Even before Mom became a resident we were confident that Digby Manor and the care staff were right. Everyone we've met has exceeded my expectations in the level of care and attention provided to my mother and her fellow residents. At no time have I worried about the level of care provided and she has
settled in far quicker than I dared to hope which I believe is down to Digby Manor.
Reply from Jane Farr, Manager at Digby Manor Care HomeThank you Judith for your lovely review of Digby Manor. Your mom is a truly wonderful lady and it is our pleasure to see her everyday enjoying herself and loving life at Digby Manor. She has indeed settled in very well to life at Digby and it is lovely to see the family visit so often and interact with all the other residents. We are one big family at Digby Manor we all thank you for your kind words about the team. Best wishes to you and your lovely family from us all at Digby Manor.

Every aspect of mom's care during the final chapter of her life at Digby Manor was of the highest quality. Having to move mom out of her home of 68 years was daunting and traumatic for me personally as she had lost the capacity to recognise she could no longer cope without a permanent carer present.
That the move wasn't traumatic for mom was due to the warmth, care and professionalism of such an excellent, well-led team. Mom immediately felt safe, secure and welcomed by staff who are not just diligent in physical care, but also highly personable and clearly enjoy passing time with their residents. As a family, we will always be grateful mom's last months were spent at a place she immediately felt at home in and where we felt comfortable she was in the best hands. A big thank you to everyone at Digby Manor!
Reply from Jane Farr, Manager at Digby Manor Care HomeThank you Michael for your kind and warm review of Digby Manor. It was our privilege to care for your mom during the final chapter of her life at Digby Manor. We are so happy to hear that you felt that mom felt safe, secure and welcomed by the staff. We wish you and your lovely family all the very best for the future and we hope that you will pop in whenever you are passing as we are all one big family.

All the staff are very helpful and very knowledgeable in regard to my wife. The room is spotlessly clean as well as the whole home. for so well.

All the staff are friendly and supportive whenever I visit, morning, afternoon and evening. The admin staff have time to put any issues at ease, especially one lady who listens attentively and is very empathetic about how the families feel. My mother is happy with her care and getting on with other

My father has been at Digby now for just over a year. During that time, his general well-being has improved no end due to the care and support from all the management and staff. The interaction that he gets through the staff, encouraging him to play games and participate in projects is a joy to see.
During Coivd, it has been really difficult not to be able to support him myself, but the staff have become his family, and I cannot thank them enough for their care and support.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.997) out of 10 for Digby Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.997 for Digby Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (395 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 396 Ratings = 4.997
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Digby Manor Care Home is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
