I have lived here for the past four months and have found the atmosphere to be warm and friendly. The staff are helpful and considerate at all times and any special requests are attended to promptly. Meds are served at regular times throughout the day and the food is of a high standard.
My mother was very happy and comfortable. Her care was excellent. The family have been given excellent support with moving our mother around and settling her. My mother has Alzheimer's/ Vascular dementia and will be moved to another place to suit her needs.
I feel safe.
It's lovely here. The girls are very kind and see to one's every need, even bringing you a cup of tea in the middle of the night.
I have been very happy here. The staff are all very helpful, cheerful and reliable.
The Christmas panto was excellent, as a guest I felt very much at ease and very welcome. The performance was followed by a great party. The music, food and drinks all added to a lovely Christmas experience.
The buffet was excellent with lots of choice and staff made us feel at ease.
Whenever I come here, I'm always made welcome and the staff seem very pleased to see me!
The Management and staff at Arcot House are absolutely fantastic. The Home is friendly and welcoming. We are made to feel like part of the family by all the staff. Mum is content and well looked after. We couldn't ask for more. We are completely confident in their care of Mum. We know she is safe there. I can't praise them enough. Mum has been there for 3 years now. They are amazing.
The care home us a very sociable and approachable place. I was worried, but needn't have been.
Very very lovely place.
My aunt is being cared for in the best possible way. She is 104 and her every need is carried out in the best of the ability of all the staff. The staff are always polite and spend a great deal of time making sure she is happy and content. They allow her to get up and go to bed when she wants to and not to their timetables!
This is a wonderful place, I can't fault it. Everyone is so kind and caring I certainly would recommend to anyone needing care.
I like all the carers and enjoy going out in the car.
I am very satisfied with the way I have been looked after and treated during my stay here. The caring side of things is excellent and the food and conditions very good indeed. I have no complaints whatsoever.
It is with great pleasure that I visit my friend in Arcot House I always feel welcomed both by my friend and the capable, caring staff. My friend enjoys her meals and I enjoyed a slice of delicious Christmas cake today. An excellent home.
I have been extremely well looked after here. The staff are very attentive and caring and attend to my every need. I am really happy in my rooms and enjoy having so many of my own possessions around me. I am given a great deal of encouragement by the staff who keep me interested in many things. At times when I am not feeling so well they supervise me on a regular basis. I always feel that I am safe and well looked after.
I would say 'very good'. I am happy to stay at Arcot House. I think it's perfect here and I am happy to stay here.
I like it here and I like the food. They are very nice.

Meet the Team (2)

My name is Helen and I am the Manager at Arcot House.
I have been in the care industry for 7.5 years, and at the beginning, I went into the care industry as I was looking for a job that would work around a young family, so I started working evenings for a domiciliary care company. I quickly realised how much I enjoyed it and that I wanted to make a career for myself in care, and that career adapted as my children grew up.
My favourite thing about working in care is the positive changes that you can make every day to those you support, building relationships with individuals and their families.
Supporting the staff team to grow and develop in confidence, providing outstanding care throughout every task we do.
Outside of work, I enjoy time with my family, especially going on holiday. I love the heat! I am married and have four children and one granddaughter. We are a family of animal lovers and adore our pets. When I want some quiet time, I can be found riding my horse around the lanes of East Devon.

I have been in the care industry since 2006. I started as a kitchen assistant, then transitioned into doing care. I have completed my NVQs and worked my way up to management.
I have always wanted to help people who are in need. I grew up with an extended family and have been close with my grandparents. Working with elderly people and caregiving in general makes me think of how precious life is.My favourite thing about working in care is learning about elderly people and their life experiences. Always interested in hearing their advice and take on things.
Outside of work, I do not do much outdoor stuff, but when I do, I always do it with my family, visiting places and landmarks. When I am at home, I play a lot of online games.
