Overall Experience
My mother is a resident at Penn House care home, I recently found out and in the ten or so times my wife and I have visited the home, to see my mother, the last two occasions have been the worst. The upstairs, in fact, the whole house smells really badly of urine. I find this totally unacceptable, for a care home standard of hygiene. The staff are friendly and helpful, I've never seen my mom eat a hot meal while I've been there. Looking at other care homes closer to myself and my family, the standard does seem to be a lot higher than the standard she's getting at the moment. I'm concerned for her mental health as there doesn't seem to be anything to occupy her mind whilst she convalescing with a very badly broken leg (7places).

Yours concerningly.
