Grovelands is a modern and purpose-built care home, offering a versatile lifestyle and professional care.

The dedicated dementia suite supports independence, with staff who are expertly trained in supporting adults who live with dementia. Daily activities and regular outings are organised by dedicated activities coordinators.

Ongoing training and investment keeps standards high. Other facilities include a hair salon and shop. Meals are prepared daily by the on-site kitchen team, offering a nutritious and varied diet.

Mum had to move into care at the beginning of lockdown 2020, luckily my husband and I had previously seen the home. On her day of arrival, she had to be left at the door and sadly as of yet, we have not been able to go, into the home to see her. We have put all of our trust into staff. Who myself and
sisters talk to often. They are brilliant at keeping me informed with Mum's medication needs and any health issues. Staff are always so genuinely interested, in Mum's past interests and life, to ensure they keep her content. I’ve often phoned to speak to her and can hear the smile in her voice, or she will be busy dancing or singing. All of the staff have been wonderful, for the past year they have become my Mum’s extended family, giving her the love and care we are unable to, at the moment. Each and every one of the staff are, Angels in disguise.

The care that is provided to my mother and all other residents is exemplary. The staff are amazing, they work tirelessly to maintain the well-being of all the residents. We are all so thrilled that mum was able to live there.

Accommodation is comfortable and my room is good size, so is bathroom. Could do with slightly bigger wardrobe as have to sort clothes out regularly and send to charity shops items I won't wear. The staff running all the various activities are cheerful and helpful and in general, I am quite happy living
here and am well looked after.

I came here in Feb 2020 from hospital in a quite weak condition. I was immediately looked after by the management and staff and felt I had joined a very good and caring family of people. The carers and other staff are so patient and kindly that I was soon able to recover from my illness and am now (I
hope) an active and contented member of the wonderful Grovelands family. God Bless them all at this difficult time.

My mother was at Grovelands for 4 ½ months from Autumn 2019 in dedicated dementia care. Visited daily due to shortcomings. Don't be swept away by CQC rating of 'Outstanding'—old from Nov. 2017 and may not reflect how things are now. Rooms good size with ensuites. Beds average. No contact with the home
manager and he refused to meet when I asked—unacceptable. Deputy manager not always at Grovelands spent time away elsewhere. No progress or review meetings. My mother's clothes would disappear and she was often found wearing those of others. Her glasses were lost for many days and residents often wore others’ glasses. Little individual assistance at supper with great variance in how supper was served. Over-stretched staffing. Too much open-door policy to residents' rooms, so personal items went missing. Staff not always able to adequately supervise residents' inappropriate behaviour towards other residents.


Research and think carefully before deciding that this is the right place for your loved one.

Beautiful care home, that always delivers person centred care. I recently got married, mum turned up looking beautiful with her hair make up and nails all done perfectly by a wonderful care assistant. Although this is not unusual, Grovelands regularly treat the clients to a hairdo or nail paint. The
home always puts 100% effort into everything they do. I know that whilst mum is in the care of the staff and management at Grovelands I do not need to worry. Thank you for everything you do for our beautiful mum.

I was in Grovelands for respite care following a hip replacement operation (2 weeks). I was very well cared for and nothing was too much trouble for all the staff from management to carers, who were wonderful.

We are extremely happy with the care my father receives. Dad has a good quality of life. He is supported by wonderful staff who encourage him to lead a full and positive life. Everyone at Grovelands are approachable and pro-active and we could not wish for a more wonderful and caring home for Dad.

We chose Grovelands for Mum based on its 'outstanding' CQC rating and an exploratory visit. Mum moved there in autumn 2018 and to date, our expectations of her care have been met and exceeded. Following her stroke, Mum had become introspective and often morose. She has blossomed in the enabling environment
of Grovelands and regained her sense of humour along the way. The culture there emanates from the top and is embraced by the whole team, the managers engaging fully with the care of residents and with staff. The focus is on responding to the needs of the individual, maximising their potential by working with their own interests and hobbies - even those from long ago. Prior to her stroke Mum had been a keen walker. As she's no longer able to walk far, the team arranged an outing to a woodland area on a crisp, sunny autumn day and took her into the woods in a wheelchair. She was overwhelmed to be able to be out in the fresh air again in the natural world.

My mother was resident at Grovelands for just over two years, we found that the building was always clean and tidy. The staff and managers were always helpful and friendly.

Mum has been at Grovelands for more than a year. The hard working, helpful staff have been wonderful at looking after her in Petals, the dementia unit. They call out the doctor when needed and inform me straight away.

From the initial visit to look around, all members of the staff have been really helpful - asking questions of us as to Mum's needs and equally answering our questions fully. We are happy that she is in the best place to receive professional and loving care in a safe environment.

Grovelands is a welcoming and happy home with staff that really get to know each person's needs.
The areas are clean and fresh and the facilities are very good throughout.
The activity programme is varied and creative and there is always so much to do.
Meals are well cooked and always appetising
with lots of snacks on offer throughout the day.
I feel safe knowing my Mum is at Grovelands and would recommend this home highly.

I have worked at Grovelands since 2007 and feel a strong sense of pride in the outstanding reputation of the home and the dedicated staff team who are committed to caring for our residents. It is greatly important to me to support people to make our home their home, with photos and furnishings to truly personalise their environment. It is also important to support and encourage residents to maintain their interests and be introduced to new adventures and make new friends!


When residents choose to live at Grovelands I feel it is the beginning of a new chapter and journey in their lives, and my aim is to make this the happiest time possible and ensure that meaningful regular contact with their family and old friends is a priority.
I believe strongly in paying attention to detail and empowering staff to provide the best standard of residential and PETALS dementia care with compassion and dignity.


Visitors always comment on our incredibly friendly staff, the warm welcome they receive and the homely atmosphere. I am proud that residents and their families speak so highly of Grovelands and recommend us to their friends. I welcome feedback to enable changes and continual improvements to be made with the service.
