We booked a period of respite care for mum following a fall injury and a difficult period in a hospital at a considerable distance from her home. Managers at the Care Home were very patient with repeated delays with her hospital discharge which we greatly appreciated during an emotionally...
The Malthouse has a warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere both for service users and their visitors. We were immediately confident that mum would be comfortable and cared for with skill, professionalism and dignity. The Malthouse staff are, without exception in our experience, wonderful in their work. The skill sets, attributes, and humanity of those who care so beautifully for others are deserving of the respect and gratitude of us all.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. It has been a pleasure to welcome your mother here, particularly after such a traumatic time that she had sadly been through. We are very pleased it has been such a positive experience for both her and your family and thank you for your very kind words. I stayed in The Malthouse for respite care from 23rd April until May 7th. I think that the care and kindness I received throughout my stay was excellent. I was treated with respect and kindness by every member of staff and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good in spite of the fact that I came in at very short notice and have various food intolerances. This is the second time I have been here for respite care and I should not hesitate to come again. If it should be necessary for me to enter a care home permanently I shall certainly choose to be a resident at The Malthouse.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. We were very happy to welcome you back to us for a second time and are equally pleased you had such an enjoyable stay, we look forward to the next time! Your kind comments will be passed on to the team and on behalf of all of us here a big thank you.
After a difficult 3 weeks in hospital, (not helped by sleep disruption during the nights while other patients needs were attended to) the Malthouse gave me just the environment and support I needed to restore my confidence in living alone in a house. The kindness and care all the staff gave me...
My only problem, being a light sleeper and very tired by this time, was noise and lights during the night. Once the staff realised that I was having problems, they did their best to make it easier for me and I subsequently slept much better.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home, we are glad to have been able to support you when you needed the help. Your kind comments will be passed on to the team.
When I visit any staff who pop in mums face always lights up
All the staff will listen to any concerns & will find the answer if they don't know themselves.

We recently experienced excellent service from The Malthouse manager who dealt with a potentially upsetting issue where Mum was at a crossroads with her care and at risk of being moved into another care home. The Malthouse management were superb in negotiating with the head office and social services to come to an agreement whereby Mum could remain at The Malthouse (her home) with a fully funded package from social services. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your kind review - the manager is on holiday at the moment, but I will ensure she and the team hear your praise.
