The staff always pleasant and polite. The home has a lovely feel about it with plenty going on. Service is very good and if one asks for something to be done it is. Very clean and residents look well cared for. Food looks good and good communication between care home and residents. We alway seem welcomed when visiting.

Overall Experience

My Aunt lived in St Bernard's for almost 3 years throughout which she received care of the highest standard. She moved to Solihull from some distance to be near to us, her closest family, but in doing so lost her existing social network. St Bernard's welcomed her and did everything possible to ease her move, she quickly settled in and made new friends amongst residents and staff. The home genuinely feels like a family home and relatives are always included in that family. I visited once or twice a week, at many different times, and always felt welcome. When she arrived my Aunt had lost confidence and her health was failing; the care and attention she received in St Bernard's lifted her mentally and physically. Both her confidence and her general health improved and she regained her dignity and enthusiasm for life. She was a person who knew her own mind and was not always easy to please but she often told me how very lucky she felt to have found such a special place to call home.

Overall Experience

St Bernards, where my mother has been a resident for 4 years, deserves its Outstanding CQC rating. Staff are cheerful, friendly and treat the place as the home of all its residents. They work well as a team, and are right on top of the needs of every resident. The owners are heavily involved, and have built a great team of caring staff.

The environment is light and bright, with plenty of activities inside the home, trips out, and beautiful gardens to spend time in. Food is home cooked and staff are always happy to prepare a snack if a resident has been out and missed a meal. Good relationships with local GP practice, dentist, chiropodist, hairdresser etc. ensures that everyone's health and well-being is well maintained. Staff are always happy to give families an update, and to discuss changing care needs. First class!

My father went into the St Bernards for respite care. We visited several homes in the Solihull area, but found that the St Bernards was outstanding. The care that my father received was exceptional. The home, staff could not have done any more to put dad back on track. Dad is now back at home but regularly visits to see friends that he made during his stay. The staff still make dad so welcome.

I work for the NHS and can honestly say I have never been into such a home that is so welcoming, modern, clean and homely. I can't praise the St Bernards enough.

This residential care home is spotlessly clean, the food is lovely, fresh meals which I have had with my mom on several occasions and I was even asked if I would like red or white wine!!

My mom is always dressed nicely in her outfits which she chose to take with her, these are washed, brought back and hung in her built in wardrobe on the same day. The staff are very attentive and always telephone me if there are any concerns regarding mom, such as change of mood, or if she seems "under the weather". It is highly recommended.

The owners and staff at St Bernards have made mothers transition to the home very pleasant. They are all so kind and understanding. Nothing was too much trouble even down to the handy man putting up mothers own pictures in her room. The care that she is receiving by far out weighs the personal care she received while in hospital.

St Bernard's Home has a caring highly personal delivery of care. The staff are very well trained seem highly motivated and very caring. The decor and cleanliness is exemplary. The feeling is one of a tasteful home rather than a sterile corporate environment. Each resident is treated as an individual and their needs are met as comprehensively as possible. The entertainment programme is imaginative and stimulating. Visits to interesting places are regularly a part of the weekly schedule. The food is well prepared and flavorsome. The garden and terrace are a great attraction. One is always made very welcome whatever the hour.

First experience of a residential care home and mightily impressed. All the staff are friendly, courteous, helpful and respectful despite sometimes challenging circumstances.

The home is clean, fresh and put on a variety of activities which are age appropriate.

My Aunt is extremely happy there, has made new friends and has 24/7 care at her fingertips.

Upon the death of my uncle 12 months ago, it fell upon me to sort out my aunts' affairs. There was no way she could live on her own, so I was so relieved that I found St Bernards. My aunt has settled in very well and I feel as thought a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders knowing that she is safe and well looked after. The thing that impresses me most is the number of staff that are always on duty and genuinely seem to care and enjoy their job.

My mother has received exceptional care during the 10 months she has been in St Bernards. All of the staff are so caring towards her and also towards us as regular visitors (we visit every day) Levels of communication are excellent which is most re-assuring. The home is spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained as well as beautifully furnished. There is always a stimulating activity for the residents to access if they want to. Food is always incredible!

The staff at St Bernards have been caring for my husband one day a week since August 2015. They are always caring and cheerful and look after his every need, sometimes in difficult circumstances. They are also very attentive to my needs, when I collect him and most importantly, keep me appraised of how his day has been. Any problems are reported to me. I cannot praise the staff enough.

Having experienced several care homes, I can honestly say St Bernards is by far the best, we can not fault the care. The accommodation is excellent, food is delicious and the staff bend over backwards to help. It is a relief to know mum is safe, secure and looked after.

Overall Experience

When seeking a home for my 95 year old mother (suffering from early on set dementia) I visited a number of potential homes. St Bernard's caring and friendly atmosphere stood out and 9 months later I'm delighted to say that my initial impression has been strongly confirmed. The home is clean, the residents are always treated as individuals and every member of staff knows every resident. There appears to be very little turnover in the staff which itself indicates a very professional and caring approach to the services being provided. Every day brings new initiatives to broaden the activities available. I have never regretted my selection of St Bernard's as the home for my mother and would recommend the home to any family seeking the best for an elderly family member.
