Grovelands is a modern and purpose-built care home, offering a versatile lifestyle and professional care.

The dedicated dementia suite supports independence, with staff who are expertly trained in supporting adults who live with dementia. Daily activities and regular outings are organised by dedicated activities coordinators.

Ongoing training and investment keeps standards high. Other facilities include a hair salon and shop. Meals are prepared daily by the on-site kitchen team, offering a nutritious and varied diet.

In 2018, Grovelands was rated 'Outstanding' by CQC, which puts them in the 1.4% of adult social care providers nationally to receive this rating. The Grovelands team were announced as winners of the Outstanding Care Team award at the Somerset Care Group Awards 2017, and won the Outstanding Care Team Award at the Care Focus Awards (April 2017).

I am well looked after, well-fed and there is a nice standard of cleanliness, hygiene and good support in the home. The staff are friendly and approachable and check on me frequently, showing care and concern.

On first entering this home I was impressed. I was met by a member of staff and shown to my room, which was bright and airy and well-decorated. After settling in I was taken to the dining room to join them for lunch which was excellent with very good choices. Throughout my respite stay, I was always
included at all times. I was permitted to use my mobility scooter and was encouraged to do so. The quality and selection of food at meal times were exceptional.
The staff, from the manager down, were always ready to give advice or assistance where needed. It was in my mind one big family which I enjoyed.
Activities were available every day on a variety of issues even down to a walking group.
At a reasonable time in the evening, the night staff would make themselves known and always looked into my room during the night hours which was very assuring. It boasts a very welcoming garden when conditions allow with plenty of seating.
If I needed a care home in the future I would choose Grovelands.

I have been so impressed by the care given to my husband by all members of staff at Grovelands. The home is clean, bright and welcoming and the staff are exceptionally bright and professional and have made the most difficult decision of having to put my husband into care, as easy as possible for both
of us. I visit frequently and at no notice and he is always clean and comfortable. I would have no hesitation in recommending Grovelands to anyone looking for really good care.

I have no complaints whatsoever about Grovelands Residential Home after almost a year of experience. Life during lockdown was understandably difficult at times but well managed. Now the situation has eased, I can see that residents are able to engage in a greater variety of activities, especially outings.
A meeting with the manager and staff was recently held. It was so useful to learn about their particular interests and roles. It was very obvious that the staff know the residents well and were very caring. I am very happy that we chose Grovelands for our friend.

We as a family can't speak highly enough of our experience of Grovelands since our mum moved in four weeks ago. From our very first call and initial visit to the care home, Grovelands set our minds at ease and made what could have been a very distressing situation into a supported and peaceful transition
for our mother and us. The staff have accommodated all of Mum's needs and especially welcomed her little dog into the home to live with her. Mum is thriving and more peaceful than she has been since she lost her husband two years ago and we know this is due to the love, support and care that Grovelands offer. Along with the social aspect, activities, healthy food and brilliant surroundings that she now lives in, we feel confident that we have found the perfect home for her. We are forever grateful to the managers and staff of Grovelands for all they have done and continue to do to make Mum's new life phase comfortable, fulfilling and fun. We can relax knowing she is safe and happy and getting all her needs met.

My dad moved into the Petals wing of Grovelands in June 2021. He settled in quickly which is largely due to the care of the wonderful staff who always take the time to talk with him and understand his needs. I feel that I am kept updated and also feel that I can ring at any time to discuss any concerns
that I may have.
Dad enjoys the many activities which are organised and I am particularly grateful that the staff ensure that he gets regular exercise in the garden. He often tells me that the food is great and how lovely the staff are. I know that he feels safe there and I am so grateful to everyone at Grovelands for this.

As a family, we are extremely happy and content with Grovelands in Yeovil. The level of care, attention and respect given to our aunt is superb. The range of activities is excellent, the daily menus are full of high-quality ingredients and a great range of choices.
The garden is delightful, allowing
a sense of her own garden to sit in and enjoy the sunshine flowers and company.
All of these things give our aunt a great quality of life while maintaining a sense of independence. The bedrooms with en-suite are large and roomy as are the communal rooms - the decor is modern with aspects of tradition.
We know our aunt is safe, happy, well-fed and has activities which mean our visits or taking her out for the day is quality time.
The care put in place for Covid for residents and relatives was well thought out and done with compassion so no one felt detached from family. The staff are all friendly, happy, compassionate, knowledgeable and caring in all departments. We fully recommend Grovelands.

My mum had a fall in October 2021 and unfortunately fractured her hip. I was not allowed to be with her due to the Covid virus. I cannot thank the carers enough for looking after her and comforting her through her ordeal. Mum has been a resident for 2-years now, and the home is absolutely fantastic.
I cannot speak highly enough of everybody involved in her care. I would recommend the home to anybody.

I feel my mum was cared for in a compassionate manner. When her health deteriorated, everything was tried and put in place to help her. All staff were amazing, and there were regular communications.

My father has been in Grovelands for the last two years and we as a family are very pleased with the care he receives. The staff who deal with Dad's needs are extremely kind and courteous to him at all times. His health has remained good and consistent and we feel this is down to the staff who administer
his medication including twice-daily eye drops. Also, we feel the staff go that extra mile with things they know he enjoys (porridge and honey for breakfast and nightly hot chocolate). Thank you Grovelands.

My father chose to go into care when he could no longer manage in his own home. He was delighted with everything about Grovelands and enjoyed walking in the garden, attending the activities, the sociable mealtimes when he ate with a small group of other men, and the morning and afternoon drinks and
snacks. He was treated at all times with respect and I felt he was able to keep his dignity and independence to a remarkable extent. I will always be grateful to all the staff, both night staff and day staff, for making Dad's last days such happy ones.

Our father moved from living independently in his own home into Grovelands in September 2021. He found the care and attitude of the staff exemplary, and quickly enjoyed the mix of activities and other residents. He found his room comfortable and spacious and enjoyed the food. The many family visitors
found the staff friendly and welcoming, and we had all our questions answered efficiently and quickly. He passed away early in December and as he had hoped this was at Grovelands. We were all enormously impressed with how compassionate and flexible the staff were during the last week, particularly, looking after him so well and enabling so many of the family to sit with him for extended periods. All the staff were incredibly kind and thoughtful and helped make a sad period as easy as possible. We are all very thankful to them.

My father moved into Grovelands in mid-September. He was made to feel very welcome and settled in quickly, enjoying the activity sessions, the food and the company of the other residents and staff. His room was comfortable and the whole home was very suitable for older people, with level floors, handrails
everywhere, good lighting etc. As a family we found the staff extremely helpful, responding quickly to any queries, keeping us fully informed and really going above and beyond our expectations. Dad had a very happy few weeks at Grovelands before suddenly falling seriously ill in late November, we were extremely grateful that the Grovelands staff were willing to continue looking after him as we all felt Grovelands was now his home and did not want to move him. When he passed away the staff could not have been kinder and were clearly very sad themselves, in that short time we really felt they had got to know and love Dad and to respect his deep Christian faith. Thank you.

My mother entered the Petals wing of Grovelands over two months ago and has received the best of care. Her room is a good size and kept spotlessly clean. The staff are all very friendly and care for Mum with compassion and sensitivity, sometimes putting little extras in her room to brighten her day.
The home also keeps in close touch with me, advising promptly of any needs or issues.

Extremely positive experience after a move from another care home for my Mother. She was cleaned up, hair cut and whiskers removed and returned to being the Mother I knew within a few days of the move.

Mum has been a resident of Grovelands since February 2017, initially on the Residential side and moved across to Petals in August 2019. She has received wonderful care throughout and all her needs have been met as her dementia progressed. The staff have shown great interest in understanding mum and
have taken the time right from the start to get to know her. They have been a wonderful support to me and have always listened and taken action to any suggestions or concerns I have had. Mum's clothes are laundered well and there is always something on the menu that she enjoys. Throughout this COVID year, I couldn't fault the communication and care provided during such a challenging time.

Dad has been in Grovelands since December 2019. The family cannot fault the level of care he has received even under the most difficult of circumstances over the past year. We have always been contacted immediately if there have been any concerns over his health and well-being. The staff are professional,

Grovelands has demonstrated exemplary care throughout the covid pandemic keeping its residents safe and well throughout providing access to relatives through skype sessions and (when allowed) visits in a specially adapted reception room. My mum has always exhibited contentment and obvious affection
for her carers. I feel she is being very well looked after.

I have worked at Grovelands since 2007 and feel a strong sense of pride in the outstanding reputation of the home and the dedicated staff team who are committed to caring for our residents. It is greatly important to me to support people to make our home their home, with photos and furnishings to truly personalise their environment. It is also important to support and encourage residents to maintain their interests and be introduced to new adventures and make new friends!


When residents choose to live at Grovelands I feel it is the beginning of a new chapter and journey in their lives, and my aim is to make this the happiest time possible and ensure that meaningful regular contact with their family and old friends is a priority.
I believe strongly in paying attention to detail and empowering staff to provide the best standard of residential and PETALS dementia care with compassion and dignity.


Visitors always comment on our incredibly friendly staff, the warm welcome they receive and the homely atmosphere. I am proud that residents and their families speak so highly of Grovelands and recommend us to their friends. I welcome feedback to enable changes and continual improvements to be made with the service.
