An exceptional care home with wonderful staff and beautiful surroundings. Kind, considerate and always attentive. Really can't fault anyone.
The summer garden party was amazing. First-class food and entertainment. Thank you for everything you do. Well done to all.
The garden is delightful and well maintained with good views. They lift the spirit and restore feelings of well-being. The staff were both friendly and professional nothing was too much trouble night and day. We will certainly use the respite facility again when we need to, in order to give our wonderful family relief from our care of us, as a couple and not separated, for more than they have to be. Very satisfied.
We looked at other care homes and chose this for its closeness to our Sherbourne home its position and convenience and availability and reputation. All there were excellent. The staff were caring competent and interesting. We had no hesitation in deciding to use the home again to meet our coming needs. So au revoir to The Old Vicarage Care Home and thanks.
Very good care and attention given throughout my stay. A very good stay, mixing with other residents during the day.
Thank you for your feedback, we hope you join us again in the future.
My mother-in-law arrived at The Old Vicarage Care Home in June, when the garden and roses were beautiful, a week before her 101st birthday, after spending five weeks in hospital following a fall. She had lost weight and could hardly walk. The care she receives is amazing. She's been encouraged to pursue her hobbies, knitting, painting and playing the piano. She has regained her appetite, enjoys her meals, especially the cooked breakfast and Sunday roasts. The staff are wonderful, kind, caring, professional, always makes you feel welcome when visint.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It has been our pleasure taking care of her.
It has taken a few months for my husband to settle in at the old vicarage. He has had a lot of encouragement from care staff to join activities and mix with other residents. It's a shame that several of the care staff are not permanent. Regular agency staff are always cheerful, kind and considerate.
I have been a resident for four months overall the care is very good although it does alter a bit from day to day as staff can change daily, but the care for your well-being is very good. Would like better hot tea. There are lots of activities and games to entertain us and keep our minds active and exercises to keep the old body moving. We are kept well entertained and loved.
Thank you for your review, feedback is very important for us to improve, I will aim to make your experience and stay with us better.
The care home has been excellent. The girls have been very helpful and happy and the chef has made excellent meals. The garden surrounding the house is lovely to look at from all around. The roses are excellent.
Thank you for your lovely comments, we are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. It was a pleasure having you join us and will happily have you stay with us in the future.
I found the informality and friendly staff were very good and I felt relaxed in this atmosphere. The surroundings are lovely and would be hard to beat. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff and they were willing to help me in any way I asked. My friends and relatives who visited me were very well received and made very welcome.
Thank you for the wonderful comments, you were a pleasure to have to stay with us and we all look forward to you coming for another stay with us.
The receptionist is lovely too.
Mum would like more variety with the food offered, please.
Mum always looks clean and well-presented, with a lovely hairdo.
It was great.
Great.
My parents have been resident for two years now and are always complimentary about the care they get from all the staff.
Great visit to see my grandparents in lovely clean room, with refreshments from friendly staff and warm welcome at professional reception.
My mum seems happy and well cared for and the staff are really nice. Mum really likes her room and enjoys looking out at the garden, which is very well maintained and very colourful at this time of year.
Re food - a bit more variety of fruit and veg would be good.
Re cleanliness - the room is kept nice and clean overall but the carpet does need a shampoo.
Since Mum was admitted in April for respite, she made the decision to stay as a resident. She enjoys being here. Perfect home for Mum as she enjoys countryside gardens.
Care, attention to detail, observation of condition all excellent. Food excellent.
Some essentials do need upgrading, in particular, bathing/shower facilities for my wife (this is an impression, not a fact!).
In general, it has been a tough time for the carers. Lockdown restrictions and a senior management change have been very noticeable with regard to interaction and attention to detail. The vast majority of staff are very friendly and caring, and most of all, fun. The atmosphere is relaxed but professional. Dad has settled in and, I believe, now is enjoying his new home.
Friendly and caring staff. Stayed for a few days and it was a pleasant enough experience. The only small negative is that the home needs some modernisation. The food was good and so was the choice.

Meet the Team (3)

What I enjoy the most about my job is meeting new people who come to live with us and their families. It's all about making sure they feel part of our community, having a natter, and really listening to what they want and need. I make sure everyone gets a say in how things are run here, keep everyone in the loop about any changes, and always have a kettle on for visitors.

``I decided to work at The Old Vicarage as I live locally and the hours fitted with my children at the time, and that was in 2007. I don’t have a particular favourite time of day. I like it when the morning is over, knowing residents have been attended to and had their needs met.``

``We have a great team and beautiful grounds at The Old Vicarage.``
