My brother and I are very happy with the care our mother receives. The staff are all so caring, know the residents well and are always kind in the way they talk to our mother and care for her. The food is good and our mother is very happy with her room, and being able to take part in activities with others. The staff are always welcoming when we visit, keep us updated on how our mother is and are always ready to listen. The staff work hard and yet are always happy and positive. Bemerton Lodge is a very special place, and we are lucky that our mother has a room here and is so well looked after.

My wife attends the daycare centre once a week. There is a great feeling of homeliness and care. The staff are very professional and always available to provide feedback relating to my wife's involvement with activities. The management team have been particularly helpful and supportive. I feel very confident that my wife will be treated with dignity and given excellent care. Dur to my wife's dementia, she can't provide feedback of her day, but always leaves the daycare happy and content.

My sister has been in Bemerton Lodge for approximately 9 months, when she was first admitted, she was filthy and dishevelled and refusing all help, within days she was clean and had started to eat properly and interact with the staff and other residents taken part in organised activities. The change in her are very noticeable, and I feel this is mainly due to the skills and perseverance of the staff.

More importantly, the team ensure she is safe, well and happy in her environment. Not once has she complained about her care and stay when we take her out. If she, or us, her family requires something, it is done. Whenever we visit, the staff team are welcoming, friendly and open. My sister in law and her family appreciate what they do for her.

Whilst my mother generally has good care. She has broken three bones on separate occasions in your care, collar bone and 2 hip replacements. The last was because another resident pushed her over. On a different occasion she was punched in the mouth by another resident.

There are regular activities available for the resident to engage in if they choose to.
I appreciate what they do for my mother in a way that I can't, and the fact that they remain positive, while doing, what can be, a difficult job. Would definitely recommend.

Since our mother became a resident at Bemerton Lodge almost a year ago, I have been deeply impressed by the quality of care provided, and i feel that our family was very lucky to find a place available for her here. Everything is very well and ethically organised, and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to accommodate the particular needs and comforts of each resident. I enormously appreciate the effort and imagination put into providing residents with frequent, appealing and stimulating activities to keep life interesting and enjoyable, such as supervised group garden work, outings to a farm with a chance to feed goats (!), themed parties with food and costumes from different parts of the world, talks and films on places and topics that offer something new and interesting to learn. Our mother, a retired musician, is facilitated to play music, which helps to honour and retain who she is. She is very happy living here and socialises well.

She really enjoyed that experience and after college started working full time with adults. Rebecca has worked in various organisations in numerous roles working her way up to management. Rebecca also worked for a long time at a Learning and Development manager teaching staff how to safely work with people in care.
In Rebecca’s spare time she runs dog training classes and likes to spend time with her own dogs and her family.
