My brother needed emergency respite care when our mother was hospitalized. The staff have been very helpful and supportive of both my brother and myself as we acclimatised to the new situation. The staff have been super friendly to Stuart and this has made the transition successful. I feel confident that his needs are being met and I when I visit I'm made to feel welcome. The building is always clean and the staff always prioritise caring for the residents.

The management and staff couldn't have been more helpful and supportive when we recently had to move mom from her home into Penn House. As mom has dementia it was difficult for her to fully understand what was happening during the move, the whole team were on hand to take care of mom and to give us support and advice. The staff went out of their way to introduce themselves and make mom feel at home. After a few weeks mom has settled in well. The staff are friendly, considerate, helpful and dedicated. Mom thoroughly enjoys the organised events and has been very busy creating various items. The family are very pleased with Penn House and I would be happy to recommend their care to others.

Staff have all been kind caring and considerate. Mum enjoys the food. She has settled in well despite complex issues arising from dementia. Communication has been good and the management team and seniors have gone the extra mile to help mum and our family at what has been a difficult time for us.

The staff at Penn House are wonderful and very attentive. Whenever Dad's been ill, or had a potential fall, they're very quick to action, taking no chances. Recently Lee (manager) noticed Dad 'wasn't himself' so called out ambulance. Turned out he had double pneumonia, low oxygen, sepsis and kidney...
The staff at Penn House are wonderful and very attentive. Whenever Dad's been ill, or had a potential fall, they're very quick to action, taking no chances. Recently Lee (manager) noticed Dad 'wasn't himself' so called out ambulance. Turned out he had double pneumonia, low oxygen, sepsis and kidney failure. Their prompt reactions have most likely saved his life. Dad has COPD and advanced dementia so spotting these things isn't easy. This isn't the first time either (Dad is a constant fall risk and gets sick a lot and has regular epileptic seizures.) Medication is well managed and reviewed regularly by GP.
Dad lights up when he sees some of his favourite carers, esp Deb! It is a huge relief to know that he is being well taken care of and his needs are met. He is always clean and tidy (note he is often incontinent), nails trimmed, hair cut, clean shaven - which he cannot do for himself, and eats well. Residents are well monitored as well, as there are cameras in the main communal areas

What can I say about this wonderful establishment that isn't glowing. My Mam had been in their care since February 2023 following an emergency temporary respite bed, she has remained there until she sadly passed away early this morning. Her behaviour to say the least was both complex and challenging at times, the staff went above and beyond, she was extremely well looked after, safe, cared for with love and the last week of her life she was comfortable and I was able to visit whenever I wished. I will be forever grateful to the Manager and Staff at Penn House for their professional manner, care, love and support they showed my Mam. A heartfelt Thank You

My Dad has made a steady recovery, over the last 11 days.
Having been in hospital for 2 weeks for a suspected UTI infection, where he had several intravenous antibiotics during his stay.
The staff at the care home have taken the time to make Dad comfortable and take time to talk with him.

My sister joined Penn House after struggling to manage in her ground-floor flat. The care that was provided for her in her flat was nothing short of woeful. On first entering Penn House we were very impressed with the friendliness and dedication of all the staff from management to domestics. Nothing is too much trouble for them even in busier times. After years of not eating properly, my sister now eats properly cooked meals and loves the crispy bacon on a weekend! Well done Penn House.

They’ve made Mom feel so welcome, she’s settled in really well and I can honestly say, hand on heart, that in all of my time there with her I have never once witnessed an ounce of impatience from any of the staff with any of the patients, not a single eye roll or sigh amongst them - even when challenging situations arise. It’s clear they care a great deal and it’s obvious that they’re there because they want to be. They are happy in their work which speaks volumes for the home overall. There are no closed doors or secrets, and no set visiting hours, we’re told that this is her home and ours too. They bring me peace at a very stressful time.
