Staff have all been kind caring and considerate. Mum enjoys the food. She has settled in well despite complex issues arising from dementia. Communication has been good and the management team and seniors have gone the extra mile to help mum and our family at what has been a difficult time for us.

The staff at Penn House are wonderful and very attentive. Whenever Dad's been ill, or had a potential fall, they're very quick to action, taking no chances. Recently Lee (manager) noticed Dad 'wasn't himself' so called out ambulance. Turned out he had double pneumonia, low oxygen, sepsis and kidney failure. Their prompt reactions have most likely saved his life. Dad has COPD and advanced dementia so spotting these things isn't easy. This isn't the first time either (Dad is a constant fall risk and gets sick a lot and has regular epileptic seizures.) Medication is well managed and reviewed regularly by GP.

Dad lights up when he sees some of his favourite carers, esp Deb! It is a huge relief to know that he is being well taken care of and his needs are met. He is always clean and tidy (note he is often incontinent), nails trimmed, hair cut, clean shaven - which he cannot do for himself, and eats well. Residents are well monitored as well, as there are cameras in the main communal areas

Thank you so much for your kind and detailed feedback. It means a great deal to our team to know that your dad feels safe, cared for, and happy with us. We're especially pleased that our staff's attentiveness and quick actions have made such a difference. Your reassurance and trust are truly appreciated, and we'll be sure to pass on your lovely comments to Lee, Deb, and the whole team.

Over the weeks I found it hard to get mom to mingle with others in the home. But with the carers and nurses there she has loved participating in craft work with your staff and residents, it was so lovely to see her happy. Your staff have been amazing with my mother and I can't speak highly enough about them and how she has been treated.

It was an amazing experience well done

Our Father has been at Penn House for just over 4 weeks,
We could not be any happier with all aspects of Dad's care.
From the very warm welcome he and us as a family received on day one, the care could not be any more suited to his needs. Emotionally and practically.

This home has a warm, fun and happy feel. Nothing is too much trouble and we are all treated as family.

Mum went into Penn House in early December 2024 - living overseas, it is reassuring to have met the excellent and kind staff who take care of her. I have found the staff to be helpful, kind and caring, without exception and Mum is definitely in safe hands.

Myself, my sister, family and friends have always been made to feel very welcome and the team always take the time to speak to us when we are there. A big thank you to everyone at Penn House for everything that they are doing for Mum.

What can I say about this wonderful establishment that isn't glowing. My Mam had been in their care since February 2023 following an emergency temporary respite bed, she has remained there until she sadly passed away early this morning. Her behaviour to say the least was both complex and challenging at times, the staff went above and beyond, she was extremely well looked after, safe, cared for with love and the last week of her life she was comfortable and I was able to visit whenever I wished. I will be forever grateful to the Manager and Staff at Penn House for their professional manner, care, love and support they showed my Mam. A heartfelt Thank You

Can't speak highly enough of all of you, our gratitude to you all for the support and encouragement to Dad and also to all our family in this uncertain time. My Dad has made a steady recovery, over the last 11 days.
Having been in hospital for 2 weeks for a suspected UTI infection, where he had several intravenous antibiotics during his stay.
The staff at the care home have taken the time to make Dad comfortable and take time to talk with him.
He was very confused as to why he had been sent to a care home.
The staff has reassured him, as he has gained in confidence being able to walk with his frame. Eating and dressing himself.
He is happy with the home and doesn't want to be moved anywhere else. Just to get better and get back home.

Well done to the caring staff.

My sister joined Penn House after struggling to manage in her ground-floor flat. The care that was provided for her in her flat was nothing short of woeful. On first entering Penn House we were very impressed with the friendliness and dedication of all the staff from management to domestics. Nothing is too much trouble for them even in busier times. After years of not eating properly, my sister now eats properly cooked meals and loves the crispy bacon on a weekend! Well done Penn House.

Mum was admitted directly from hospital severely weakened from a serious bout of constipation. The dedication and attention provided by the staff to reinvigorating Mum with nutritional intake and mobility has been profoundly successful and appreciated. Mum is much brighter and starting to join the other residents in the communal areas for meals and TV. Great job.

Mom was discharged to Penn House straight from the hospital on a D2A (Discharge To Access) with very little notice or consultation. Our heads were spinning but the staff have been absolutely amazing since day one. They always have time to answer questions, they’re more than happy to listen and take on feedback when offered and they are always visible and contactable.

They’ve made Mom feel so welcome, she’s settled in really well and I can honestly say, hand on heart, that in all of my time there with her I have never once witnessed an ounce of impatience from any of the staff with any of the patients, not a single eye roll or sigh amongst them - even when challenging situations arise. It’s clear they care a great deal and it’s obvious that they’re there because they want to be. They are happy in their work which speaks volumes for the home overall. There are no closed doors or secrets, and no set visiting hours, we’re told that this is her home and ours too. They bring me peace at a very stressful time.

After spending 9 weeks in hospital laying on her back with a neck brace on my 79-year-old mom was transferred on 20/11/2019 to Penn House via step down.
First impressions when I walked in the home was that it was warm and the staff also warm and friendly also there was no smell sometimes attributed to a care home.
My mom has been a resident for 5 nights and she has asked for cake, the first time in 9 weeks she has asked for food, she is in a warm comfortable room and is smiling and sleeping much better. My dad is happy to see my mom being looked after so well.
My mom's skin is in a bad way due to the hospital stay, but the staff at Penn House are looking after her to the district nurses instructions.
The family are hoping that after the physios have helped my mom to stand then hopefully walk again there will be availability for my mom to continue her stay.

A big thank you to all the staff and management for looking after mom and putting a smile back on her face!

My uncle was recently a resident at Penn House and I was very happy with the care he received. The staff were extremely helpful and caring and I was always made

to feel extremely welcome every time I visited him. When he was taken ill one morning the member of staff stayed with him in the ambulance and at the hospital till we got there, I felt this really showed a real caring and compassion over and above what I would have expected.
