My nan has recently moved into Burnworthy. She was reluctant to give up her home but everyone has been so welcoming and kind. She instantly feels at home. As a family, when we visit, we are also made to feel very welcome. The staff genuinely seem to care and go that extra mile.

My mum is being well looked after by all the staff, who are always friendly and very caring. On walking into the home, you feel like it is a home and not a hospital, as other care homes can feel like. It is bright and cheerful and I am so pleased my mum is there.

Everyone is so helpful, friendly, nothing is ever too much trouble. My mum is so well looked after. So grateful we got her here, home from home. Came up when she got there. Always clean and tidy, Mum is, although I know she says she wants to go home, that's where she was with her parents. Just like
to say thanks, everyone!

There is a friendly, caring atmosphere in the home. When the home was closed due to covid, it was great that residents could still see their families in the pod. I know from personal experience, not all care homes made this possible. The garden and front of the home look colourful thanks to the efforts
of the staff. The front paved area is ideal for sitting on to catch the morning sun and people watch.

I have been delighted with the care and consideration my nana has received at Burnworthy House. I always appreciate how willing the staff ate to spend time with the residents and not rush off to the next job. It is an encouraging environment to be in with lots of energy and genuinely caring staff.

It provides great comfort to the family knowing that nana is being so well cared for. The accommodation at Burnsworthy House with the outlook and gardens provides a lovely environment. Nana always compliments the food and how nice the staff are. I have always found them personally to be polite, caring,
compassionate and fun, this is a real positive as nana loves to laugh. I would recommend it to another family looking for similar accommodation for their loved one.

Apart from the comfort of knowing my mum is well looked after in a clean, friendly and professional home. I like the way all staff have the time to spend a few moments chatting with my mum. That personal, caring touch with the time to do it is greatly valued.

I was a bit worried about going into a home. My fears were unfounded, I wish I had come sooner. My care is excellent and my carers are lovely. I am fed well and kept spotlessly clean. My mental and wellbeing is being looked after to the highest degree. I could not wish for anything better.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.882)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.882) out of 10 for Burnworthy House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.882 for Burnworthy House is calculated as follows: ( (213 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 238 Ratings = 4.882
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Burnworthy House is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 37 registered maximum number of service users is 7.4, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Alison Tiltman

Job Title: Registered Manager

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Alison, and I am proud to be the manager of Burnworthy House.

My passion for care services started from an early age, as I was introduced to this career path by my late mother who worked in a residential care home all her working life and installed the benchmark I aim to work to – “would I accept this for my family?”.

I started my own career path in care in 1996 as a domiciliary care worker, and for the last 26 years I have worked various roles covering the many different aspect of care. These have included being a care coordinator, trainer, risk assessor, quality supervisor, deputy, and interim manager.

I hold an NVQ level 3 in health and social care, NVQ Level 5 in leadership for health and social care and several other qualifications including a trainer the trainer in moving and handling.

When not working I enjoy reading, going to aqua aerobics, spending time with my family including my dog (Max) and eating cake.

I look forward to meeting you and working together to make new moments and memories with you and your loved ones.
