Went to visit my relative today 27/08/18 and was welcomed by 2 lovely nurses outside the building as we were unsure where to go, they were very polite and helpful and directed us the way. On entering the building was very impressed how clean and well kept it looked, the atmosphere was calm and relaxed, entering my relative's room it looks cosy and welcoming, tv on and clean, staff were very helpful and quickly responded to request made, must say first impressions are important and I was very happy.
Thank you for your kind review. You are right first impressions do make a difference and I hope that your relatives stay with us will remain a positive one.
My mom has settled into Netherton Green really well. The staff are amazing, I know that my mom is safe and looked after really well at Netherton Green. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Netherton Green Care Home.
Thank you for your kind review, we are pleased that you are happy with the care that we are providing.
My mom was only with you for 3 weeks but the kindness and compassion we were shown means the world to us. Everyone worked really hard but always had a smile and a hello, even making us drinks and sandwiches which were really appreciated. I would have no hesitation in recommending Netherton Green Care Home when faced with the biggest decision of looking for care for someone you love. Thank you all.
He can't communicate verbally but they know him and can understand his needs.
Thank you Mrs Jones, for your kind words, I am pleased to hear that you are happy with the care being provided.
My mom is well settled here. We looked at different homes, came here and we liked it from the first look. Mom doesn't deal with change due to her Vascular Dementia. The friendly faces of staff always help in every way.
Thank you so much for your review. I am very pleased that your mom is happy with us at Netherton Green care home.
Mom has been in care at Netherton for almost two years. She has settled well and as a family, we are happy with the care she gets. The unit she is on is a dementia unit and is a difficult unit but she receives the care she needs and the staff are caring and accommodating. Mom is a self-funder and the care costs are excessive in my opinion.
Thank you for your positive review.
Very good so far.
Thank you for your review.
Mother in law has mental capacity and is treated as such and with compassion as she is palliative care.
Thank you for your kind review. I am very pleased that you are happy with the care that we are providing.
All the staff, kitchen, cleaners and office staff would find time to talk to him.
But most of all I would like to thank the nurses who cared for him on a daily basis and to all the carers who were with him 24hrs daily. Once again thank you for everything concerning my brother.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
We were also cared for too and thus made a difficult time much easier.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review. It is so nice to hear that your mum and your family were so well cared for at such a difficult time.
I cannot thank the unit manager, nurses and carers of Windmill House enough for the loving care they showed my mom, they went beyond the call of duty. Also the care they showed my brother and I in my moms final hours. All of them are a credit to you. They are worth their weight in gold. I thank you so much

My Mom is now a permanent resident at Netherton Green. After an initial uneasy period when Mom was settling in and getting used to having to be looked after, she now feels at home and has made friends. This has been a great relief to myself and her family. The staff here have always been professional, caring and patient, keeping me informed of all problems or issues concerning my Mom. The girls are very friendly and obviously care about the residents.
Thank you for your review. It is so nice to hear that your mum has settled and made new friends, I'm sure she will continue to make new friends with both the residents and the staff.
The staff at Darby House cannot be faulted. They are the best and most caring people I have ever met - so many people are quick to complain about care services but I cannot compliment enough. You should all be so proud of the job that you do- and it is obvious to everyone that it is not just a job to you, but a lifestyle.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I have found Netherton Green to be very friendly, staff are kind, thoughtful, caring and obliging in every way. Rooms and day rooms lounge and dining rooms are well cared for and very clean. Bed linen is always clean and fresh. Nothing is too much trouble day or night if ever I need care I hope they will find a place for me.
Thank you for your review. It is great to hear that you think so highly of our home so much so that if you ever needed care you would want to become part of our family.
Finally discharged my mom to another home without prior notice to family or checking that all her medical requirements had been met before her release!
We take all comments extremely seriously and are very disappointed to hear that you are unsatisfied with your experience of care at one of our homes. Our residents’ health and wellbeing is our absolute priority. We would like to contact you so that we can discuss this in more detail and investigate it fully. Socialising was a huge part of mum's recovery process and this was encouraged. Most staff were attentive and sensitive to mums needs.
Participation in activities, both group and physio was also encouraged and benefited mum.
Food was varied and to a good standard, I have no complaints about mums standard of care.
One suggestion she had, to improve services, was to have a separate male/female toilet facility. This would add to dignity for both genders.

From the moment he was admitted the staff were kind, compassionate and informative.
It was a very emotional and upsetting time for all our family and Dad but we were reassured by the actions of staff that we had made the right decision.
My Dad was treated with kindness and dignity and the staff genuinely seemed to care.
Sometimes we'd appear unannounced to find staff feeding Dad and chatting to him, keeping him company.
The work these staff do is commendable, I cannot thank them enough.
Thank you so much for sharing such a lovely review with us, we really appreciate your feedback. I am so pleased that Netherton Green provided both you and your Dad with the support that you needed during this time. I will share your kind words with the home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
The care home is a fantastic and very family orientated run place. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. My father was care for famously in this place. I would highly recommend this care home.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. I am so pleased to hear that you would recommend this home. I will pass on your kind comments to the home manager. Thank you again, The Bupa Customer Care Team.
I am POA for my father who was a resident in Windmill House. The staff were pleasant enough, but not always responsive to his immediate needs and at times needed prompting. Felt that staff need to respond more quickly to residents requests for help. Lack of consistency in levels of care given to him and felt that better observation should have been given to him to ensure that his dietary and fluid needs were being met. I felt disappointed that we were not routinely updated regarding how my father was doing. Feel that there needs to be an improvement in the care and service provided to residents.

Meet the Team (4)

I joined the team at Netherton Green in June 2001 as a Care Assistant, roughly 18 months later I was successful in promotion to Senior Care Assistant which was a role I had for 16 years. For the last 3 and a half years I have worked in the Activities and Wellbeing team and was again successful in promotion to Senior Activity and Wellbeing Coordinator at the beginning of 2022. Being in the Activities team allows me to get to know the Residents and their families in a different way, being able to help them engage with and enable Residents to continue to do the things that they enjoy, really is what I love about my job.

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, I have gained extensive experience in providing care and support to elderly people, helping to enrich their lives. I am a knowledgeable and dedicated leader, passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and enhancing the quality of life for residents. I believe in offering kind and compassionate support while embracing a holistic approach to meet the individual needs of every resident.

My name is Karen Winmill, and I’ve been part of the Netherton Green family for 24 years. I first joined as a Carer before progressing to a Senior Carer role, and for the past nine years, I’ve proudly worked as the Activities and Wellbeing Coordinator.
I’ve always loved spending time with our residents — getting to know their stories, hobbies, and interests is what makes this role so special to me. I truly believe this job was made for me. I have a warm, bubbly personality and a great relationship with both residents and their families. I’m never afraid to make a fool of myself if it means making someone smile — our residents especially love seeing which costume I’ll be wearing next for our themed days!
I’m passionate about providing person-centred activities that bring joy, purpose, and fulfilment to every individual. From weekly Bingo sessions (which families love to join in with!) to one-to-one chats over a cuppa, shopping trips, pet therapy visits, intergenerational activities, and live entertainment — there’s always something going on to brighten everyone’s day.
Outside of work, I enjoy going on cruise holidays with my husband and spending quality time with my family. I also have a lifelong love of dance — I was a dance teacher for many years and even competed as a child — which certainly comes in handy for my role here at Netherton Green!

I have worked as an administrator for over 30 years, and I've worked as a domiciliary carer for years in the past. I joined Netherton Green in October 2025. It is a lovely home, it feels very homely, and everyone made me feel very welcome.
