Branksome Heights stepped up quickly to provide urgently needed respite care for my 98-year old father following a series of falls at home. He settled there quickly and is now staying on. The facilities are light and modern, with pleasant sitting areas and dining room. The individual bedrooms are also agreeable and spacious, with a very practical bathroom and access to a small outside patio. The staff have an excellent manner and have taken very good care of my father, enabling his condition to stabilise after a period of decline at home.

My only criticism would concern the food, with too few healthy eating options and especially very little fresh fruit or vegetables. It is, however, excellent that relatives and friends can join residents for lunch or tea in the dining room.

Reply from Branksome Manager, Home Manager at Branksome Heights Nursing Home
Dear Julian
Thank you for your kind comments. I am sorry that you have experienced some issues regarding fresh produce. We very rarely use frozen vegetables as we prefer to cook from fresh. We have fresh fruit available at all times and healthy options are available for all meals. We will make this clearer on our menus from now on.

Thank you for your comments.

The facilities and feel of Branksome Heights are amazing and the staff are very attentive. We move my mother-in-law to Branksome Heights from Coventry so a big move. We cannot overplay how relieved we are to have found this home. The manager and all her staff have been incredible, letting my mother-in-law settle into her new home for the rest of her life.

I have been looking after all my mum's affairs including the sale of her house and finding a care home. We have moved mum to Branksome Heights on a permanent basis and I cannot express my relief at the choice we've made. The facility itself is modern and bright but most importantly, the staff are fantastic. Mum is very content with her move.

I find this home a wonderful place to live in. I have made a new life here. I am a new man now.l the captain of this ship has steered me from turbulent waters to heavenly waters. If I had a million pounds I would, without hesitation, donate half of it to this home, although it does not need any further improvements. I would recommend this home to anyone in need of care in the world compared to other homes.

The captain is fully responsible for this and needs utmost commendation and should be considered for higher promotion.

I visited my Aunty last week and was extremely impressed with everything about Branksome Heights. My Aunty has been in the home since August and was now in end of life care. On arrival, I was welcomed by reception and then escorted to my Aunty's room and offered a drink. I found the staff to be very happy and helpful. The home was spotless throughout and has a lovely welcoming feel to it. On my second visit, I was made to feel very welcome and was offered lunch which was delicious.
I can’t thank the staff enough for looking after my Aunty with such care and thoughtfulness.

I would highly recommend Bransome Heights.

Overall Experience
In August 2018 my mother moved into Branksome Heights and I have been so impressed and delighted by the attitude, dedication, friendliness and care provided by staff members in all roles. Family and friends who visited my mother all said what a lovely care home it is and I feel we were very lucky to find Branksome Heights.
As my mother's condition worsened care stepped-up to accommodate her. Everything she needed was made available from their excellent facilities and I was fully informed regarding the best care for my mother who was always treated with kindness and dignity right up to and including the end of her life.

The care and wellbeing of their residents is clearly paramount to all staff a Branksome Heights and the gentle, inclusive family atmosphere was extended not just to my mother but to us, her family, nothing was too much trouble. My only regret is that due to her failing health my mother was unable to fully participate in the many stimulating activities provided.

My grandma spent her last months here and it was so lovely. They treated her as if she were their own family. All the staff were so lovely and saw them treating all the residents with such care and love. All respected and treated with dignity. Was such a lovely place to come and visit my grandma and she loves all the staff as they do her.

We were blessed to have such a wonderful place for her to live her final months. All staff made us feel very welcome too.

Well done Uncle and Auntie for finding such a lovely place! We will miss visiting her there, but obviously not as much as we will miss my grandmother.

This facility is remarkable. Their willingness to ensure my cousin's safety and comfort was 10-fold! They accommodated our large family group with some of us from the States. Our cousin went to the Lord a few days ago and she went peacefully. This is largely due to the facility and family by her side. We applaud you! I am forever thankful.

Overall Experience

The staff at Branksome Heights are the best one could possibly hope for when it came to the care of my Mother. The staff, each and every one of them, is just full of care and love for all of their residents and was absolutely wonderful to witness.

They welcomed me to stay for a few nights within the care home once my Mother was at ‘end of life’ stage. As this lasted a couple of weeks, each time I left to go home, I left with the reassurance, comfort and confidence that my dear Mum would be looked after to the very best standard of care and love.

They invite you to stay for meals at no cost, they cater for all dietary needs. They have private dining rooms on each floor for family and friends gatherings. They simply are the most splendid care home you could ever find for your loved one.

Thank you to every one of your lovely team of staff.

I came to visit my grandfather on Saturday 1st December and the residents were enjoying watching a Christmas sing-song.
All the staff were joining in and the atmosphere was amazing.
The residents were all having a lovely time and it was so lovely to see. The lady who was singing had everyone clapping and singing along with her.
I was particularly impressed with one member of staff, what a lovely way she has with the residents.

Well done Branksome Heights - keep up the good work!

Joining the dedicated team at Branksome Heights is a great opportunity for me, especially at this special time having newly received their Nursing Accreditation. I bring with me 37 years of nursing experience, the last 18 of which have been in the Nursing Home sector, with the last 10 years as Clinical Lead. I have previously worked as a Ward Sister in a local Private Hospital in Women’s Health and as a Breast Care Advisor, helping patients from diagnosis to follow up.

I am very happy to have joined such a fantastic team as Clinical Lead of Nursing, and look forward to developing this new, and extremely valuable additional level of care to the home to compliment the already successful Dementia and Residential care.

I was delighted to join the team at Branksome Heights in July 2023 following studies for my Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity.

Whilst studying, I worked as an Administrator at the bank with the NHS. Everyone at Branksome Heights has been so welcoming and supportive, including the lovely residents. I started working in Hospitality/Reception and was delighted to be promoted to the role of Home Administrator. The Home is very beautiful with a warm, friendly atmosphere and a special place to work. I am married with one small son, and in fact, my husband also works here at Branksome Heights as a Senior Night Support Worker. We both really enjoy working for Kingsley Healthcare, and our work fits in so well with our family time, too.

I have worked in administration for many years and in a variety of roles. I particularly love the Care Home environment and feel right at home here at Branksome Heights, helping to create a warm, friendly welcome to the home. I enjoy meeting new people and building relationships with residents, families and staff.

Branksome Heights is only a short walk from my home and is in such a lovely area, surrounded as it is by woods, parks and close to the sea. It is a joy to see residents’ families coming along to take their loved ones for local trips out and for walks to Coy Pond and through the Chinese to the seafront. I enjoy being creative and love producing menu designs, writing our newsletters, and sometimes the occasional poem
