Overall Experience

My parents have been in Furzeham for around 8 weeks now following a long hospital stay. The home has provided them with a stable and positive environment. The staff have been very kind to both and I am so pleased as such a big change to both their lives to now being in residential care.

I was happy that Mum and Dad's rooms are spacious enough and have a good view out of each window. They are always in clean clothes and are catered for well, there is always someone about to help out if needed. the home itself is always tidy and organised.

I would recommend Furzeham if anyone is thinking of a placement for themselves or a relative/friend who needs extra care.

The visiting hours really help me as I work it makes it so much easier.

Overall I am very pleased and glad both are in a place where they are properly cared for.

Overall Experience
My mum is currently a resident at Furzeham Lodge and has been for 14 months. She has Alzheimer dementia and can become very anxious. The staff, from the manager to the kitchen staff to the carers, have all been amazing with mum and us as we adapt to this next phase in mums life. Mum is looked after incredibly well. She is always clean and well dressed, her room and the rest of the home are clean and well presented, mums clothes are laundered and looked after too. Mum really enjoys all the activities provided at Furzeham and has also made some lovely friends.

It's been difficult to deal with mum going from independent living to full time care but the transition has been made so much easier due to the Furzeham Lodge team and we can't thank them all enough for taking care of our mum.

My mum has been a resident at Furzeham Lodge for 5 years and I can confidently say that the team consistently provide a safe, welcoming and compassionate environment.
The manager and deputy manager are consummate professionals proving excellent at communicating with me throughout the stages of mum's alzheimers, keeping me fully informed through the various transitions with mum no longer able to communicate effectively or be mobile. The care staff treat mum with kindness and respect. The team are observant, quick to identify changes in health and manage appropriately with other health professionals. Mum has a limited diet but the catering staff understand exactly what she likes and provide for her well. I visit regularly at random times and the home itself is always clean, well maintained and comfortable. There is always something going on keeping residents active and engaged.

I am incredibly grateful for the attentive, high quality care the team provides every single day.

Overall Experience
My father who has quite advanced Dementia has been a resident here since April 2025, whilst resistent about moving there initially he quickly settled in to his bright and sunny room. The home is realtively small and intimate which means that the residents are never isolated and are always in company in the lounge. Like many homes of its kind the staff turn over has been quite high but the team are very caring and attentive. Health issues are always addressed quickly and efficiently and they chase GP practices when they are frequently slow to respond. They have also arranged transport for my Dad's hospital visits and sent a member of staff with him which is greatly appreciated.

In January of this year my Mum also became a resident and I really wsn't sure how she would deal with it but she has absolutely thrived. She has put on weight which was much needed, has made friends and of course is now back with my Dad. The only thing I wish they had is a family room for private get togethers.

Overall Experience

Both my mother and mother-in-law have been cared for by Furzeham Lodge and in both cases, the standard of care has been exemplary. The staff are well trained, very professional, extremely caring towards the residents and the team is ably led by the manager and his deputy. The residents' rooms and public areas are very comfortable, well decorated and kept spotlessly clean and you never encounter nasty odours when you enter the building. The food is excellent and there is a wide range of activities laid on to help keep the residents active and engaged.

Overall Experience
My mother was a resident at Furzeham Lodge for the last four months of her life. She had dementia, congestive heart failure and was infirm.
Her care was marvellous. We found that all the staff were knowledgeable about every last aspect of my mum's day to day welfare and there was a good staffing level such that there was always someone to help mum and always someone for us to consult. We found that there was always a range of activities on offer and a variety of food that my mum liked eating. My mum found the staff very likeable.
Medically, we found the staff to be very on the ball and pro-active and were noticing minor ailments that had escaped my own eye and were good at managing the larger medical conditions.

We feel very pleased to have found Furzeham Lodge and are very grateful to their staff for such consistently high levels of care.

Overall Experience

The home is clean and the staff are all very friendly. No matter what time of the day or evening we arrived, we were always made to feel welcome. All of the staff are very good with all of the residents- no matter what mood the resident was in at that time, and whoever was on duty always contacted us when there were problems or when the doctors had been called in. They were also very helpful in passing on the appropriate information and hints when my sister was being discharged home.

Overall Experience

My Mum has now been looked after by the all the staff at Furzeham Lodge for nearly 6 years. They have seen and helped Mum through her declining stages of dementia and forced immobility due to her illness. My sisters and I are so grateful to all the management and staff for the care, kindness and empathy that they have shown to Mum and us through her decline. It's difficult to describe in words how much this means and simply it just means everything to know that Mum is in kind, caring and supportive hands. I cannot recommend this home enough. It's down to each of the team and the amazing job they do.
