Mills Meadow than they would have been elsewhere and we were all treated with dignity and love.

My brother and I would like to thank Mills Meadow staff for the care of our parents. The management and office staff have been so helpful with the transition from home to care home and especially to me their daughter, giving me support in a difficult time.
It's been a long time since we have seen both
our parents, especially our mum, who now has dementia, smile so much. That is also down to daycare staff who have given Mum a chance to have a life for herself after caring for Dad for a number of years and a chance to meet old friends and new.

I travelled from New Zealand to visit a family member. I was impressed by the staff who were caring, friendly and interested but also professional. Due to the warmth of the staff, it felt very welcoming and I appreciated the fact that they see family as important.


The physical layout offers numerous

different environments to meet with residents. The rooms are spacious with nice decor and outlooks. The staff are attentive and responsive. Parking was easy and the security system was very clear and well organized. People of all ages congregate in the cafe area and outdoor courtyard. The spacious lawn allowed us to have a pleasant walk through the grounds. I had lunch and had a very nice salad and new potatoes.


I leave confident that he is in safe hands and is well cared for. More importantly he seems very happy and he has established good relationships with all the staff. It was good to be hosted by him in his home. Mills Meadow create an atmosphere that made it feel like his home.

My huge thanks and deep appreciation to management and staff at Care UK in Framlingham. Their combined efforts, especially on my birthday, 23rd December and Christmas, were overwhelming, to say the least. Such kindnesses and considerations can be rather thin on the ground these days - but not in Framlingham

Although mum's behaviour was often very challenging, the Mills Meadow staff responded with immense professionalism, patience, understanding. Day and night, the kindness given to mum could not have been bettered. They also supported me tirelessly too, helping to bring to bear due to external agencies
needed to help mum in her battle with dementia.

The staff are cheery and helpful. They take a real genuine interest in the residents. They were always willing to provide services such as lunch or coffee for us in the Mere Cafe when I came to visit my friend in residence. The facility is clean and homey, I feel my friend is being well looked after.

I was extremely anxious and very sad about the prospect of respite care for my mother, but after two years of full time care for her, I found myself exhausted and weighed down.
First step; Daycare. Wow! I was completely surprised. Daycare at Mills Meadow was not about dumping my mother, so I could
have a break, it was about giving her a treat! A lovely day with varied activities in a safe and beautiful environment with the friendliest, warmest professional care.
Now in respite care, my mother continues to receive the best of care. 'They look after me' she told me. That's the proof for me of a good care home. The best.

An oasis is one of East Anglia's prettiest towns, only opened recently and this shows in the quality and range of facilities, backed up by energetic staff this makes it ideal for respite care.

Mills Meadow is like a jewel in the crown of Framlington town.
A new build with a high specification with many comfortable public rooms and bedrooms. There is always a welcome by a member of staff as you enter the building and you are immediately offered a hot drink. My mother has been there for 6
weeks now and has settled in well. "The food is amazing" she says.

My mother has vascular dementia and has been in Mills Meadow care home since last September. I cannot praise the management or staff enough for the attention they give her and so supportive to me when I have been upset because of how mum is. The place is always so clean and such a happy atmosphere.
I have taken several friends over there to see mum and they all remark on what a lovely place it is. I can only speak very highly of the home, brilliant.

As mum declined both mentally and physically, we were comforted in that we knew she was being taken care of by kind and caring people. This was true to the very end. No matter what time of day we came by, mum was always comfortable, safe and content.

Being disabled the fact that my mother was in a safe, reliable and caring environment meant a lot to my peace of mind, and my brother and sisters.
Mills Meadow was a heaven of peace and tranquillity. My mother was happy, safe and well cared for. Although the choice for Mills Meadow wasn't mine, but
social services, I had no complaints and if I had the choice it would have been no different. Many, many thanks for everything.

Since my father has been at Mills Meadow, the care given to him has been exemplary, kind and loving. The atmosphere in the last three to four weeks has really improved with the changing and renewal of staff. I could not wish for more complete care. Every need is lovingly cared for. I was disappointed with the care I received. Prior to going to into the home I was assessed for my dietary requirements and the amount of care I needed, I do not feel these were provided. I did not have assistance with showering or dressing. The food I need, soya milk, rye bread were not provided until
15th/16th, consequently I had stomach pains for 2 days. Also being vegetarian these meals were non existent, fish was provided. Quantity and quality poor. Staff cheerful and kind but service poor. Food brought by hand and not on a tray table for eating not always "set" properly. I did not consider it value for money, certainly not worth £1000!!!

I’ve worked at Care UK since November 2005.


I absolutely love this organisation and what it stands for. Being promoted to the role of Home Manager at Mills Meadow has been the highlight of my career. Before this, I was the Deputy Manager of Care UK’s Britten Court.


As Home Manager, I believe it’s important to create good relationships with all team members and residents in the home, as well as relatives. You need to be approachable, understanding and sympathetic, but also firm when needed. As well as achieving all the relevant qualifications for this role, I’m trained as a Red Umbrella mental health first aider.


The most important part of my role is ensuring that the highest quality care is provided for residents at all times.


I love seeing residents happy in their homes – it's a sign that the team is doing a good job. I’m proud to be able to make a difference to so many people’s lives in my role.
