My mother in law spent the last four months of her life at Queensbridge. She was looked after with care and compassion and treated with dignity. She had been suffering with dementia for several years and her last few months at Queensbridge were her happiest for a number of years, due to the care she
received. When she unexpectedly became very ill and needed end of life care, the staff were fantastic. I would have no hesitation in recommending Queensbridge.

My mother has been in Queensbridge House for two years and has experienced excellent support and care. She is very happy living there and feels safe and secure. The staff are professional as well as friendly when providing help and comfort.

I have only been to Queensbridge for two short stays for respite care; three days in May and three days in November 2021. I found the staff pleasant, caring and helpful. The food was a little dull but the room was comfortable. On the whole, my visits were satisfactory.

My dad moved to Queensbridge in August 2019. I think my overall experience is summed up in a comment from a member of staff who said after Dad had been there for about 6 weeks that he was settling and really learning to trust the staff. This exemplifies the very person-centred and caring approach. The
home really does feel like a home. The staff are fantastic, my dad is very happy and so am I.

I've always been very happy with the standard of care provided by the home but was impressed with the extra care provided when my mother became poorly, including calling an ambulance when they were concerned, cleaning Mum's bed and clothes when they were messy and ensuring her personal care needs were
met.

My mum has been at Queensbridge for 18 months now and I am so very pleased with the care that she received. It's not just the efficiency and standard of care that is good, it is much more than that. The manager and the staff really care about the residents. They take the time to talk to the residents,
dress them nicely and notice when something is wrong. It is the caring attitude of the staff which shines out and makes Queensbridge an outstanding home.

My aunty became a resident of the home just over a year ago, at short notice, when it became apparent that she could no longer look after herself due to dementia and severe anxiety issues. The home moved her into a room where she felt safe, and she has settled in, and now looks so much better and happier
than she did a year ago. It is good to know that she is now safe, warm, well-fed and well cared for. Queensbridge is not a modern hotel like home. But there is a nice 'comfortable' and warm feel at Queensbridge which makes it feel like home, and I can't praise ALL the staff highly enough. They are always friendly and helpful, and very caring and respectful to my aunty - they demonstrate an interest in her, making her seem part of a family (this positive and happy attitude was very evident at the fete held at the home earlier this year). Unfortunately, I can't visit very often, but I'm kept informed of anything I need to know concerning my aunty.
Very happy that she is at Queensbridge.

My relative has been a resident at Queensbridge for several years now. During this time she has made some strong relationships with some of the care staff and is happier in mind, body and spirit here than when she was living on her own. It is easy for me as principle relative of contact to contact the
care home. It is likely that I will know the person who answers the phone and a number of those who care who look after my relative. My relative has also had both dental and medical treatment recently which has been overseen by the care home manager and news has been communicated effectively and timely to me. So I feel confident of keeping up to date on my relatives health. Although my relative doesn't join in many of the activities organised by the care home, the care staff do organise a regular outing of her choice. This month my relative had a rare treat outing for the whole day and care staff were ready with her. From time to time new fixtures such as TV and phone have been fitted, promptly, efficiently and courteously.

We got a really good feel for the home on our initial visit and received an extremely warm welcome from the staff. It had a great atmosphere on arrival, with lots going on and a music singer/guitar session in full swing, which Mum loved. We were told the home was a bit chaotic at times, but this is
exactly what we wanted. It felt like an extended family there, with lots of smiles/happy faces. This made Mum feel comfortable and made the extremely difficult decision to mover her into full-time care, a much easier process. We were kept up to date through every stage of the move and given some excellent advice. The care my mother receives is fantastic, with every person doing an extremely good job - especially one particular carer who provides mum's daycare. We love visiting and everyone now knows 'Buddy' who is Mums dog, who pops in with us for regular visits. I know it will be a long process completely settling Mum in but she's very happy there and made lots of friends, with Queensbridge providing the care, safety and support she needed.

My next of kin was sent to Queensbridge House for a period of respite earlier this year.
She was anxious and apprehensive because it was her first experience of residential care.
Very quickly she realised that she had nothing to worry about.
She would have been happy to make it her permanent home.
The
home is clean, safe and welcoming.
The menus looked appetising and my friend enjoyed her meals.
She said that the portion size was just right.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
They are friendly but respectful and they don't wear a uniform which adds to the homely feel.
As a visitor, I found the staff approachable and felt welcome at all times.
Although my friend did not have dementia, she felt happy and comfortable at Queensbridge House as there was always plenty of staff around for her to talk with.

I am very grateful to Queensbridge staff who have always looked after my mother with great care and shown genuine affection towards her. Throughout the four and a half years that she has been there, she has always been treated with dignity and respect, and she has been very well looked after. The
staff are kind, caring and professional, and the home is well managed. Staff often seem to stay for a long time, which suggests that there is a good working environment with good working relationships. The home provides many activities to stimulate the interest of the residents. The home is very clean and furnishings are bright and cheerful, and upgraded when required. Overall I am very happy with the care provided at Queensbridge. The only minor issue is that I wish that the home would go ahead with its plan to build a bigger dayroom, with easier access to the garden. This would benefit both residents and staff.

My mother has resided at Queensbridge since December 2016 and we are very happy with the care she receives there, the staff are exemplary and she is well looked after and safe. When Mum first went to Queensbridge she was in a room upstairs at the front which was very bright and airy and ideal for her
as she has very poor eyesight, recently she has had to be moved downstairs to another room as there were concerns for her safety negotiating the stairs ( and her reluctance to use the lift ) and her new room has large windows/doors overlooking the garden and she seems very happy with it.
All of the staff are cheerful and helpful and always ready to answer any questions we may have relating to Mum's care, myself and my brothers are extremely happy with our choice to make Queensbridge the place where Mum now lives.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
