Dad moved into Darby House end of June. Settled very quickly and appears to be happy. Staff extremely helpful and very caring towards all patients. Staff go out of their way to assist with anything he requires. 100% satisfied with the care he has received.
Thank you very much for your review and kind comments. It's fantastic that your dad has settled in so well and is happy at Netherton Green. We will pass on your compliments to the team. Thanks again and best wishes.
Absolute 100% satisfied with the care of my brother. A great team of staff. He is happy, contended and safe in this wonderful homely environment. A big thank you to the management and staff for their kindness, patience and humanitarian approach to my brother and other residents.
Thank you so much for a lovely review, it is always appreciated when the care and compassion of our great management and staff team is recognised in such a positive way. I am pleased your brother is happy at Netherton Green, this is always our goal to ensure people are treated with care, respect...
Fantastic care for my Dad, he is kept clean and shaved daily. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff is brilliant and always willing to help. My Dad's on end-of-life care and I couldn't have wished for better care of him. The nurse goes above and beyond to help and to keep my Dad comfortable in his final days. They have made this easier.
Thank you very much for your lovely review which we will share with the team. Best wishes.
The care is outstanding, Dad's on palliative care and coming to the end of his life, I couldn't have wished for better care. The staff are very helpful, the care given to Dad is brilliant, they keep him spotless even though I know he can be difficult sometimes. His final days are comfortable and with great support to me.
Thank you very much for your review and best wishes to your dad and all the family.
My mother-in-law moved into Netherton Green Care Home in December 23. Se settled in straight away. She enjoys the activities and entertainment that one last provides for the home. All the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I think we made a very good choice.
Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you are happy with your choice of Netherton Green for your mother-in-law and that she has settled in so well. Best wishes.
My mother has been in Netherton Green since Dec 23, the care she receives is first-class. She settled in straight away and enjoys the many activities that the activities and well-being coordinator arranges. All the staff are really nice.

The staff are all lovely and friendly. Very clean and warm grounds, pretty to look at. Lots of activities for residents to do.

Our relative passed away on June 19th 2023. This matter is very stressful, especially at this sad and difficult time.
I am sorry to hear that Advinia have not yet processed your refund. As all of the necessary steps have been taken at home level, we have now escalated this review to head office. I understand that this can be a difficult time, please be assured that this is being dealt with by our Finance Team at Head Office, who will contact you regarding this matter.
Netherton Green's strength is its staff; always efficient, helpful, considerate and caring.
Hello, Christopher, and thank you for your review. It is wonderful to hear your kind comments towards our staff; I will ensure these are shared with the team.
My husband is being well looked after and seems quite content.
Thank you very much for your review. We are delighted that you feel that your husband is being well looked after at Netherton Green. Best wishes.
The care given to my mum is beyond what we thought she would receive. The carers are always polite and interacting with all residents. Luckily, my mum is able to be taken on days out, which is a nice added bonus. They also arrange for entertainment (i.e. singers) to come in and perform for the residents.
Hello Craig and thank you very much for your review. We are delighted that you are so satisfied with the care your mum is receiving and that she is enjoying the entertainment on offer. Thanks also for your kind comments about the care team. Best wishes.
Our mom is always clean and dry, she is looked after very well. The staff are brilliant and mom loves them.
I will pass on your kind words to our team.
From myself and the team here at Netherton, thank you.
From the outset, we were warmly and compassionately welcomed by the deputy manager and his team. They all went out of their way to reassure us that my uncle would receive the very best of care. Very person-centred and nothing was too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend excellent palliative care.
We are happy to know that you received a lovely warm welcome from the deputy manager and the team, and glad that you felt reassured that the staff would provide your uncle with a high level of care and support. Thank you for your kind words and recommendation.
This home was first class in every way, from the room and location, to the manager and to the nurses and carers who I knew my dad loved. You could tell his face lit up when they spoke, I cannot fault the care, it was exceptional. I would definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely comments. Our team aim to give the very best to our residents and their families.
Our dad moved from hospital in mid-May and even though he was only there for a short period of time, the care he received was excellent. All of the staff both nurses and carers were always there to check on him, help and support us as he was receiving care. They kept him comfortable and pain-free.
Thank you for your lovely comments. Our team at Netherton Green aim to give the very best to our residents and families.
When we came to visit as a family, we were offered hot drinks and biscuits. We were made to feel welcome at any time. He was checked on regularly, and looked clean and comfortable. The room was always clean and tidy and also around to hand pictures up to make it feel like home. He loved the stuff as his face always lit up hearing them. We are so pleased with his care and thank everyone.
Thank you for your comments. Our team at Netherton aim to give the very best to our residents and their families.
My mum has been a resident in Darby House for over 3 years and I have found the nursing care to be of an excellent standard. Any concerns are dealt with promptly and sensitively and to my satisfaction. I feel reassured she is in safe hands. I am kept informed if there are any issues that I need to be made aware of and I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit my mum. I have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone who may be looking for a care home for their loved one.
Thank you so much for your excellent review of the care and service you receive from us. We are thrilled to hear that we are consistently meeting your expectations.
Mum has been in Netherton Green now for three years. I cannot fault the care that she receives and any small issues that I may have raised have mainly been dealt with. Mum is in Windmill Unit and most of the staff and especially the activities lady on there go above and beyond! As with all care homes, there is always room for improvement.
Thank you for taking the time to review Mum's care on Windmill. I am pleased to hear that we have been responsive to any concerns you have needed to raise and hopefully the home will move from strength to strength moving forward.
Staff are very pleasant, approachable but extremely busy.
Thank you for your kind review and your thoughts on the team.
I feel the carers here are excellent and make me feel confident that Mum is protected and cared for. This is so important to me as I am so sad to have to leave her care to someone else. What a cruel way to end your days isn't it? Carers really are overworked and underpaid but a blessing for us all.
Thank you for taking the time to review Netherton Green. We are happy that your mum feels protected and safe and we understand how you feel about needing care for your mum.

Meet the Team (4)

I joined the team at Netherton Green in June 2001 as a Care Assistant, roughly 18 months later I was successful in promotion to Senior Care Assistant which was a role I had for 16 years. For the last 3 and a half years I have worked in the Activities and Wellbeing team and was again successful in promotion to Senior Activity and Wellbeing Coordinator at the beginning of 2022. Being in the Activities team allows me to get to know the Residents and their families in a different way, being able to help them engage with and enable Residents to continue to do the things that they enjoy, really is what I love about my job.

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, I have gained extensive experience in providing care and support to elderly people, helping to enrich their lives. I am a knowledgeable and dedicated leader, passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and enhancing the quality of life for residents. I believe in offering kind and compassionate support while embracing a holistic approach to meet the individual needs of every resident.

My name is Karen Winmill, and I’ve been part of the Netherton Green family for 24 years. I first joined as a Carer before progressing to a Senior Carer role, and for the past nine years, I’ve proudly worked as the Activities and Wellbeing Coordinator.
I’ve always loved spending time with our residents — getting to know their stories, hobbies, and interests is what makes this role so special to me. I truly believe this job was made for me. I have a warm, bubbly personality and a great relationship with both residents and their families. I’m never afraid to make a fool of myself if it means making someone smile — our residents especially love seeing which costume I’ll be wearing next for our themed days!
I’m passionate about providing person-centred activities that bring joy, purpose, and fulfilment to every individual. From weekly Bingo sessions (which families love to join in with!) to one-to-one chats over a cuppa, shopping trips, pet therapy visits, intergenerational activities, and live entertainment — there’s always something going on to brighten everyone’s day.
Outside of work, I enjoy going on cruise holidays with my husband and spending quality time with my family. I also have a lifelong love of dance — I was a dance teacher for many years and even competed as a child — which certainly comes in handy for my role here at Netherton Green!

I have worked as an administrator for over 30 years, and I've worked as a domiciliary carer for years in the past. I joined Netherton Green in October 2025. It is a lovely home, it feels very homely, and everyone made me feel very welcome.
