The Old Vicarage Care Home is located in a scenic part of the Dorset countryside and offers a combination of friendliness and professionalism in order to help adults with care needs to enjoy a comfortable and stimulating lifestyle.

While being ideal for long-term residential needs, the home also maintains a respite service and offers day care to the surrounding communities. Carers are committed to understanding personal needs and adhering to a tailored approach.

A number of activities are organised to support personal interests and physical health, and residents have access to information technology while enjoying home-cooked meals.

The temporary garden cabin-style structure is equipped with two entrance points, a Perspex screen to separate visitors from residents and an intercom to make communicating easy. The room is also equipped with heating, insulation, fire safety measures and nurse call buttons. To book a visit in the pod, please contact the home manager.

The Old Vicarage is a delightful Home in the depths of the countryside. The residents are all very happy and very keen to tell you what a lovely home they have. The staff are clearly very caring and professional in their approach. There are a great variety of activities which appear very popular.
This
is a well run and happy home. I would strongly recommend it.

After a period of adjustment after the deaths of the owners, the home is now settled under the care of new management. I detect the same caring attitude among staff that was so evident during the previous owners time at the helm. As far as spiritual matters are concerned, I am pleased that the monthly
communion services are continuing, as are the links with the local parish church. I consider it vital that these continue.

The Old Vicarage gave my mother four years of quality life. She was always happy here and was very well cared for despite her tendency to be extremely demanding at times! Despite the change of ownership since her time, I have no doubt that the remaining staff will continue with their excellent approach
to all their responsibilities.

I have visited the care home on a number of times to attend the coffee morning and events. I commend the amazing management and staff for the incredible work that they all do - they are all so welcoming and it’s heartwarming to see a community come together for coffee mornings and charity events that
often take place at the home. Having been shown around the care home by the manager, I have seen what The Old Vicarage has to offer, it has such a great atmosphere, is very clean and the staff are very thorough with great attention to detail. The Old Vicarage is an integral asset to the local community and it’s all thanks to the great management and staff who have worked throughout recent hardship and ensured they follow through with the home’s ethos.

It is difficult to be subjective at this time as there has been a monumental change, in that there has been an almost total change of staff due to the death of both owners.
It will take some time (a lot) for the ethos of the organisation to be understood or even apparent. There are signs that it will
be, only time will tell.

I live in Chetnole which is the next village to Leigh where the Old Vicarage Care home is situated.
Due to my age, I have had cause to visit several care homes in the area to visit old friends and relations.
I have been very impressed with the cleanliness, friendliness and general running of the Old

All the staff are helpful and friendly. The interaction between the staff and my father has been wonderful, very supportive. I never go home after visiting worried about his welfare and have complete confidence that they will care for him to the best of their ability.

The staff are always bright and have time for the residents. No matter how busy they are, the home is clean, bright and a happy place to be in, with lovely gardens and extensive views across the Dorset countryside. It really is a happy home.

Mum's key worker phoned us before our visit to make us aware of a small deterioration in her memory and that Mum may not recognise us. She also asked us to leave feedback on how we thought Mum was. Happily, Mum did recognise us, so our feedback was positive. It is this attention to detail and keeping
relatives informed that makes The Old Vicarage Care Home such a marvellous place.


We cannot visit as often as we'd like but knowing mum is in such a caring and lovely place is a great comfort to us.

The staff have a very caring attitude, always willing to help and be cheerful. You give quality care and maintain clean premises.
It is a wonderful setting with lovely rooms and garden and views. Best care home in the region. My mother is very content.

My mother was treated with the greatest respect and kindness. She was made to feel nothing was too much trouble. The staff are extremely approachable and always keeping a watch out for the residents. I cannot praise this establishment highly enough.

My father came into The Old Vicarage with emergency respite needs. He has since become a full-time resident. Our family was very impressed with the way the initial contact and admission was made, we have found the management to be approachable and open and the staff to provide a very good level of care.
Dad's personal needs, both physically and mentally/emotionally have been assessed and met. As someone used to working in medium-sized organisations, I am impressed by the balance between necessary systems and checks and personal, friendly and supportive responses to individual needs. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the environment well-kept and interesting and there are plenty of activities for residents. I most appreciate the way that The Old Vicarage has worked hard to meets Dad's need for order and understanding, and the sense of partnership that has been created between management, staff, Dad, family and statutory services (especially doctor).

My Mum has lived in The Old Vicarage Care Home for over a year now. She is happy and well settled and the staff are extremely caring and go out of their way to fulfil the personal requirements of every resident. They make time to chat to them, take them for walks in the garden
and even have the odd
joke. When Mum has been unwell or upset I have visited her room and found a member of staff sat with her on the bed, holding her hand and comforting her. The management team are extremely efficient and very approachable.
The food is excellent and the presentation of both food and tables is always excellent. Specific dietary requests are always catered for and the home will even cater for relatives if they are visiting and pre-book.
The events manager organises events every weekday morning, including regular visits to interesting places. Singing features frequently in the events calendar and is very popular amongst the residents.
I would not want my Mum to be anywhere else.

When my mother was mobile she really enjoyed the activities, company and quality of the food at The Old Vicarage. Now that she is no longer mobile I can see that she is usually smiling, even though her sight and hearing have diminished. Carers are very attentive and regularly check on her well-being.

My mother has been at The Old Vicarage for 5 years now. She has vascular dementia and all the memory and cognitive problems associated with the condition. The Old Vicarage has provided her with a stable environment, caring and compassionate staff, plenty of entertainment and overall, excellent care.
Most important to her, she has her dog with her as The Old Vicarage is pet-friendly.

My uncle has received excellent care, the staff are friendly and welcoming, whenever I visit people are always popping into his room with small tasks to do. The food is well presented and appetising. I have and would recommend this care home.

My Grandmother moved to The Old Vicarage recently due to struggling at home and loneliness. Since being at The Old Vicarage she has gone from strength to strength, she is enjoying living again due to the hard work and dedication of all the staff. The staff have got to know her and are aware of what
she likes and doesn't like and they have worked with this, providing the care and stimulation that she wants. My Grandmother is respected and is cared for in a caring and dignified manner, she has complex care needs and this is addressed accordingly and in a way in which my Grandmother is happy with. The family are thrilled with the service that is provided at The Old Vicarage, we feel really rest assured that our loved one is happy and cared for.

What I enjoy the most about my job is meeting new people who come to live with us and their families.
