9.8 St Anne's has a Review Score of 9.8 (9.832)

The Review Score of 9.8 (maximum of 10) for St Anne's is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for St Anne's in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.832 for St Anne's is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.832

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered beds. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered beds has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Anne's is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 6.6 positive Reviews (33 registered beds ÷ 5). 8 Reviews ÷ 6.6 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

I cared for my mother in her home for five years and when she became unable to carry on living alone and became a danger to herself, my brother and I decided to place her at St Anne's knowing that it was an excellent care home. She has settled well. It has helped her speech and her depression and anxiety. She has friends and enjoys the games and activities provided in the home. Sometimes she goes on the outings in the minibus. She smiles now, something rarely seen before entering and settling in the home. St. Anne's has actually improved her quality of life. She has her hair done by the hairdresser frequently and nail polish put on by one of the carers. Staff are very caring, friendly and approachable. If there are any problems they are sorted out quickly. I wish every care home could be as good as this.

My father went into St Anne's for 9 nights of respite as his wife (my step-mother) was finding it hard to cope with him and she wanted a holiday. A few days later, my sister was visiting him and he started to cry. She thought it was that he wanted to go home, but he was crying because he wanted to stay in St Anne's because it was so nice, the food was delicious and the staff were lovely. Hence, he is still there. He has put on weight (he wasn't eating at home). His mobility has improved and he is talking more and he is very happy.

My mother moved into St Anne's March 2016 and has been treated with respect and care and is very happy here. She suffers from early onset dementia and is disabled, with the care and interaction she receives, has improved greatly. I have eaten meals at St Anne's the food is lovely, the whole building is clean and well maintained and staff are very warm and friendly. My mother and I looked at several care homes in the area and St Anne's was the very best.

We visited my aunt on 4 occasions over 3 days. Every member of staff we met was friendly and helpful. We saw consistent evidence of my aunt being treated with the utmost respect, courtesy and care. The home was clean. We saw an activity sheet which she was given, showing a wide range of activities she could join in with. She was given choices about when to get up, have meals, have a shower, go to bed etc. Staff knocked on the door before entering. We saw evidence that the staff are trained in dementia care and are aware of visual impairment. We were very impressed.
